阿寺渓谷 おすすめの歩き方( Atera valley – a way to walk)

Hello. This video explains a recommended way to walk around Atera Valley. This video also includes footages of its highlights, so please enjoy. Atera Valley is a popular valley located in Okuwa Village, Nagano Prefecture, with beautiful river water and impressive emerald green pools. There are many highlights in Atera Valley. This is a list of the highlights. Atera Valley is a single flat road except for the nature trail from the suspension bridge near Akahiko Parking to Unari-Shima, and the highlights are along the road. Signs stand near each highlight. This is a simplified map of Atera Valley. It takes about 2 hours to walk from the entrance of Atera Valley to the camp one way. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Akahiko Parking, which is the halfway point, to Raccoon dog Pool, and about a 30-minute walk from the Akahiko Parking to Unari-Shima via the nature trail. In Atera Valley, vehicle access is restricted in the summer and shuttle buses are operated instead. It is possible to go to the camp by car, but the road from the Akahiko Parking to the camp is narrow, so you have to be very careful about passing oncoming cars. Based on the explanation so far, I recommend parking your car at the Akahiko Parking and walking to Raccoon dog Pool and the highlights above it. The road shoulders near the site of the Forest Railway and Ugen Waterfall are wide, so you can stop by there by car for a short time. From here, I’ll show you the highlights of Atera Valley with photos and footages. This is the Central Alps seen from near the entrance of Atera Valley. This is a view of the valley from the roadside a little further from the entrance. The stone with the pothole at the bottom left is Ta-Ishi. You can see UGEN waterfall on the face of the mountain far from the roadside. This photo was taken with a telephoto. You can go down to the riverside from the place where you can see UGEN Waterfall. This is Akahiko Shimaki Monument. You can go down to the riverside from Akahiko Parking. If you go back a little way from the Akahiko Parking, you’ll find a bridge and you can see Tarugasawa Waterfall from above it. You can see Inugaeri Pool from above a bridge. There is a place where you can see Kame-Ishi if you walk a little from Inugaeri Pool. If you go down to the riverside, you’ll find Raccoon dog Pool. There is a suspension bridge right near the Akahiko Parking, and the nature trail starts from there. The nature trail is a path through the forest. This is a junction to Rokudan Waterfall, and there are steep stairs down to Rokudan Waterfall. If you head to the junction to Unari-Shima from here, there is a steep, winding downhill before the junction. This is the junction to Unari-Shima. This is a riverside near Unari-Shima. The footage at the beginning of this video was shot here. If you walk a little down the river, you’ll find Unari-Shima. This is a view of the valley seen from Nakahatcho Bridge. There is a steep downhill from the road to the place where you can see Bear Pool. You can see Cow Pool from the roadside. You can see Kippo Waterfall on the opposite shore. You can go down to the riverside from the place near where you can see Kippo Waterfall. It’s a little dangerous, so if you try it, please do so at your own risk. There is also a place like this near Kippo Waterfall. This is Began-Sui at the camp. You can go down to the riverside from the camp. That’s all the main highlights of Atera Valley. I hope this video will be helpful for those who stroll around Atera Valley. Thank you for watching.
