[ 2026 Norman’s JOGLE by Brompton ] [ Day 19 – Exeter to Launceston ]

Although today’s ride was just over 70 kilometers, the terrain in Devon is constantly undulating. My bike computer had already logged nine climbs exceeding one kilometer in length—not to mention countless shorter ones—so I decided to set off early, around 7:00 AM.
A few kilometers out of Exeter, I turned onto the A377, where the morning commuter traffic was heavy. After about 10 kilometers, I reached Crediton; I continued along the A377 for another 10 kilometers before turning onto the A3072. Five kilometers past Bow, I turned onto the B3215 and rode another 10-plus kilometers to reach Okehampton. By then, I had covered 42 kilometers, with 30 kilometers remaining to my destination.
After stopping for lunch, I continued on. Leaving Okehampton, I turned onto the A386, and a few kilometers later, I switched to an unnamed, unnumbered road; traffic was light, and the route took me through several villages. After 25 kilometers, I reached the outskirts of Launceston and turned onto a local cycle path.
Launceston is built atop a hill, so I had to push my bike up a slope of 70–80 meters along the cycle path—quite a strenuous effort. My hotel was located right next to Launceston Castle. I ran into a bit of a mix-up today: the hotel couldn’t find my reservation at first. When they finally located it using my name, it turned out to be booked for 2027. In the end, they gave me a budget room; since I wasn’t having breakfast, the rate was lower.

今天雖然只有70多公里，但Devon都是起起起伏伏的地形，馬錶已經有9個超過壹公里的爬坡，更短的更不計其數，於是決定早些7時許便出發。
離開Exeter數公里之後便轉入A377，早晨上班車流很大。大概10公里便抵達Credition，繼續沿A377行多10公里便轉入A3072。經過Bow之後多5公里便轉入B3215 10多公里便抵達Okehampton，已經踩了42公里，尚餘30公里便抵達目的地。
找了個地方吃午餐後繼續，離開Okehampton 壹段時間便轉入A386幾公里後便轉入壹條沒有路名及編號的馬路，車流不大而經過幾個村鎭。25公里後便抵達Launceston的外圍，我轉入壹條本地的單車徑。
Launceston建於山頂上，由單車徑需推車上斜坡70-80米，都幾辛苦，酒店就在Launceston Castle旁邊。今日攪了個大頭佛，什麼都找不到預訂單，酒店用我的名字找到是2027年的。最後酒店都給了個budget房間給我，因為我不吃早餐所以價錢平些。
