🚉 300년 만에 다시 열린 옛길! 경기와 강원을 이어주던 ’10km’ 옛길 트레킹 코스 | 📸 대중교통 당일치기 여행 |🇰🇷 Ancient trail in KOREA

Hello? Today, you can get there in half a day by train. We will introduce you to a wonderful trekking course. Today’s course is one I always return to in spring. It is an easy course to walk as it is mostly downhill and flat. This is ‘Sinwon Station’ on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line.

There may be many people whose name is unfamiliar to you. It’s a very small station, but the Namhan River flows leisurely right in front of the station. Today’s trekking course begins to the left of ‘Sinwon Station’

If you pass ‘Sinwon Station’ and go a little further, you will see a tunnel on the right. There is a nice mural at the tunnel entrance. These are all paintings related to the independence movement. The picture is really unique, right?

If you go through the tunnel and go up a little, you will see a special space on the right. It is called ‘Myogol Aeowa’ Park. * ‘Aeowa’: means the house I love This is an independence activist born in Yangpyeong. It is a memorial park for teacher ‘Mongyang Yeo Woon-hyeong’.

The Taegeuk symbol on the floor is very clear, right? ‘Mongyang Eorok-gil’ continues above the park. Many sayings by ‘Yeo Woon-hyeong’ are engraved on rocks. There was also a nice rest area. The shade was very cool 🙂 There is the ‘Mongyang Memorial Hall’ and his birthplace here.

Although it is small, the facilities look very good. If you are interested, you may want to take a look. After passing the memorial hall, there is a fork in the road. From here, go to the village on the left. The sign says ‘Cheonggyesan Mountain, Buyongsan Mountain Hiking Trail’ entrance.

If you go inside the small village, you will see the entrance to the hiking trail. For reference, today’s course only has a slope for the first 2km of the entire course. After that, it’s only downhill and flat, so it’s good for walking. From the first hiking trail

Sign, go in the direction of ‘Buyongsan’. The slope is not very high and is gentle. Because the larches and pine trees are dense, it looks like there will be cool shade even in the summer. Now that spring is in full swing, flowers are starting to bloom everywhere.

If you look at the ridge of ‘Buyongsan Mountain’, you can see ‘Cheonggyesan Mountain’ in the distance. I walk slowly along a small mountain path. You can think of the hill you are walking on as the last climb. After that, it continues to go downhill.

From the summit, go down in the direction of ‘Mokwang-ri’. Even though it’s a holiday, it’s quiet so it’s the perfect course for a quiet walk. At confusing intersections, it will be easier to follow the ribbon. If you go down a little, you will reach a dense fir forest path.

There is a dense forest along the narrow path. Personally, this is my favorite section. A narrow path, barely wide enough for one person to walk, winds through a dense fir forest. It feels like phytoncide is pouring down 🙂 Cross the small wooden bridge and continue walking along the pleasant forest path.

This is an easy course to walk as it continues down a gentle slope from the top. Now we have arrived at the entrance to ‘Mokwang-ri’ ‘Mokwang-ri’ is a small village, but there are many country houses due to the beautiful scenery and good feng shui. There is also a pretty cafe.

After passing the cafe, walk to the left along the road for a while. Isn’t this the famous place for ‘Baesan Imsu’? 🙂 If you go down a little, there is a ‘Mokwang 2-ri’ bus stop on the left. Just pass the stop and go a little further inside.

A narrow path continues to the left again. On this rock, a poem by ‘Hanum Lee Deok-hyeong’, whom we all know well, is written. This course feels like walking down a quiet and peaceful country road. Sometimes I just bow my head and pass by 🙂 Suddenly, an old tile-roofed house appears.

This is where the tomb and memorial stone of ‘Hanum Lee Deok-hyeong’ are located. This is a monument commemorating the merits and deeds of the teacher ‘Hanum Lee Deok-hyeong’, who appears in the well-known anecdote of ‘Five Seongs and Haneum’. The grave is located about 300 meters away in the mountains.

From here, it is a walking course while listening to the clear sound of water. After passing the monument, the road continues again. If you cross the small wooden bridge, there is a restroom. Please note. When you reach the crosswalk, cross the street and continue downward.

I’m walking along the quiet rural village of Yangpyeong. It is a village called ‘Buyong 1-ri’. Now turn right towards the boarding school. Just keep going left in front of the blue building. Because it is a holiday, the rural village is very quiet. From now on, follow the ‘Dumulmeori Naru-gil’ sign.

It continues in the direction of ‘Yangsu Station’ This is an easy flat course where you just keep walking along the stream. The Gyeongui-Jungang Line subway passes in front of me. Just cross the bridge below. The ‘KTX Ieum’ train is also passing by 🙂 Cross the bridge and go straight to the right.

Walk along the railroad tracks and cross to the tunnel below. It took about 2 and a half hours to get here, about 9km. It was easy to walk because it was mostly downhill and flat. When you come out of the tunnel, you will see a fairly busy town.

This is ‘Yangsu Station’ on the Gyeongui Jungang Line. A little away from ‘Yangsu Station’ are the famous ‘Dumulmeori’ and ‘Semiwon’. It would be nice to apply the course in various ways 🙂 In front of ‘Yangsu Station’, on days ending on the 1st and 6th ‘Yangsu-ri Traditional Market’ opens

There are a lot of restaurants here, and I had a satisfying, slightly late lunch. You can take the subway right from ‘Yangsu Station’ and return, but I prefer to walk a little further because there is a view that you should not miss when you come here.

There are two parallel bridges in front of me. Next to the new bridge is the abandoned railway bridge over the Bukhangang River. This bridge, which is already familiar to those who ride bicycles, is also good for walking. There are also sections of the floor made of glass.

I get a strange feeling when I walk under a rusty railway bridge structure. Being able to cross the Bukhangang River on foot is a privilege available only to those who have walked all the way here. Cross the railroad bridge and now turn right.

If you are riding a bicycle, this is the direction to Chuncheon. The bike path leads directly to ‘Ungilsan Station’ I walked a total of 12km today. There is a hill only at the beginning and then it continues downhill. If you want to walk comfortably, please walk in this direction.

Thank you for watching today!
