Saudi Arabia started like this
Cycling the world – Asia: episode 25
I wake up hidden in the bushes near the coast in Kuwait after a night of wild camping. The air is thick with humidity and the heat hits early. I am still not feeling one hundred percent and every kilometre feels heavier than it should. I stop at a fast food place, then push along the highway towards the border with Saudi Arabia, taking breaks at petrol stations just to cool down and drink something cold. Slowly I grind my way to the frontier and finally get stamped into Saudi Arabia, country number 66 of this endless ride around the world.
I reach Khafji under almost unbearable humidity and eventually find a discreet place to camp. The next day is long, flat and exposed with endless stretches of road and barely any services. I stop at a Turkish restaurant for food before heading back into the empty desert. By sunset I find another hidden camping spot off the road. The following day the wind picks up and turns dusty, almost like a sand storm. It feels borderline dangerous to stay on the highway. By late afternoon I finally leave the main road and reach Al Jubail, where I camp behind a mosque on the edge of town.

Welcome to Saudi Arabia brother!
I will send you my number on instagram in case you want to sleep at our guest room near Dammam airport if it's on your way 😉
Se cuida tudo de bom 👍🏻👍🏻🇧🇷
Your original plan to ride from the north of the country was spot on. The north is really beautiful and the mountains are great scenery. You’re really a strong cyclist for riding in that hot weather and windy conditions! I’ve bee cycling in the Kingdom for almost ten years, so I know you are a real beast!
You're definitely correct about the humidity 🥵
In fact, the highest dew point ever recorded was: 35 °C (95 °F) — in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, 8 July 2003
Great Video and great Wind surfing 😅. And finally Tortellini again!! Va bene!! I wish I could eat them, but all of the ones you can buy in Germany contain Milk products….a no go for me with lactose intolerance 😢
Hi davide…do you use often the handlebar mount for the camera…or you regret buying it
In those conditions you need at least 11 litres/days.
buonasera signore travelli, this is the first video i watch of you, i felt nothing but amazement and infinite respect towards your endeavour man, crazy how a 23 y/o guy can easily be humbled by someone in their 40ies, ride safe and enjoy, bravissimo maestro
DAVIDE, YOU deserve a lot more than pasta! What a ride! Journey on buddy!
Sweeping the sand…liking for shells
Fences and landmi es….God created the earth 🌎 ♥️ for the creatures to be free. What is fence ???😂😂❤?
You ca take the coke out on the road… not one say nothing. This is one reason why I like Travelli his channel so well.
Love that country, 22 times in a total of four non-consecutive years.
Feels like 48 with 99% humidity, I'd last 30 minutes in that. 😱
