The scenery at “Haji Dam” (Lake Yachiyo) in Akitakata City, Hiroshima, is simply overwhelming.
An incredible 3,000 cherry trees encircle the entire lake, creating a continuous, breathtaking ring of pink. No matter where you look or how far you walk, you are surrounded by a sea of cherry blossoms. The sheer scale of this “pink world” is something you have to see to believe.
In this video, we’ll take you through the cherry blossom tunnels along the lakeside cycling path, show you the unique V-shaped dam structure, and share info on getting the official “Dam Card.”
