這うようにのぼる自転車の日記（23-1）渋峠編 ／Crawling Cycling Diary Kusatsu to Shibu pass
久々のロードバイク輪行、今回は高速バスを利用して草津温泉に一泊、国道292号線の日本国道最高地点とその周辺を回りました。
60歳を超えると年々体力・気力が衰えていくことは否めず、「行ってみたいところは早く行かないと次の機会はない」という思いが頭から離れなくなります。国道最高地点に自転車で登ってみたいと思いつつ数年、もしかするともう登れないかもしれないという不安を抱えての旅でしたが、なんとか到達することができました。訪れた数日後に白根山の噴火警戒レベルが引き上げられ、国道292号が一部通行止めになったのでまさにギリギリのタイミング、登らせてくれた神様に感謝です。
The movie shows my trip to Kusatsu hot spring and Japan National Highway highest point on N.R.292. An elderly close to 70 years old loses physical capacity and vigor year by year. This means, I should not postpone my trip to a spot I want to visit, or I will never be there. A cycle trip to the National Highway highest point is such a trip, which has some risk to DNF even at this moment.
Fortunately, I could complete the mission. And, the road was closed a few days later due to increased risk of volcanic action of near-by Mt. Shirane. I sincerely thank for gods, because it will be impossible for me to be there on a bike in my life, if the closure lasts long.
