Thisâthis river is… whatâs the name?Â
Wow. Who is this man? Absolutely magical. [Music]
Wow, it’s like 6:20 and I’m already sweating. Hey,Â
just wait for this bad boy to come up. Yes, the good old sun giving us another day of sweat.
This is our lovely nighttime security, looking  after Shanti and Mowgli.
Goodbye, thank you. Very flexible, my love. Did you noticeÂ
I did a bit of yoga in your sleep? YeahâShana sana. That’s the sleeping pose.
Did I just bump into you? Yes, you did. Get out of my way. Bye-bye,Â
thank you, thank you. Have a good day. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Noâno comingÂ
back now. Go Ladakh! Woo! Good, everything is working this morning.
Wait… am I working this morning? [Music]
Good morning, world.  Welcome back to the channel. It’s ride numberÂ
32 on our motorcycle adventure here in India. Yes, and we’re here on the streets of Mumbai. WeÂ
are back from our brief holiday and a successful visa run, and that means we now have 90Â
days moreâallowed and approved by the Indian governmentâto stay here in IndiaÂ
and finish our journey to Leh, Ladakh. Yes, thatâs amazing.
Ohâcoming, Iâm coming. Yeah, but anywayâso yes, it was a successfulÂ
visa run, and now it is time to hit the road again for what I’m calling theÂ
second half of our trip across India. Mumbai is basically the halfway point, becauseÂ
I looked up our odometer from the first ride, and we’ve actually ridden 4,000 km sinceÂ
we left Kanyakumari. And I’ve estimated that we’ve got about 3 to 4,000 km toÂ
go to get to the end of the journey. How many people are going toÂ
stop at this red light? Nobody. Literally.
Ah, he’s stopping… no he’s not. Yeah, it feels like the red lightÂ
doesn’t mean anything. I meanâitâs  quite clearâred is like, “Stop. Stop, guys.”
Everybody is still going. Everybody. But they sort of… sometimes they hesitate and theyÂ
know it’s wrongâoh, green! But then they sort of  look around and they go, “What am I waiting for?Â
What am I waiting forâother than the red light?” Anyway, we are ready to takeÂ
on the second half of India. So let me show you guys where we’re heading today.
So we are here in Mumbai, and today we will be riding to the holy city of Nasik to experienceÂ
an enchanting ritual known as Goda Arti. Yes, we are heading out of the big city andÂ
heading to a historical city. Nasik is a holy and spiritual place.
Oh my Lord… These guys are on a red light as well, by the way.
Okayâsurvived. So yes, it’s about a 165-kilometre ride today, andÂ
Google Maps says it will take us four hours. It’s already 6:30, so better hit the road. Let’s go.
[Music] So what does orange flashing mean, then?
I think orange flashing just means  you can go, but be very careful.
Because a school bus will cross in front of you. Yeah, but a school bus… you can go, but if aÂ
school bus wants to goâlet the school bus go. It’s crazy, though, because it feels likeÂ
literally half of Mumbai is a construction  site. I meanâthey are doing someÂ
serious road building here. Look at these overpasses. On nearly everyÂ
street we have ridden here in Mumbai, they either have an existingÂ
overpass, or they are building one. Which is completely understandable, becauseÂ
they have so much traffic here in the city. I mean, Mumbai is actually the largestÂ
metropolitan area in the whole of India, and it’s one of the largest metropolitanÂ
areas in the world. They need a lot of roads. But this here might actually be a railway, becauseÂ
you can also see here that they’re building, like, a huge building above theÂ
roadâwhich I guess is a station. Yeah, they have a major, major constructionÂ
project going on here. I’m really looking forward to coming back to Mumbai one day andÂ
just seeing how much progress has been done. See all of these road works being finishedÂ
and see how futuristic the city has become. So, it’s time for breakfastâandÂ
look what they have here in Mumbai. Oh yes, 7-Eleven. Let’s go check outÂ
what the Indian 7-Eleven has to offer. Oh my Godâthey have pizzas forÂ
80 rupees. Pizza for breakfast. I think they literally just opened. OhÂ
wow, yesâweâve arrived here at 7:01. Mhm. Oh, nice air conditioning.
