今回の旅の舞台となるのは、民藝と天領の名残が息づく倉敷美観地区、港町の風情が楽しい玉野市、そして国産デニム発祥の地・児島。レトロな倉敷を巡り、港町を散策したら瀬戸内海沿岸を走る王子マリンロードを通って、王子が岳と瀬戸内海を眺めながら一泊。翌日は鷲羽山の展望台を経由してジーンズストリートを走り、再び倉敷へ。郷土の美食に個性的なデニムになつかしい民藝品に……、とっておきのメイドイン岡山を探しに出かけよう。
Hida City is located in the northernmost part of Gifu Prefecture, surrounded by the Northern Alps. In Hida Furukawa at the center of the area, the clear Setogawa River flows, with carp swimming in its waters, alongside an elegant townscape featuring rows of white-walled storehouses. A little further from the town, one can relax in the tranquil countryside, where time seems to flow gently. For this bikepacking trip, we cycled through the countryside of Hida, which is a magnet for tourists staying in Takayama City and Shirakawa-go. Get in the saddle and discover the unpretentious lifestyle, old-fashioned activities, and simple traditions that are unique to this region.
