Hello! Welcome to the Paris Promenade Channel! Today I would like to introduce you to a special shop in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Have you ever heard of the word “upcycling”? I’m sure you’re all familiar with the word “recycle”. You’ve probably also heard the word “reuse”. Both of these words mean to reuse. Upcycling can be said to be about increasing the value of the original object and reusing it. In this channel, we have introduced several flea markets. It ‘s really fun to find bargains there. Upcycling can be said to be an advanced version of vintage lovers. I heard that the shop we are visiting today practices upcycling very tastefully. I have been curious about the shop for a long time. I have climbed the hill of the Latin Quarter. Here is the Salon de Thé that I introduced in this channel before. The shop I am heading for today is located diagonally opposite it. The name of this shop is [Initiales Bonnie]. This show window already has a stylish feel to it. I think this umbrella stand is an old milk can. Let’s go inside the shop. It has a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the living room of a tasteful French grandma. It’s a very nice presentation. Each corner of the store has its own personality. There are clothes too. The colorful feel of the vintage clothes is lovely. This woman is Lisa, the founder of the store. She explains about this store. This record jacket of French national singer Johnny Hallyday was taken at Lisa’s grandparents’ shop. Her grandfather and grandmother. Lisa herself is also in the corner of the photo in this article. Lisa’s grandparents ran a motorcycle specialty store in this neighborhood of the 5th arrondissement of Paris. This motorcycle was affectionately called “Bonnie”. Her grandparents named their house after it. Lisa opened this store in September 2023. The name of the store is said to be inspired by the nickname of her grandparents’ house. When I entered this store, I had a nostalgic impression, like I was at my grandma’s house. This concept was the reason. There is a dining kitchen at the back of the store. Moreover, you can buy almost everything here. What’s more, all of them can be personalized. These champagne glasses are engraved with “Paris, je t’aime.” These beer glasses are engraved with “Allez la France!” I think it’s a very thoughtful gift for French soccer fans. Lisa is thinking of adding the history of the person who will own the items that already have history. The milk pitcher collection is amazing. There are items from various countries. Of course, they are all vintage and collected by Lisa. I thought this set of plates was very nice. They are vintage plates that have been newly painted. It’s very stylish, isn’t it? It seems that they can paint them based on photos of pets. There is also this idea of personalization. Plates were beautifully displayed on a shelf near the entrance. There were patterns on them too. Each plate is hand-painted and even gold-painted. On the back of each plate, there is the signature of the artist who painted it, the name of this shop, and a serial number. In other words, it is an original plate that is one of a kind in the world. There are various types of pictures, words, and colors, so we can choose the one we like. First, we choose the base plate. These plates were also selected by Lisa at flea markets. The many hanging on this wall are samples of the pictures. You can put a proverb on it, or the name of a newborn baby. It would be a good gift for a wedding anniversary or a birthday. The most popular is this Marie Antoinette picture. What caught my attention was that there is a cut line on Marie Antoinette’s neck. Lisa said that you can leave the cut line on and leave Marie Antoinette’s neck on. I felt a little relieved. This certificate is attached to the personalized item. Moreover, the card itself is made in an atelier that inherits traditional printing techniques. Clothes can also be personalized. For example, this one. These are work clothes for workers, usually long. We cut the long hem, added ribs and put a vintage emblem on it. You can choose what you like. The idea was to make a jacket to wear when you support the French national team in your favorite sport. I had “Bonnie” embroidered on the back. The original color of the work clothes is blue. The buttons are red and the embroidery is white. Isn’t it very nice that they unify it with the French tricolor colors? There are also customizations like this. By adding “NE” to the logo “Champion”, “Champion” becomes a feminine noun. My goal is to collaborate with a brand and give back a part of the sales to an association fighting cancer or an organization for women’s rights. I haven’t made it happen yet, but it’s very important to me and I hope to make it happen in the future. There are sweatshirts, T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts. I thought this idea was outstanding. These were old dishcloths, barely used, actually often gifted by insurance companies or brands. This is “Printemps”. It’s from a famous department store. It’s the spring pattern of the Printemps department store. That’s right! This was customized for a female customer. She first chose the fabric for the dish towel. Then me and my mother, especially now my mother, looked around for vintage items and found this sweatshirt and embroidered her name on it. The bomber jacket is the signature product of this boutique. This one is mine. The tapestries are often bought at flea markets. They are framed, but we remove them from the frame and of course wash them well. You can choose them. We have a lot of bomber jackets, so you can choose the size. Then the couturier removes the lining of the jacket and puts the tapestry on the back, which will be sent to California. You can buy the ones that are already prepared. You can also choose and personalize them. There were also many pieces waiting for customers. I really liked this combination. Is there a wide price range? Yes, it is wide. It depends on the brand and the garment, whether you remove the lining, whether it’s a denim jacket, a sweatshirt or a bomber jacket. Sweatshirts are around 150 to 200 euros, denim jackets are 190 to 260 euros, and bomber jackets are 250 to 350 euros. This combination is also really interesting. I wonder if this was a gas station staff member’s jacket? And the combined dish towel pattern is a vintage car. It’s very stylish. Lisa said: The world is already overflowing with things. In addition, is there no need to mass-produce clothes that might be made by children? Rather, I think it is very important to make use of what is already there. It may be difficult to use old things as gifts for special occasions. However, if you can increase the value of something unique like this, I think it will be a very meaningful gift. I nodded deeply at her words. She has a background in press work for haute couture and high jewelry brands. She said that she had the concept of this boutique around 2019. She said that a strong desire was welling up from inside her body. And so it became a reality. Not only are there attractive vintage items here, but the family history and the history of the objects are cherished. Lisa’s outstanding sense and the work of artisans in each field breathe new life into the objects. I think that’s wonderful. Cartier Latin is a town of slopes. There are also stairs like this. Cartier Latin is also a student town, and the lives of Parisians overlap there. I always think that it is a very nice neighborhood. This neighborhood is also a fun place to walk around. Whenever I pass by this area, there is a place that I have always been drawn to because it makes good use of the corner. That place is Strada Café. I’m hungry, so I’d like to have lunch here. When the weather is nice, the terrace seats are popular. There are quite a few women who stop by this restaurant alone, like me, and the relaxed atmosphere is very nice. This is my first time eating here, so I asked the staff for a recommendation. After they explained various things to me, I ordered something that suited my mood today. This is it. Bacon sandwich. It also contains avocado and cheddar cheese. I also like the fact that it is garnished with arugula and ripe tomatoes. It looks compact, but it was quite filling. It was perfect for my lunch. There are so many variations of sandwiches. There are cookies and cakes inside the cafe, and they all look delicious. There were quite a few people ordering “Pain perdu (French toast)”. I’m sure that’s also a popular item at this cafe. Next time I come, I think it’ll be nice to have a coffee break with the cafe’s famous cappuccino and “Pain perdu”. Thank you very much for watching until the end. What did you think of this video? Did you enjoy it? If you liked this video, please give it a “like” and leave a comment. Bine te-am regăsit.Ca deobicei,o plăcere să te reîntâlnesc.Magazinul Lisei mi-a plăcut f mult.

Bonjour

Interesting upcycling store… Another way to continue, recreating new life, and appreciating vintage more… The food always looks good, and maybe I will copy the bacon sandwich today for my afternoon tea.

Mielenkiintoinen kauppa.🪲🐚🦜🐓🦖🐠🐙🌼
Haluan sinisen Bonnie-takin!
En ole koskaan nähnyt noin herkullisen näkösiä voileipiä.😍🤤
Kiitos taas, näkemisiin!
Thank you for taking us along.