So, what do they have in 7-Eleven in India? Theyâve got ice cream. They’ve gotâÂ
is this more ice cream? Ice cream and sorbets. Theyâve got frozen stuff, loads of sodas andÂ
cans, and all kinds of stuff here. Look at this. And actually, it’s also like a small groceryÂ
store as well. You’ve pretty much got all the essentialsânoodles and snacks, toiletries.
But this is what we’re here for: the food. So they’ve got sandwiches, some sort of chickenÂ
strips, and a little chicken bun. Some meal bowls like a biryani, wraps.
Hello, good morning. And over hereâmore snacks, more sandwiches. AndÂ
if you look at the prices, guys, everything is really, really, really cheap. Like literallyÂ
30 rupees for a potato bun. And then coffee is also pretty cheapâ105 for a cappuccino. ThatâsÂ
just under a pound. Not bad, 7-Eleven. Not bad. I think Iâll take a cheesy and egg sandwich.
A cheese and egg? Which one is that? Double egg and cheese.
Double egg and cheese? Oh,  but thereâs only one. We can share. We canÂ
take one with chicken and hamâcheese and ham? Mhm, okay. One this one, thisâand then we share?
Yeah, go on then. Okay, okayâone ham and cheeseÂ
sandwich, one double egg and cheese, one cappuccino.
Okay, thank you. I actually just saw that theyÂ
have toilets here, so I was like, “Okay, Iâll take a cappuccino as well.”
Seventy p for a cheese sandwich, guys. Itâs a small shop, but it really has everything.Â
This is not an advert for 7-Eleven, by the way. Thank you. Bye-bye.
Is it just me, or does it feel  like itâs already 2 degrees warmer?
Two? I think more like five. Oh, and now we’ve got some sunlightâI can showÂ
you guys our newly washed bikes. But not only did we have the bikes washed, we also took themÂ
for a service while we were here in Mumbai. Our first service since starting the trip. And I wasÂ
a little bit worried that there would be a whole lot of stuff to doâbut it wasnât that bad.
I got a new clutch lever put in after that little unfortunate incident.
Okay, it was too much. And we both had new brake pads put in the rearÂ
wheel. We both had new clutch plates put in, actuallyâwhich I didnât realise we would haveÂ
to do. But anyway, the mechanic told us that he thought we should replace them, so we did.
So, on my bike, I had an oil leakâand this was apparently because the top here wasnât screwed onÂ
properly. So they just tightened the screws there. And something was apparentlyÂ
wrong with your steering? Oh yeah, a bearing inside the steering column.
And of course, we had an oil change, spark plug change as well.
I think they are ready to go for  the second part of our journey now.
Yeah, I meanâafter 4,000 km, I think these bikes have done pretty well.
Anyway, we told the guy where we had to  get to and he said these bikes are goodÂ
to go. So he thinks weâre going to make itâand heâs a mechanic, so Iâm happy with that.
Almost forgotâI got a new seat. I was complaining to Minaj, I was saying, âOh, my bum is alwaysÂ
hurting, do you think I can get like a cover or something to make it a bit softer?â And heÂ
was like, âWeâve got here the rally seat.â Now, if you compare it to Laviâs oneâso LaviâsÂ
seat kind of goes down like thisâand then compare it with this one, this one is basicallyÂ
just flat, which means there is a whole  lot of extra padding here.
And look at thisâyep, yep, yepâIâve got a whole lot more padding.
Anyway, so the bikes are fresh and ready to go. Yes, and we’ve also had our breakfast andÂ
a coffee, so we are fresh and ready to go. Letâs go.
[Music] We have a lot of people dressed in whiteÂ
walking on the highway here. Look at that. Where are they going to?
Oh wow, I can hear some music. [Music]
Oh yes. Nice.
Yeah,  it wouldnât be a day in IndiaÂ
without a procession, hey? Cool.
[Music] Thereâs definitely a templeÂ
up thereâa temple on wheels. Oh yeah, lookâtheyâre carrying a shrine.
[Music] A tiny bit chaotic in the morning.
[Music] And then you’ve just got a truckÂ
full of speakers. Wow, look at that. [Music]
Oh, and this looks  like… this looks like the temple on wheels.Â
Waâlook at that! That’s cool. Nice. Really cool. But there we goâweâve had our firstÂ
procession of the day, and itâs not even 8:00. Yes. Wow.
YepâIndia is full of life, 24/7. [Music]
We made it safely out of Mumbai. Yeah, we are finally starting to get out ontoÂ
a bit of a faster highway. Look at thatâmy speed is 80 kilometres an hour.
