“Garden Surrounded by Plants” Parts 1 to 4, omnibus! It’s full of plants. It’s difficult to take care of. I wanted to reduce the area of the flower bed and make it larger. Organize existing plants and plants. The basic materials are already available. Change the arrangement. Just change the configuration. I think I’ll reassemble it, all stones. The impression changes dramatically! I gave it a clear contrast. Have fun making it. I think it has become a garden. I have summarized the Kanai style garden remake. Kanai style garden remake compilation. A garden surrounded by plants Part 1 to 4 A garden that feels small can be reborn with plants. Change the composition to create a vibrant garden. Good morning , “A garden surrounded by plants” distributed in April and May 2022 . My name is Ryoichi Kanai. I would like to start renovating the garden at a new site. There are so many plants that it is difficult to take care of them. Our customer loves plants, and there are many different types of plants. In terms of space, reduce the area of plants and flower beds. I wanted to expand the area in which I could move. We will renovate your garden using as many materials as you currently have in your garden. This is the job. Thank you for your support. This is the house that will be remade this time. The owner loves plants. From the garden. Various plants are popping out over the fence. When you enter the premises, the garden is on the right side. At the entrance to the garden, there is a planting space and a rose arch. When you go inside, the garden looks like this. It is said that the garden has many plants and is difficult to maintain. First, I would like to explain the current situation and the contents of the remake. It’s kind of like this. There are quite a few ground comparisons, though. Chara Shimatoneliko. I keep the height low to make it easier to maintain. Because the plants are taking up too much space in the garden. Along the fence, trees are planted to surround the garden. Various plants are planted throughout the garden. All of the tall plants will be removed to keep the area tidy. The space itself is as wide as possible. Reduce the area planted with plants. There are too many plants. Plants are also getting in the way of moving spaces. This garden has a lot of plants compared to its area. Organize and clean your plants. We will remove tall trees that are difficult to manage. It used to be a hedge made of kaizukaibuki. I’ll also take Kaizuka. Even though I couldn’t take care of it, it got so big that it ended up in the neighboring property. Prune the vines to make them smaller. I’ll prune it and make it smaller. I also reduced the size of the plants that protruded from the front wall. The bulrushes that have become a hedge are difficult to manage, so they will be removed. There are also stepping stones. The approach will also move. Utilize this and re-lay it. We would like to make the living space more spacious. The approach will also be redone and rebuilt. Iwagumi is also appearing on stones. Iwagumi also lay down sharp objects. I’ll think about the big stones when I get the tall trees. The stone structure is covered with plants and cannot be seen much. We will also use this to rebuild. Reupholstery is not possible at this stage. We would like to do something to prevent soil from entering here. The tile stage in the center of the garden will be a huge undertaking if destroyed, so we will use it as is. The basics are the materials that come out. I think it’s filled with bricks or stones. I’ll use that to rearrange the structure. In order to keep the space tidy, large trees will be removed first. First of all, we will remove tall trees, but old trees that have been around for many years. Customers sprinkle salt or cleanse themselves with alcohol. The trees that will be cut down and uprooted are trees that have grown here for many years. The customer left us with that feeling. In my opinion. I find it difficult to cut trees that are older than me. Ah, that’s what you mean. Or rather, it can’t be cut. Emotionally. When you are 70 years old, it will be difficult to cut down trees that are over 70 years old. If possible, such trees should be cut down by young people. Because it’s a matter of feeling. We were given sake, rice, and salt. That’s what the story was about. Kanai’s Point! Since ancient times, it has been believed that “gods reside in trees,” and when they are removed, people sometimes purify them to express their gratitude! Kanai himself says, “I get worried when there are trees older than me.” This time, the customer cleansed the tree before removing it. Start working! Start by removing the roots from the largest tree. It would be difficult to remove the roots manually, so we will use a crane truck to remove the roots. Find the root and cut it. Pull it out little by little with a crane. The largest tree has now been removed. Remove other unnecessary plants in the same way. Just removed a large tree. The space has expanded so much. Next, we will also remove the Kaizukaibuki facing the property next door. Although it has been successfully used as a hedge to hide the area, it is difficult to maintain and the ventilation in the garden is poor. I cut down a kaizukaibuki