Day 22 bikepacking across Japan 🇯🇵

Day 22 biking across Japan 🇯🇵

Anddd I foolishly ran into a pole 😂

Today we’d cover 50 miles from Rikuzentakata to Tome and along the way, while looking down at my phone to check maps, I hit a pole 😅

I know I’ll get a lot of comments about this one. Lesson learned, don’t text and ride 😂😵‍💫

Luckily I’m built like a cat and stuck the landing 🙏🏻😎

Be sure to hit the follow button to see what kind of crazy happens on Day 23 ✌🏼🫎🇯🇵

  1. That’s why it’s now illegal to look at ur phone while cycling in Japan. Earphones or whatever that can potentially block hearing is also illegal.
Als cycling next to one another is also illegal (you must be in a single file line).
And oh yeah, you can’t cycle on sidewalks unless there’s posted signage that specifically says you can, so you must cycle next to cars.
Dumbest new law: cars can’t overtake cyclists unless they’re at least 1.5 meters away from the cyclist or if the car is going slower than 15kph (like why??? Barely any bicycles are slower than 15 kph so it’s physically impossible to overtake a bicycle without getting fined in Japan now 😂 good luck )