Waâ85 km an hour. Oh, we are flying along now. Woohoo!
Ohâsomebody lost a shoe. But itâs pretty challenging here on the highways,Â
because actually the slow trucks are staying on the right, as you can see hereâwhich is not theÂ
correct side at all. And that would be okay if all the trucks just did the same thingâbut they donât.Â
Because then, this truck in front is here on the  left. So pretty much the trucks are just in eitherÂ
laneâand unofficially, that is the motorbike lane. So yeah, the highways hereÂ
are an interesting place. We are halfway now through our journeyÂ
for today, and we thought we would treat  ourselves to a nice little snack break.Â
So we decided to go for Sabudanaâis this right? Sabudanaâwhich is actually…
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. …which is actually cassava pearls. And IÂ
think “pearls” because if Iâm cutting this here, you can see the little ballsâandÂ
they actually look like pearls. Can you actually see them?
Sort of. Yeah, you can see itâs made up of little balls.
Yeahâlittle balls here. And this is just so good because itâs deepÂ
fried and then you have it with a yoghurt sauce. Thatâs so delicious. Oh, and you know what?Â
There are peanuts inside as wellâI can taste the peanuts. And obviously, some chili as well.
Look at those valley views ahead. Donât know if you guys can see all the hillsÂ
in the backgroundâthe Western  Ghats mountains rising up from the fog.
And after spending quite a bit of time in the city, that is quite nice to see. AndÂ
it feels really good to be back on the road, getting out of the city, and makingÂ
some progress on this journey to Ladakh. Oh, here we go.
Oh noâit looks like this truck is hitting the wall.
Jesusâgot a bit of a truck slalom going on up this hill.
Lookâthis truckâs trying to get around this truck. Oh noâand this truckâs broken down as well.
Yeah, I just wish that the trucks would just stick to one side, because you can seeâthe slow truckÂ
here is on the right side, and then just up ahead youâve got another gas tanker on the left side.
Come on, guysâjust pick a side. Yeah, like I saidâtruck slalom.
I think now… itâs definitely a jam hereâwhen two lanes become three lanes. Ah, okayâanother broken-down truck.â¨2,000 yearsÂ
later⌠it looks like our highway adventure for the day is finally over.â¨Thank you, NationalÂ
Highways Authority of Indiaâthat was pretty terrifying.â¨Anyway, we did it, and it is currentlyÂ
12:00 and 33°.â¨We are at peak temperature now and we just have 3.3 km to battle our way intoÂ
the center of the cityâsorry, to our hotel. đľ [Music]
Oh wow, look at  this roundabout.â¨So, this cityâNashikâis homeÂ
to 1.5 million people, which sounds very big, but compared to Mumbai, it’s actually prettyÂ
small.â¨This is known as the wine capital of India, because apparently, more than half of the winesÂ
produced in India are made in this region.â¨And I know India is not really well known for wine,Â
but apparently, you can get good wine here. Oh man, do they installÂ
indicators on the cars here? But this city is also incrediblyÂ
historic and spiritually significant.â¨It is one of the four locations where theÂ
sacred Kumbh Mela festival is held, and that is actually the same festival thatÂ
happened very recently in Prayagraj.â¨The festival is held every 12 years and changesÂ
locationsâand Nashik is one of those locations. The name Nashik actually means “nose”âandÂ
that also holds spiritual significance, because that comes from the Ramayana.â¨TheÂ
story goes that here, on the banks of the  River Godavari that runs through the city,Â
Lakshmana cut off the nose of the demon Shurpanakha.â¨I donât know if Iâm pronouncingÂ
those correctly, guys, so be gentleâbut that  is why the city is called Nashikâ”nose.”
Thumbs up from Lavi.â¨This definitely looks like the main street of the cityâthis streetÂ
is busy!â¨Oh no, Iâm stuck behind the bus now. Oh wow, look at this park here.â¨That looksÂ
nice.â¨Looks like a pleasant city here actually.â¨Totally.
đľ [Music] Perfectâthis is the building rightÂ
here.â¨There are a lot of bikes parked outside the front.â¨Oh my goodness.
