My Body Gave Up in Kuwait. 69/38
Cycling the world – Asia: episode 24
My journey continues into Kuwait with my first stop in Al Jahra before heading to Kuwait City. My host Abdullah welcomes me with local dishes and turns out to be a well known Arab singer. In Kuwait City I stay with Dr Khaled, but things take a worrying turn when I nearly pass out several times. My blood pressure drops to 69 over 38 and for a moment I am genuinely concerned. After recovering, Dr Khaled takes me to a traditional Diwan and even hosts one himself where I am invited as a guest to present my round the world cycling adventure and answer questions about life on the road. In this episode you will hear many of those questions and conversations. I also visit the oldest Diwan in the city, the Grand Mosque and the old souk before riding on towards Saudi Arabia. Before reaching the border I camp discreetly near the coast, hidden between bushes.

I would love to hear the answers to the questions you got at the Diwan, maybe a in separate, short video?
Where do you find all these kind people to stay with? Their hospitality seems lovely! Also, I didn't even know one can have blood pressure that low. Holy crap.
What an amazing host Mohammed is ❤❤
Davide, what you need is a big bowl of pasta and a good red wine.
Made in Japan in scamming world is still pretty good😅.
Love your videos mate, keep it up!

👍H 👍E👍L👍L👍O👍 , The seated audience is applauding the stage, congratulations, greetings from Antalya/Turkey.
69/38, that's crazy! But consider how extraordinary your heart condition and respiration must be, a lifetime of cardio fitness. 💪❤
What a difference between Iraq and Kuwait, incredible!? Regarding your blood pressure, avoid that sugary junk and treat yourself to salty and fatty foods, and never say no to meat and beens. You need plenty of protein and minerals for proper muscle recovery! Kuwait is a modern country; I'm sure you can find sports stores where you can buy whey protein and electrolytes, which you can take any time if shit hits the fan! You really need them under those conditions! You're essentially riding through the desert and burning more calories in a day than an athlete does in a week! If you faint somewhere along the highway or in the desert, it could cause you a permanent damage or even death if no one finds you! I realize this is hindsight, but if you want to maintain this lifestyle and keep cycling, you have to take good care of your health, and that health always comes through your stomach! Also, every now and then, if you can find fermented foods (not sour/vinegary, but naturally fermented; the best naturally fermented foods for healthy gut flora are kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, and kimchi, as they're packed with live, active probiotics, beneficial bacteria, and enzymes that aid digestion. Fermented vegetables like sauerkraut and kimchi are often considered superior for their probiotics and prebiotics (fiber) and minerals; they're inexpensive and super, su-per healthy!), by all means, don't skip them! Fermented foods restore your gut flora, which is essential for good health! Cheers.
