The bumpy cobblestone here. Heat. Heat. [Music] What it is? Okay, we made her. So, Larry was just saying that we’re riding on the old uh railway here. Railway Avenue it’s called. This used to go all the way to Mexico City. The old railroad here. Very cool. Splitting highway here. All right, Chos. We picked up a couple more riders here. Met up with us. All right, guys. We got a group of nine of us today. And now our uh our girl showed up that knows the rest of the way. So, she just met us uh maybe a mile from the square. All right, Chico. So, this is a pretty good trail. This is nice. Great for walking, jogging, biking. Wow, Chos, it looks like we’re at the edge of the city here now. Cool breeze, got some shade from the trees. Yeah, this is a beautiful ride, this one. Absolutely beautiful. Okay. Laminos. Laminos. This is tulle. Hey, I know how to get here. Cool. Now we’re at the big tree. Hola. At the big tree. What did he ass? All right, chos. This is an old logging road here. I had to lose my helmet here. Get a little hot. We’re out of the city now, so Beautiful views. Had the young fella’s way up there. And you got Larry on his ebike. I’m only in third place this time. I was kind of pushing myself there for a bit, so I’m a little winded right now, guys. Hallelujah. Praise Jesus. Hallelujah. Got to catch the young fella. Freaking Larry in your ebike. What’s better? Hey Hola. Okay, the cabanas. You’ve been back here before? Yes. Jeep road that goes up and over the hill to the other. Oh, this is the Jeep road here. Okay. The 4×4 trail. Looks like we’re going to be doing some serious mountain biking here. Dried Creek bread. Yeah, there’s the lagoon. Yeah. All right, she goes. Looks like we made it to the dam. Very cool. Wonder how many kilometers have we drove. I would guess uh let’s see it’s 18 kilometers or 18 miles from town to San Juan Edypot. You dare. and it comes. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh, I better give her. I got left behind here monkeying around with my electronics here for you guys. Okay, very cool. Gate’s open. Come on in. Okay. So, you got a cabin here, guys, to the left. I didn’t disconnect the GoPro, so And everyone’s taking off. So, we’ll just get a quick shot of it here. I’ll throw a picture in there for you guys. And you got stables here, too. There’s some horse stables. We’re not very far from the uh lagoon. The dam’s just like 100 meters over here to the left. They got stables here to the right. Oh, I got to get going here. Very cool. Had a little bridge here. Everybody went to the right. Yeah. I got out to walk. I can’t ride up this, but I got left behind there. I lost my group. Luckily, Larry come back for me. I don’t I come out of those cabins and I turned to the right, followed the other riders and my group went to the left. I didn’t know there’s trails all over back here. They get lost pretty easy. Okay, it’s a little rough here. I got to walk. Hold tough. Hold on. All right, chos. We got a maze of trails back in here. Pretty easy to get uh get lost back here, man. Oh, ouch. Ouchie. Oh, you’re all bleeding there, Larry. your left leg. Okay, the whole group is back together again. Okay, we’re walking. Yeah. Glad I wore my hiking boots. Oh, here’s where the boys were. The cabin. Wow. Beautiful. See an incredible house to be just deserted up here in the hills. Yeah, it’s nice. Somebody put a lot of money and effort into this. So, this is a pretty cool spot up here. This is our destination on top of the this cabin here. Very, very cool. Oh, you got another deck down there, too. What a view. So, we met up with another group of riders here at Chico’s. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] That was pretty cool, Chico. We’ll take a quick peek of the cabin here. I thought the other one was the cabin, but that was just a a bonus area there with the farm and the horse stables and that, but this was actually our destination. So, but we weren’t sure how to get here. It took a little uh looping and lapping around, but we figured it out. So, here’s the here’s the cabin here, guys. See, [Music] okay. Down we go. I walk my bike with the girls. Okay. There we go. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Well, my friend, that’s it. That’s all. Well, thank you so much for joining us today. We really appreciate it. Biking Through Oaxaca: Hidden Lagoon, Horse Ranch & Abandoned Mountain Cabin 🚴♂️🌄🐴
Join us for an unforgettable Sunday morning bike ride as we leave the busy streets of Oaxaca City behind and head deep into the countryside. Our journey takes us to three unique stops: a peaceful lagoon with a dam, a rustic ranch with horse stables, and finally, an abandoned spa retreat cabin nestled high in the mountains.
We set off at 7:30 AM, cycling through small pueblos as the morning sun heats up the valley. But as we climb in altitude, the air turns cool and fresh—perfect for exploring the forested trails. The final stretch to the old cabin wasn’t easy to navigate, and at one point I got left behind while filming—but thankfully Larry circled back for me!
After soaking in the breathtaking mountain views from the cabin’s rooftop, we head down to a nearby town and enjoy a well-earned lunch at a local market behind the church.
This ride had it all—nature, history, small-town charm, and great company. We hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!

Loving witnessing your beautiful life. You're smart to leave Canada.
Great intro song – fully enjoyed this video!
Any idea how deep the water in the dam was?
At 15:05 you better check your spelling!
Another great video! I'm familiar with some of the villages on your map; so glad to see you enjoying REAL Mexico. Will you tour some of the nearby ruins or the villages where they weave or make pottery?
30 miles is impressive.
