Shimanami Kaido Pt2 – Japan Day 22

Shiman Nami Kaido part two. It’s 8 a.m. So the goal is to bike from Omishima to Onomi which is about 30 miles. It’s really cool cuz they have their own bike path for the bikers. So for each bridge you’ll like go up and usually it’s kind of like a circle all the way up and it’ll take you to the bridge. The first stop was on Ikuchi Island. Here I explored the Kusanji Temple. There was so much to see here. I would definitely recommend stopping. They have that cave that you can explore. And then there’s so many buildings. I could have spent like 3 hours here. And there was also the hill of hope. Like is this where the Greek gods would hang when they visited Japan? Okay guys, we came from here through here. And now we’re here. Got to go a little further up here. So I made it to Inoshima Island and next is Mukashima Island. I tried not to stop too often because I needed to make sure I was back before dark, but the views were so pretty. I’ve been biking since 8:00 a.m. It’s currently 1:00 p.m. I stopped for about an hour and a half. So, I’ve been biking for like 3 and 1 half hours and all I’ve had today was one tuna mayo on and a yogurt. I need food now. But I haven’t seen anywhere that looks good. So, we’re opting for a mango soda, which is really good. And look at the background. And then I finally made it to the port. I’m on a ferry and took a short ferry to get to Onomichi port. I finally got some food and yummy drinks. Guys, I’m so hungry. I got more food. I’ve never had the chocolate ones, so it’s good. Not as good as a banana. And then I hopped on the last ferry that took me to Inoshima Island. There was like an hour till sundown, so I was booking it. There are no street lights here, so it would have been so bad if I was riding in the dark. But after such a long day, I made it back and had some dinner before falling asleep.

Completed the Shimanami Kaido route today. It was so tiring, but definitely worth it!
