2025 Hokkaido Touring April 27, 2025 Good morning It’s Naka I’m starting my second day in Hokkaido Today’s route Thank you to Hotel Sun Art for your help I appreciate the covered parking lot It’s been raining here in Yoichi since morning To protect against the rain, I put my GoPro and smartphone in a waterproof case, put a plastic bag over the USB power supply, put on my rainwear from head to toe, put on my Temres gloves, and rain covers for my boots, so I’m fully prepared for the rain I probably waterproofed my rainwear before the Hokkaido Tour I’ve been using this rainwear for about seven years, and thanks to this waterproofing, it doesn’t get soaked in I’d like to take it easy on the local roads, but it’s raining, so I’m going to take the highway straight ahead It’s raining now, but the forecast is for sunny skies in the direction of Kushiro, today’s destination So, what kind of journey awaits me today? On the left is Otaru city Passing Otaru JCT and heading towards Sapporo I entered Sapporo city A little sunshine is coming out and I can see the blue sky, but just for a moment It’s raining heavily. We take a short break at a PA to take shelter temporarily. We get off the highway at Yubari IC. We entered National Route 274, Ishikari Jukai Road. Ishikari Jukai Road runs through virgin forests from Yubari City to Hidaka. It’s a smooth route through the forest, and you can enjoy touring while looking at the Hidaka Mountains. The weather was unfortunate, but the Jukai Road was a pleasant ride. Next , we’re heading for Nissho Pass. Be careful. Snow has started to mix with the rain. It has turned to snow as we enter Nissho Pass. There is blue sky beyond the mountain, and snow remains near the entrance to the tunnel. I wonder what kind of scenery awaits us at the end of the tunnel. Blue sky and a magnificent view. It’s a wonderful view. I’m so moved that I can’t speak. Sometimes I hear screams from inside the helmet, but they’re just screaming a little because they’re so moved by the view, so I hope you’ll keep a kind eye on them.