tree that was completely blindfolded. The wind started to pass through and I felt refreshed. The roots have grown all the way to the bottom of the block. It is dangerous to lift it with a crane. I’ll dig a little and cut it. Kaizukaibuki will not germinate from there. I think it’s okay because it will rot eventually. I was planning to use a crane to pull out the roots of Kaizuka Ibuki, but the roots had grown all the way to the bottom of the block. This time, I decided to cut the tree a little deeper than the ground, as it can be dangerous to move the roots in a careless manner. The felling of the Kaidukaibuki has now been completed. A sense of freedom was born. The uprooting of the large tree has been completed. It’s like arranging the small plants and composing the ground (the shape of the garden). I talked to my wife and said, “I don’t need Mokkoubara.” Organize the plants neatly by separating the plants you need. Next, we will organize the smaller plants. “Red Dracaena” Red dracaena. He says he plans to replant the dracaena because it will serve as an accent. The roses in the arch are also difficult to maintain, so I don’t need them. With that said, I decided to remove it. As I select the plants I want to use, I keep organizing them. I feel much refreshed now. Yeah. This corner is scenic. I want to make it smaller, but I want to keep it because it has a good balance. There were various plants like daffodils and tulips. He says he plans to leave this corner to a certain extent and prepare it. Organize the plants along the road. All that’s left to do is arrange the whole thing and arrange the plants. Reassemble the masonry and create a planting area. I think this is how the stones come out. After organizing the plants, you can now see the original stone arrangement. We also found some small natural stones, so we will reassemble them and remake them. What should I do with this large stone? I’ll reset this as well. Since it’s standing up, I lay it down face down. If this continues, only the stones will stand out. If you lay it down, it will be flat. Place flowers or sit down. This way, the sharp side is on top. I think I’ll put the stones face down and reassemble them to give them a softer feel. All stones. Just by trimming the edges on this side, the whole thing will feel softer. I thought I could use it as it is, but… this landscape stone is too conspicuous, so I decided to lay it down and use it to give it a softer impression. Large stones are turned using a crane. The impression changes just by changing the direction. I agree. It’s softer when you lie down than when you’re standing. I think they used stones in a “Japanese style” style before. The plants are also dracaenas. It seems to match the plants. I agree. Kanai’s Point! Just change the direction of the stones to create a softer impression! He says he uses them depending on the plant and the overall atmosphere. Create a planting area using small stones. It’s like arranging stones along the edge. Rearrange the stones from your garden to create a new border for your planting area. The sides of the approach are bordered with small stones. This stone will later be fixed with mortar from the back. The structure is constructed so that the area starting from the larger stone is slightly higher. The stone reassembly is now complete. The existing stone could be removed and reassembled. It will take the form of planting within this frame. This empty space will become a walking space. It will be quite wide. The approach will also be broader. In order to clearly demarcate the planting area. Edge it with mortar or something. Align the existing stepping stones to the same height. I’ll hit them all. While picking up soil. All the removed soil is put into the raised planting area. That way I wouldn’t have to dispose of the soil either. We will also reinstall the original tile and stone approach. First, remove the existing stones and tiles. Scrape the soil from the approach and put it into the planting area. Once the ground is leveled, the stones will be reinstalled. Previously, tiles and stones were placed alternately, but this time only stepping stones were used. The stepping stones on the approach have also been reinstalled. Move the plants here. Until now, this was a planting area, but it has been lowered to this extent. The planting area that has been here until now. Bring it down here to make it smaller. This all came out. Use that to cut the edges. Use this all over the planting area. There are places where I use a little bit of the Pinko that I brought with me to make up for the shortage. All flower beds will be bordered. Reuse scrap wood from your garden to line the edges of your flower beds. We will also hem the approach sides. The pink room was washed out with mortar. I’m going to put on makeup. Gravel from the garden was placed in the area bordered with mortar. After finishing the mortar by washing it out. The edging of the flower bed is also complete. The fence has also come out. Use a fence to cover the area with vertical boards. After removing the Kaizukaibuki, you can now see the original fence. Attach the 1×4 lumber directly to the fence. Use the existing fence as a base. Fix the white painted wood directly