Cycle here this Easter? A true gem, beautiful Port Stephens, NSW. Scenic, ambient, relaxing tour.
Port Stephens is a winner of a holiday destination in New South Wales, Australia. Located just north of Newcastle, and only a 2.5 hour drive from northern Sydney, it’s a great weekend escape.
With scenery so beautiful that you’ll think that you’ve been left the country and arrived in some South East Asian destination.
In this cycle tour I’ll take you along the Bartlett Cycleway, starting in Corlette. We’ll then check out the shopping district and marina in Nelson Bay before meandering along some beaches till we reach Shoal Bay. From there we’ll detour to the Tomaree Headland, right to where the bay meets the sea. While there we can check out some gun emplacements left over from World War II. Then it’s down southwards to Fingal Bay via the pretty Fingal Cycleway. The tour ends at Barry Park Lookout, where we can soak in some great coastal views of the headlands and Fingal Island.
Along the way I’ll provide you with some text based information about the areas that we visit.
