【長野】ダム巡り~奈良井ダムと味噌川ダム~【400X】

Shall we get going? Looks like it’s great weather today, huh? Maybe so. Alright, day two—departure. Starting from Komagane. Nice and cool this early in the morning. So, day two—day one had lousy weather, but day two is looking pretty good, right? It’s already quite bright. First up, I’ll check out a dam, then head to a shrine. The route gradually heads north. I had a big breakfast, too. Seems there’s a dense fog advisory, so I’ll watch out for that. It’s pretty misty overall— when you look around at the mountains… the foothills to mid-slopes are totally fogged in, so that’s the main thing to watch. Even with a typhoon coming, the hotel was fully booked— maybe because it’s a Route Inn. Dinner last night was supermarket food. I grabbed some deli items and ate in. Not sure if it’s a Nagano specialty, but I had karaage from a place called Nishizawa. Is it famous? It was tasty. I crashed before 10 p.m. So healthy—very healthy. Touring makes you healthy. Miyada Village—elevation 643 meters. It’s warm in the sunshine, but the wind is chilly. Might be the best season for a bike trip. The air really is different—so fresh. I set out around 8:30, delayed a bit because the fog was heavy. Otherwise, since the first stop is a dam, I thought it might be tough. The blue sky’s opening up a lot. Awesome. Oh, there’s a Nishizawa here too. Nishizawa’s pretty big, huh. Is it a whole company called Nishizawa? The weather here is seriously perfect. Worth coming even just for this short time. I bet fuel economy will be good today. Feels great on this straight stretch. Just straight on and on. Whoa, it’s getting pretty foggy. It’s really rolling in. That’s full-on fog. Might be tough. We’ll see how it goes. Quite misty. Not sure I can make it—might be iffy. Dams are always up in the mountains. “Scenic route in 500 meters.” I’m sure it’s beautiful, but— we’re diving into the mist. Still, we might get some dreamy views. Great scenery, but— I can still see blue sky. So it should be fine. This road is really nice. Through all this greenery— the air tastes great. It’s 20°C now—just right. If it’s 20 in the morning, that’s perfect. Okay, coming out of the tunnel. Whoa—right ahead, mountains! So bright. This is fantastic. What’s the elevation here, I wonder? Temperature’s dropping—17°C here. We must’ve climbed a fair bit. I’ll be turning right soon. Is that it? This road looks great, doesn’t it? And the dam must be close now. First stop of the day. Let’s see how it is. The road’s a bit wet— in places. Nice curve. Whoa, I can see it—wow. That’s the dam, right? So we’re basically there? Oh wait—this isn’t the dam I’m aiming for. This is Narai Dam. Just a waypoint—my mistake. Since I’m here, I’ll stop by. Came all this way—let’s pop in and take a look. I wonder if I can pull in. Can I get a view? The outflow is really strong. The walking space is pretty small. Looks like I can get a dam card. Got the dam card! Alright, let’s move on. It got warm, so I took a layer off. How much farther to the target dam? About 9 kilometers. That was nice. And I scored the dam card, too. Some places hand them out even on weekends. Didn’t feel like a place you could really linger. So pretty. Elevation 970 meters—seriously? Turn right soon. Misogawa Dam—this way. Feels warm. Warm sun, cold wind. 500 meters ahead. Misogawa Dam. This way. Such a nice road. Whoa. It’s green, green, green—seriously. Makes you want to stop and stand around. Whoa. Amazing. Better watch for fallen leaves. Lots of leaves on the road. Take the curves carefully. Is this it? Here? Is this the right spot? “Fureai Hall”? Seems it isn’t open at this hour. It’s much more spacious than the last place. Alright, shall we cross? Looks like we can. Maybe cross and come back—seems like you could do a full loop. That could be fun. Large vehicles prohibited, it says. Man, it’s beautiful. This—this is it. Mmm. So nice. On this side too—there’s a lot going on. The dam management office is here. The shade is nice and cool. I don’t often see a dam with a “Fureai Hall” like that. Pretty rare, right? And it looks like they open from 10 even on weekends. The sign said from 10 o’clock. Seems fun, but the timing’s a bit off, so I can’t check it out. These farmlands are amazing. Thanks for watching!
