壮大なダートムーアの森の失敗!
Today I rode my Specialized Creo e-bike to the stunning forest gravel roads around Fernworthy Reservoir on Dartmoor. The 55-mile route packed in over 5,500 ft of climbing. The weather was chilly with grey skies and occasional light rain, but the reservoir looked breathtaking, and the forest trails were a joy. I did get lost at one point and had to backtrack to familiar paths. The return leg was an absolute blast—I had plenty of battery left, so I cranked it into turbo mode and raced up and over the Devon hills.
Fernworthy Reservoir is a man-made lake located on Dartmoor in Devon, south-west England. Built in the 1930s by the Torquay Corporation to supply water to the town, it sits in a scenic, remote part of the moor surrounded by coniferous forest and open moorland. It’s a popular spot for walking, fishing (especially for brown trout), and birdwatching. The area also has historical interest, with nearby Bronze Age stone rows and hut circles.
My observations are the subject of this ride. So come along and enjoy another great cycling adventure.

Thats amazing range with the extender batt and 45 % left!, thanks for posting Harvey
Mate that overtake was just awful.
Thank you for sharing. Really enjoyable ride. I am hoping to do some of those trails next year.
Great views and hills. All the dog walkers found out that you were filming this morning, so they all took their dogs out 😂😂
It makes me laugh when people complain about e-bikes, but I find now that I'm out and about again it makes me want to go further and enjoy the beautiful countryside we have available to us. I tend to keep the power low on the outward trip as well. The van really didn't care about you on the overtake, looked really close. Anyway take care out there and safe riding! That's also the joy of Devon, for every hill you go down you can be sure that shortly there will be a steeper one waiting to be climbed!
Another cracking video, that climb from Dunsford to Doccombe is hard on a 12 speed mountain bike which I have done several times but never done it with electric assist so might try that soon
Dave, observing your problem with the 'barely existent' path, or any other mapping issues. Wahoo/Komoot use OpenStreetMap (cycling). A really useful new feature on the Roam could be a function to mark a location when there is a problem, the Wahoo APP when back home to open a link to OpenStreetMap to report the problem. I registered with OpenStreetMap but found it rather tedious and sometimes difficult to remember where the problem was.
I was out riding there a couple of months back. Amazing trails, though a few of them did just seem to stop abruptly or turn unrideable all of a sudden; that's the problem with forestry tracks.
Another great video and you have some lovely lanes in Devon, especially when no traffic. The water level looked a bit low in the reservoir, and I thought it rains a lot down there ;0)) .
Every time I go for a ride on my motorbike, I start out sunny and when I get to Moreton it goes dark and forboding.
Hi Harvey stunning ride and no one else about . Hours of fun lol .but I think you were breaking the speed limit going down that hill 46 love that buzz mate .stay safe take care .looking forward to the next adventure 👍🚴💨
This looked like an amazing ride…out in the woods with fewer cars…wonderful adventure….Thank you!