Good afternoon, guysâwe made it.â¨Happy and alive.â¨Happy and aliveâwow.â¨ThatÂ
was a hectic ride, and Iâm so relieved that we made it here to this nice place in oneÂ
piece.â¨Because taking the highway is definitely not my favorite road.â¨Tomorrow we will try to takeÂ
the smaller road again.â¨Yeah, itâs been full on. The room is really nice.â¨Check that outâwe haveÂ
a very nice and big bed.â¨They made like a small kitchen area here as well with the kettle, whichÂ
is really cool.â¨And then hereâs our bathroom. Ollie is just loading the footage.
đľ [Music] How many gigs today did we shoot?
Itâs not all imported yet, but 131 gig at the moment.â¨I think withÂ
what Iâm putting in now, maybe 160â170. Thatâs too much if you ask me.â¨What didÂ
we film?â¨I have no idea.â¨I donât know. You guys will have seen itâyou justÂ
saw it.â¨So anywayâwhatever that was, that was 160 gigsâ worth.â¨But anyway, IâmÂ
just going to finish importing this footage  and then weâre going to go outsideÂ
and check out the city of Nashik, get something to eat, and then go down to theÂ
river for something really special tonight. Hello.â¨Hello, hi.
đľ [Music] Thank you.â¨Thatâs okay.â¨Thank you, thank you.â¨Bye.
Oh wow, Ollieâlook at this.â¨Oh yeahâwow.â¨That is some apparatus for some seriousÂ
cooking.â¨Jesusâthey are absolutely massive. I mean, my dad prides himself onÂ
his wok, but Dadâthis is a wok. Okay, thereâs supposed to be a restaurant here.â¨WeÂ
checked one on Google Maps and it had quite good reviews.â¨I donât even know where it is.
What do you want?â¨The Kayaka.â¨Oh, this one?â¨Okayâthis one.
Oh, but theyâre not open.â¨Oh,  these are the guys doing paratha, right?
Hello, hello doggy. Hi, hello.â¨Hi, helloâare you open?
No actually, itâs closed today.â¨Okay. I was not hereâI was out ofÂ
the town.â¨Oh, I see.â¨Okay,  okay.â¨No problem.â¨Thank youâthatâs okay.
Oh wow, look at this street, guys.â¨Beautiful. Anyway, weâre just walking down the roadÂ
looking for any place thatâs open to eat. Do they have food?â¨Nopeâthey haveÂ
tires.â¨They have tires.â¨Can we eat tires? From England.â¨England?â¨Yes, yeah. This is the Godavari?â¨ThisâthisÂ
riverâwhatâs the name? Godavari.â¨Godavari?â¨Godavari.â¨Okay.
Oh wow.â¨7:30 p.m.âwhere are you?â¨7, 7:30 p.m is here.â¨Attend where the Aarti here.â¨God? Okay.
So, weâre watching from here?â¨You know, you can sit.â¨You come, comeÂ
this way.â¨You can sit near God. Okay.â¨Thoseâyour friends?
Weâwe married.â¨Married?â¨Are you guys married?â¨No, Iâm single.â¨I am single.â¨Single?â¨I single.
You are a student?â¨Oh, youâre a student.â¨Okay, okayâeven better.â¨Pharmacy?â¨Pharmacy student?
Oh, pharmacy student.â¨Okay.â¨Youâre from  Nashik or…?â¨I am from Uttar Pradesh.
Oh, Uttar Pradesh.â¨Kashiâyou know about? Fragrance?â¨Yes.â¨And this place also does nextânextÂ
year.â¨Next year, this is the place theyâre going  to do the next one.â¨Ah, wow.
This is a beautiful place.â¨This is a beautiful place.
What is the name for  this place?â¨Ramkund.â¨Ramkund?â¨Ramkund.â¨Ramkund.
Okay, so weâre here in Ramkundâand this is the Godavari River?â¨Godavari.â¨Okay.â¨AndÂ
this is a holy place?â¨Yes, yes. Do they have, as well,Â
places to eat here?â¨Yes, yes. How many time you live in India?
Very nice.â¨Weâre staying in India for 6 months.â¨6 months?â¨Yes.â¨Very old.
Weâwe have motorbikes, motorcycles.â¨And weâre riding across India with motorcycles.
