LEAVE IT ALL TO ME. For too long, the dark story of Nora Dershlit has existed in the shadows, a chilling cautionary tale about the dangers of idolizing celebrities a little too much. Today, I pull back the curtain on this deeply disturbed individual. It started innocently enough – just a young girl who really, really loved the web show iCarly — but Nora’s adoration mutated into something much more sinister.

Nora is a chilling embodiment of what can happen when fandom devolves into dangerous, uncontrolled mania. Her cautionary story of obsession, mental illness and depravity must serve as a stark warning about the potential horrors that could be unleashed when someone loses their grip on reality. I’ll also talk about how she may have been inspired by another crazed fan character: Annie Wilkes from Stephen King’s Misery, and how iCarly predicted future staples of the internet video industry. For internet creators, Nora is just one of many fears we hope to NEVER see come to fruition…

  1. If you’ve seen the episode where Carly and Freddy are stuck at miss Briggs’s apartment, you’ll notice that she has a case of celebrity worship syndrome

  2. I would like to point out the while this video is clearly, not that deep, but i think Nora might actually have Borderline and not Bi-polar. Bi-polat is normally waves of emotions over longer periods of times, while Borderline has many mood swings within a day, obsessive behavior, having a favorite person, and splitting. Her emotional swings within minutes are mainly triggered by things happening. And he splitting could have been when Carly made her enraged and suddenly wanted them dead lol

  3. The TRUE HORROR comes from the people hired to work at footfetishglancingminers NICKELODEON company and crew…yeahhhh iykyk

  4. Love how he has to add in the Jeanette McCurdy stipulation. I get that she didn’t have a choice, kind of, but at a certain age it becomes harder to control kids. If she didn’t want to do tv by 15 she could’ve done something about it. Fact is, she is like many child actors, she loved the fame, then her career kind of plateaued, now she’s clinging for relevancy by any means necessary because this stardom is all she knows. It’s actually kind of sad that we prop these people up as almost gods when the real story should be the producer Dan Schneider and the other producers and directors at Nick and even Cartoon Network, and even Hollywood in general. For some reason Hollywood is the only place in America that actually has a rape culture

  5. 18:06 kinda frustrating. Like bro, you out number her 3 to 1! And one of you is SAM PUCKETT. Surely you could throw stuff at her, grab the axe, something?

  6. I want to scream every time this guy tries to give diagnosis to these fictional characters by reading symptoms and then putting some random behaviour against said symptom. As someone with bipolar disorder I find this extremely offensive, because in reality the way the "symptom" presents is so different than what is being put towards in these videos.