to the aluminum fence. Kanai’s Point! By doing this, you can utilize the existing fence and change the design without having to remove it. After sanding and repainting, your new fence is complete. I’m going to replant them all and rearrange them. Plants that have been dug up will also be replanted. The entrance area is mainly composed of dracaenas and cycads. I changed the arrangement of the plants that were originally planted to improve the scenery. Replace the stepping stones and keep the height constant. The only thing left to do is to put on the “Eco Gloves” eventually. “Eco Globe” is made of permeable hardening soil. This is something that you just spray and sprinkle with water and it hardens. Water will seep in even if there is a slight slope. There are no problems when walking. Weeds can also be suppressed. The area other than the planting area is an eco globe. Spread Eco Globe on the entire floor surface other than the planting area. Before that, I’ll do some high pressure washing. Before finishing, the entire area is pressure washed to remove any dirt that can be removed. I will finish the eco gloves. The basic raw materials are sand and Masago soil. This is called the shower method. Sprinkle water on it and it will harden the next day. So it’s the easiest. Apply a little pressure from above. In terms of strength, it is not good if there is air inside. If you press it hard, it won’t sink even if you pour water on it. By the way, eco gloves are not often stocked at home centers. You can easily purchase similar products such as “Hardening Soil” at home centers. Is it okay for people to ride? Yeah. If that’s the extent. Heavy objects and cars are not allowed. So it’s not suitable for parking. Absolutely impossible. It feels like it’s a make-up on the surface to prevent grass from growing. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect though. Effective against weeds. Kanai’s Point! Eco gloves can easily control weeds and are recommended for gardening beginners! However, they say that you need to be careful as it will break if heavy objects are placed on it. Sprinkle plenty of water to finish. Finally, wipe off any dirt and let it dry for a day. Eco globe paving has also been completed. This completes the process. The garden makeover of the “garden surrounded by plants” has been completed! Here is the before and after! Do you have a garden where you like plants but have grown too many? The entrance also had a heavy impression with a lot of plants. Organizing the plants creates a clean and bright impression. This is composed mainly of Dracaena. The approach to the planting area was messy as there were no partitions. By edging the planting area, the approach feels wider. The edges are flushed out and I no longer have to worry about weeds with the eco gloves. The garden felt small because it was surrounded by plants. Organize the plants and change the composition to create a spacious and open space. I removed the plants that were the biggest and the most difficult to care for. Reassemble the stones to create a rock garden-style flower bed. By reducing and limiting the planting area. It requires less maintenance and makes the site feel larger. The neighboring land had poor ventilation due to heavy rain. A new fence was also installed, creating a bright and airy space. This planting area reuses waste wood from the garden. Now I have a garden that was surrounded by plants and was having trouble taking care of. Garden makeover is complete! This completes the process. Until now, most of the plants were tall trees. There were also some dracaenas hidden inside. I put together the idea that Dracaena is Takagi. The overall look has become slimmer. I also use things like curbstones that I found. What’s new? About 20 Pinkoro stones. Also, eco gloves. It was crowded because we planted plants on top of tall trees. All you need to do is separate the planting area from the space you want to expand. Until now, there was grass growing on the approach. The approach becomes narrow as grass grows. However, this time I used eco gloves to suppress weeds. I think we can maintain a space this large. You only have to care for this flower bed. I also reassembled most of these stones. Up until now, it had been a Japanese atmosphere. I laid it down as much as possible. I rested it in a soft, prone position. In the case of a Japanese garden, it is like a “standing stone”. I often use stone shapes. Round and smooth stones are not used very often. If you use stones face down, it will create an atmosphere that matches the current plants. Dracaena or cycad. It was configured accordingly. This concludes the remake. Up until now, I think there have been problems with plants getting in the way and no matter how you plant them, the balance doesn’t match. I created a clear contrast between the flowerbed and the approach. I think I can enjoy the garden from now on. The air flow has changed. I think this will help the plants grow better. I think the result is a garden that you can have fun creating. I would like to end this. thank you very much. This is the end of the “Garden Surrounded by Plants” compilation! If you want to see more details, check out the original video! Look forward to next time!
