愛車のホンダ モンキー125に乗って、滋賀県米原市の醒ヶ井宿まで、梅花藻を観にソロツーリングに行って来た時の動画になります。

モンキーを買って一番最初に出掛けた時の動画になりますので、時系列的には、以前アップした笠置キャンプ場からのツーリングより前になります。

初夏の滋賀県はとても暑いですが、醒ヶ井宿にある冷たい湧き水が流れる地蔵川周辺は、気温がひんやりしてとても気持ちよく過ごす事が出来ます。

地蔵川の名物である梅花藻を眺めながら、加茂神社にお参りしたり、梅花藻かき氷を食べたりしてのんびり過ごして来ました。

今は冬なので時期外れではありますが、ぜひ今年の初夏あたりのツーリングの目的地の候補に入れて頂ければと思います。

一点注意点として、醒ヶ井宿は現在も民家が立ち並ぶ静かな住宅地の中にあります。住民の方の生活スペースですし、観光客の方も少なからずいらっしゃいます。
そこにツーリングのバイクが集団で中に入って行き、住人の方達に迷惑を掛けてしまうというケースがあるようですので、必ず駅前に駐車してから徒歩で訪れて下さい。

I took my beloved Honda Monkey 125 on a solo touring ride to Samegai-juku in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, to see the beautiful Baikamo flowers.

This was the very first trip I took after buying the Monkey, so chronologically it takes place before the touring video I previously uploaded from Kasagi Campground.

Early summer in Shiga can be quite hot, but the area around Jizo River in Samegai-juku, where cold spring water flows, feels refreshingly cool and very pleasant.

While admiring the Baikamo flowers that Jizo River is famous for, I visited Kamo Shrine and enjoyed Baikamo shaved ice, spending a relaxing and unhurried time.

Although it is currently winter and out of season, I hope this video can serve as a reference and inspire you to consider this spot for an early summer touring destination this year.

One important note is that Samegai-juku is still a quiet residential area with many private homes. It is a living space for local residents, and there are also other visitors and tourists.

There have been cases where groups of touring motorcycles entered the area and caused inconvenience to residents, so please be sure to park near the station and visit on foot.
