ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveller and YouTube creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveller, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.

My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher—my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on YouTube, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.

    Just curious: why only semi-detached. (In the US that's called a duplex.) Had to look up box room. The Conservatory would clinch it for me. The shambles reminded me of a Chinese Hutong. Is your Husband the Composer? Cheers.

    Omg, Syifa. I lived near Chesterfield for two years and my son was born there. I would really be surprised if you decide to settle down there. I suggest the beautiful village of Ashbourne, not far from Matlock. We enjoyed our stay there when we visited UK last year for the last time.

    Thoughts from an old guy: The smaller the location, although possibly idylic, can be trickier for transport links. Also I noticed the first house had that nice open space at the back; in my experience they get built on even when originally called green belt. At least if already developed you have a choice of type of property and amount of overlook. Derbyshire towns in my opinion a good choice. We now live in the South east and access to other areas difficult because we are on the wrong side of London. Midland area is well situated like the hub of a wheel with spokes out in all directions for exploring,

    It's interesting to see how the properties and neighbourhoods of smaller towns look like. I like the 3rd house just cos of the tiered garden 😆

    Its been on my list, and I was so excited to finally find time to see it. Chesterfield looks indeed very charming, and houses 1, 2 & 3 all have heartwarming aspects to them – you probably could transform each of them into your cozy home! If I would choose between those 3 (and have the money) I would probably go for no.1 – it won me over immediately. No 3, although beautiful, might be too small for you guys, is my feeling.

    I believe that a final choice always has an 'irrational' factor to it, which is a 'falling-in-love' which can't be fully explained. You will know, when you know. But for now the journey just has started, and there's other places & properties to look at. Where will you go next?!
    A factor that has entered the priority lists mainly in the last 10-15 years in the UK is risk-of-flooding. I would always feel more assured, if my property is not on one of the lower altitudes or close to a river, which could swell easily. And statistics don't help here anymore, as we face entirely new weather conditions nowadays.
    Something that I almost can't imagine anymore is to move to a place which is not in walking distance to the sea. I feel so privileged, to have that + an extended dunes area close by my home. But that might be different for you. (Chesterfield would be out of my league here).

    From what I've heard you both saying, you have a fairly good set of basic expectations, and know what is needed for you. That should do. As I imagine, despite of settling down, you will want to have a fairly easy access for long-distance travelling – so direct trains to London will be a plus (which I heard you saying Chesterfield has).
    Thats it from me. One pity I have, which is that there's no way, that you'll move close to my home: I'd love to have you as neighbours!! But I live in the North-East of Scotland, and that is not on your wish list, and its not the best spot for traveling abroad… too many sheep on the road to the next airport!!
