Minami Aso Green Road and Mt Nakadake Crater
Part Two of Day 9 of a 19 day ride around Shikoku and Kyushu on 3 Honda Hunter Trails and 1 Super Cub.
We wanted to look at the crater of Mt Nakadake, a part of the Aso volcanic caldera – one of the largest calderas in the world at over 100 square kilometres.
Poisonous gas had twice prevented us from seeing the crater so we went for a ride along the Green Road while waiting for the gas to clear.
When at Mt Tawarayama View Park we found out the crater was open so hurried back to have a look.
