Now let’s get this week’s Rin2 Ch. started!
This time, we present a special edition: "On-Road Tour around Mt.Fiji".
Participants are 3 guys on Tricker/WR250R/WR450F(Motard)
and 3 girls on XSR700/XSR155/Serow.
The girl on XSR155 is making her debut on Rin2 Ch.,
And the girls on XSR700/Serow are already regular members!
We will leave from Kakegawa Roadside Station and head east on R1.
Cross the Oi-River
Now we’re on Sei-Sei Bypass.
Mt.Fuji is visible here,
but it’s a bit hazy due to the influence of yellow sand.
We’ll take a break at Satta Pass.
On the left is…
Mt.Fuji!
This is the place depicted in this ukiyo-e print.
While admiring Suruga Bay and Mt.Fuji,
we’ll travel along the old Tokaido Road.
"It’s becoming quite clear now."
As we’ve come this far, there’s not much influence from the yellow sand anymore.
We pass through the old post-station town of Yui.
Coming down to Fuji City via Oshiro Pass on Pref. Rd.76,
Mt.Fuji right in front of us!
Move on next to the shrine “Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha”.
Please standardize the pronunciation of “Asama” as either ‘Sengen’ or ‘Asama’!
We’ve now on Pref. Rd.180.
It was hot just a moment ago, but now it is getting a little chilly.
So, we’ll take a break at Mizugatsuka Park.
Right behind is…
Mt. Fuji!
As we’re moving on next to the JGSDF Takigahara Camp,
Someone was taking pictures.
So, looking back and…
Boom, Mt. Fuji!
Then, we took on the Subashiri Road(R138),
And arrived at the Lake Yamanaka!
First, for lunch,
we’ve come here in Fujiyoshida City.
Local speciality "Yoshida Udon"!
After lunch, we came to the Mt.Fuji Viewing Spot of the Kawaguchi Asama Shrine,
known as the "Torii Gate in the Sky."
There was a long line for the photo spot.
So tool a photo with this stone.
It’s OK because it captures both the Torii gate and M. Fuji!
Next, we came to Oshino Hakkai.
I guess this is all from the underground streams of Mt.Fuji.
Next to the souvenir shop is the Nakaike Pond.
Though it’s a small pond, it’s surprisingly 8m deep.
I found out later that this pond is not a "Hakkai" pond, but an artificial pond.
But this pond was the most popular!
The next day…
It’s also sunny today! We’ll head back while visiting the Fuji Five Lakes.
First, starting from Lake Yamanaka!
Most people take photos at this parking lot,
but we took ours here, at Hirano-no-hama.
Next is Lake Kawaguchi.
Where’s Mount Fuji?
Right here!
Next is Lake Saiko.
Maybe it’s because you can only see the head of Mt.Fuji,
it feels quieter unlike other lakes.
Next is Lake Shojiko.
If you go all the way to the back here,
you can get a good view of Mt. Fuji.
Finally, Lake Motosu!.
Oh, it’s a TZR250SPR!
Maybe it’s more rare than Mr. Fuji.
We’ll take a break at “Asagiri Kogen” Roadside Station.
If you enter the parking lot on the right,
the building obstructs the view of Mt.Fuji,
so I recommend to go to the parking lot at the back if you wan to take photos of Mt.Fuji.
We also dropped by Shiraito Falls.
It’s been 50 years since I last visited.
It’s been cleaned up here and there a lot!
Finally, we went back taking the Meiji Utsunoya Tunnel, known as the "Meiji Tunnel".
It was great to see plenty of Mt.Fuji!
