🇯🇵 Cycling Fukui: Miyama–Ōno–Heisenji (Katsuyama)–Eiheiji Scenic Loop [4K]
This video captures a scenic cycling loop in Fukui Prefecture, during spring 2025. The route begins in JR Miyama Station in Fukui City and heads east toward Ōno City (大野市), with a brief stop at Heisenji Hakusan Shrine (平泉寺白山神社) in Katsuyama city (勝山市), an ancient temple complex covered in moss.
The ride continues along quiet countryside roads and rolling hills, including the scenic Mai Road (舞ロード), before reaching Eiheiji (永平寺), one of Japan’s most important Zen temples. From there, the route loops back toward Miyama-chō in Fukui City, passing through the Usaka Tunnel (宇坂隧道), forested valleys, and small rural villages.
