Are there good trails in Narusawa, Yamanashi?

Danny cycles. I come up here a couple times a year to go mountain biking. Uh, it’s just so nice here because of the elevation and great views of Mount Fuji when it’s not completely covered in clouds. As you can see over there, hiking trails are nice and wide and on a hard tail. It’s so fun to just bomb down these hills. Uh, there’s not any jumps or anything like that, but it is quiet. Not a lot of hikers, so great place to just be on your own trying to beat the heat. Daddy cycles. [Music] [Laughter] Nice little tip shot. the last time I rode this route, it I was on my bomb track and I had a really good time, but you know, the geometry is so close to a road bike that when you get onto those areas where it gets really steep and there’s some broken out stairs and stuff that I didn’t show in this video, unfortunately, but like there’s a there’s a few features on this route that a you know hard tail is so much better on than on a gravel bike. Uh, I guess if you’re more skilled than I am, you can have a really good time on it. But I just found overall, especially in the coyodai hiking trails, just having that geometry change with that 65 degree head tube angle makes life so much more enjoyable than on the 72° head tube angle on the bomb track. So much more trail. And then you got the suspension. I mean, it’s just overall a more enjoyable experience. What the heat? Of course, here a gravel bike is perfect cuz well, it’s a gravel road and this this road pretty much takes me back to my car at the Narusawa Minoeki, the roadside station. that station. I would say that that parking area is the best and most convenient area to stop and do some rides around here. Lots of gravel roads like this that lead into hiking trails all over the place. Great place to go up there in Yamanashi. Happy cycles. [Music]

Dannycycles tries to beat the heat in the hills of Narusawa. He traverses Koyodai hiking trails and cuts through the ominous Aokigahara forest.
Special thanks to Henry Schultz for the soundtrack!!

Leave a comment if you’ve biked up there before.
Tell me what bike you would use for those trails.