Good.â¨Yesâfrom Tamil Nadu to Ladakh.â¨Great.â¨Oh wow, look at this.â¨Whatâwhat is thisÂ
place?â¨This is a temple.â¨Okay.â¨This is a temple. Beautiful.â¨You just go in this sideâgo on thatÂ
side.â¨In this other side.â¨Other side?â¨Okay. We go.â¨Onlyâuhâmany things in eat.â¨Okay, manyÂ
things to eat here.â¨Eat here?â¨Okay.â¨Okay, so we go here now to eat something?â¨EatÂ
something.â¨Okay, we go this way.â¨Okay.â¨Thank  you.â¨Thank you guysâreally nice to meet you.â¨NiceÂ
to meet you.â¨Nice to meet you.â¨Nice to meet you. All rightâwe see you later.â¨Okay, bye-bye.
Okay, so the guys just told us that there is going to be a ritual performed just behind us hereÂ
tonight at 7:30.â¨I think they call it an Aarti, and I think itâs a pujaâa blessingârightÂ
here on the banks of this holy river. đľ [Music]
Open for food?â¨Okay,  thank you.â¨Yeah, I think itâs open for food.â¨Okay,Â
I donât know what food, but they have food.â¨Nice. Coolâweâve chosen something, guys.â¨The only thingsÂ
they do hereâwe had no choice actually, the menu was uselessâthey do noodles, and they do lollipopÂ
chicken, which is basically like marinated fried chicken.â¨So Iâm actually pretty excited for that.
And check out over hereâthis is a picture from, I assume, Kumbh Mela here in Nashik.â¨ThisÂ
is the same place we just walked through, and look how many people there are.â¨Crazy.
Okayâoh thank you.â¨Thank youâawesome, awesome.â¨Nice, nice.â¨Oh, IâmÂ
so looking forward to that. Good flavor?â¨Good flavor.â¨Good flavor.
Oh my godâitâs all chili!â¨Thatâs why the food is so spicy, guys.â¨Thereâs a wholeÂ
mountain of chiliesâwow, thatâs amazing. Who is this man?â¨You see the filmÂ
Sholay?â¨Bollywood film?â¨Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar.â¨Okay.â¨And he was the villain inÂ
that film.â¨He was the villainâGabbar.â¨Gabbar?â¨So heâs the villainâwow.
Like this?â¨Oh wow. I see, I see.â¨So going around the streetâyes.â¨Wow.
đľ [Music] Oh, we saw the pictureâand allÂ
the people were standing here. Nice.â¨Itâs a beautiful sceneÂ
here.â¨Magical.â¨Absolutely magical. đľ [Music] On a trip now?â¨Hello.â¨Yes.â¨Okay.â¨WholeÂ
India.â¨And weâwith the motorcycles.â¨Motorcycles. Youâre from Nashik?â¨No, Iâm fromÂ
Aurangabad.â¨Aurangabad?â¨Okay. Yesâwe go to Aurangabad after.â¨Okay.
So, which places do you want to visit  there?â¨Weâre going to visit Ellora Caves.â¨WeÂ
want to visit Lonar Lake.â¨Okay.â¨Ajanta as well.â¨Ajanta?â¨Okayâyes, yes.â¨So, all the nice. And you can also visit Virul somethingÂ
and Kulwad.â¨Okayânice places.â¨Yes, they’ve got alsoâthere are so many nice places.
Okay, nice.â¨We stay with our friendâhis name is Omar.â¨Heâs from Aurangabad.â¨He lives inÂ
Aurangabad?â¨He livesâhe lives in Aurangabad. Okay, yes.â¨YesâIâm visitingÂ
for the second time here.â¨Okay. Very nice, very nice.â¨How many days you areââ¨Uh,Â
weâre just staying one day here.â¨Tomorrow: Aurangabad.â¨Yes.â¨Happy journey.â¨ThankÂ
you so much.â¨Thank youânice to meet you. Itâs really nice actually, because theyâve madeÂ
a diversion from the main river, and theyâve made like this man-made area, which is basically theÂ
perfect place for just bathing, dipping, blessing. So there we go, guysâwhat a beautiful wayÂ
to end this day.â¨What a beautiful place.â¨And opposite us here, just over there, isÂ
where theyâre going to be doing the  pujaâoffering the Aarti to the river.â¨SoÂ
we will just relax here and just observe all the beautiful things happening here.
I mean, thereâs so much going onâitâs  incredible.â¨And thatâs it from us today.â¨WeÂ
hope you enjoyed the video.â¨If so, please give us a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel,Â
share the video with your friends and family,  comment belowââ¨and we will see you next time.
