I finish my ride across South Africa, and I finally arrive in Lesotho. The border crossing is easy and welcoming, and as I ride for the first time in Lesotho, I see a huge difference with South Africa. Racial tensions are gone, and here, everyone is insanely friendly. After a few hundred meters, a man stops to give me a hug… Welcome to Lesotho, the kingdom in the sky, probably one of the greatest jewels in the world.

    Understand how the, trade tariffs work He charged him 50% because they charge him 100% so that's what it isit, he told him to bring down the terrorists and they didn't say this in South Africa.If they do 0 he would have go 0 All that he wants is free and fear trade.

    Lesotho is one of the most underrated countries. I've visited many times. Its a different planet, the people are generally very friendly and the scenery is incredibly beautiful.

    Regarding your comment on Trump and tariffs: the tariffs imposed on Lesotho (like those imposed on all other countries) are reciprocal. In other words, the US is simply applying the same tariffs to other countries that those countries have always applied to the US.

    Another word you could use is "fair".
    The tariffs are now fair — the US is asking exactly what Lesotho has been asking of them all along.

    Lesotho is not, and has never been, a threat to any country on earth. And no, the tariffs did not "destroy" Lesotho’s economy — it was already sh!t to begin with. If your entire economy depends on exporting jeans, then you’re f*cked regardless.

    Maybe stick to cycling, and leave political commentary to people who actually know what they’re talking about.
    I have enjoyed your channel right up to now.

    Regarding the 15% tarrifs of Trump. I don't believe that it destroyed the industry. In South Africa we pay 15 % Vat. There must be more to the story. 😅

    Trump imposed a 50% reciprocal tariff on Lesotho because Lesotho charges 99% tariffs on American goods, according to the U.S. administration.

    for anyone wondering:
    Lesotho exports to the US was valued at $237 million in 2024, while its imports from the US totalled around $2.8 million
    this huge disparity between exports and imports is the reason for the 50% tarriffs..
