Discover Local Favourite Route from Ozu to Tobe via Shimonada

Correct. Is it [Music] [Music] [Music] Day six aime tour. Uh we start from Ozu City and now we’re going to do about 77k 1200 m. Uh first stop will be Shimonado stations and we’re heading towards Tobe and Matsyama. uh flatish coastal going up in the mountains and see how we go. Let’s go. Now we’re going from the city going outside the city to the coastal. It was a beautiful morning. Start a bit late cuz we uh we’ve done a bit of an experience city experience. The small amazing cities. This looks like a thing from the movie. Currently making our way outside the city. Going inside the bike way. Beautiful bikeway again. Surface of the road it just spectacular. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Now we’re riding on the side of the road. Looks like a bike way. Amazing surface, really wide and amazing views. Just couldn’t ask anything better than this. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] And now we’re now about 2 km from the sea and we’re riding right next to the river. Beautiful place. Nice again. Still 10:00 around 10ish, 11. Really people on the road. We have reached the coastal. Now we’re going to ride to Shimunada station. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, we finished the coast and we’re turning right. We’re going inland. Going to go up the mountain with the climb segment of 17.6 km. An average gradient of at 3.3. Total elevation is about 700 m. [Music] As we go in land, we already started the climb. So far, it’s been, as usual, a gentle climb. Three, five, six. Bit of an eight. Back again with a different scenery. Started from a residential up the mountains without you realizing it. You just came from the bay and go up to the mountain. The 17.9 km segment climb divided by two. And this is the mid bit. Bit of a descent. It’s a stop. [Music] We’re currently stopping mid climb to grab some lunch and it’s really interesting place cuz it’s like in the middle of nowhere in a village. Not in the middle of nowhere but a small village, someone’s house. And in here got nodoka. Woo. Hi. It’s this the place. Okay. Is it restaurant? Yeah. Wow. I think the setup is like someone’s house and they cook it for you, which is awesome. I don’t know if you have to book it or what, but there’s a time for lunch. You possibly can just come and have lunch here. We finished the lunch at that beautiful house in the middle of a village. Now we continue on the race of the right which means finishing up the remaining climb with Charlie. We’re a bit higher now and the views definitely changing. [Music] Back to the forest road again. [Music] It’s about 100 mters to the top of the climb and 17.9 700 m of elevation. It’s beautiful climb again as usual. We’re now descending. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Last hill is done. Now we’re going downhill to top. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] That was really fun to send. And now we’re approaching Too Town, not far. And we’re going to stop right there and finish the right is the right from where we going to finish a ride to the hotel. It’s just commuting. There’s going to be a lot of cars. So, almost finishing the right. Let’s see where we’re going to stop today. So, we finished right. This is the final point of the Aime tour riding day six. This is day seven. We won’t be any riding, just going to be exploring the city. So, the riding’s been absolutely amazing. The island itself in Japan has been absolutely amazing. It’s the road, the quality of the writing, the quality of the hospitality, the people. Uh it’s it’s a different island. And I’ve ridden in Kushi and now I’m riding in here. Japan’s always have a I don’t know out of words really cuz they it’s a different characters, but bows are really amazing. The great thing that I always like about this was how peaceful and how quiet most of the roads are. You if you go from the city just about 30 minutes away and it’s nothing, no car whatsoever and you go in land and there’s a lot of different way for you to go up to a mountain and potentially about four, five different ways. And then some some places are more challenging than the other. Some places are easier, but both like all the way to go up there are always amazing. So I really recommend it to go up here or go down here, go to Japan, explore air and just trust me. Do it. [Laughter] Thank you. Hey, [Laughter] I’ll get you next time. The silent attacker. Oh, thanks Sam. Thank you very much. It’s been really amazing. Yeah. Thanks, Miho. Thank you very much. I I’m going to name Oh, thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you very much. I’m going to name the I think the fourth day is Mihawk. That That was the best time. Thank you very much. [Music] Oh, beauty. Yeah. [Applause]

Last day of our Ehime FAM Tour!
Today’s route takes us from Ozu City to Tobe, passing through the famous Shimonada Station, one of Japan’s most scenic seaside spots.

We began the day exploring Ozu City, a charming town that feels like stepping back in time. With its traditional buildings, wooden houses and peaceful streets, it’s one of those places in Japan that still preserves its authentic atmosphere.

From there, we rode along a beautiful coastal road toward Shimonada, with ocean views on our left the whole way. After soaking in the scenery, we turned inland for a local climb that led us to Tobe, our final destination of the tour.

Even on the last day, the ride did not disappoint. We had an amazing time—sad that it’s over, but incredibly grateful for such an unforgettable experience.

If you’re planning to ride in Japan, Ehime is a must-visit cycling destination. Quiet roads, smooth tarmac, breathtaking landscapes, and the warmest local hospitality—this place truly has it all.

We’re currently working on an Ehime Cycling E-Book, packed with details about where to go, what to do, what to eat, and what to expect when cycling across the prefecture.
