Charlotte Dite Charlie | avec Éloïse CHARRETIER & Amandine DEWASMES | Drame | BSF
It was disgusting! Yes, we would have thought so. But hey. Okay, let’s begin. Do you at least know your lines?
Yes. I learned it in math class. You’re in a hurry. I’m withdrawing because I don’t know you.
You don’t know me? Too bad. Let’s get to know each other, shall we?
I want it. How pretty you are. You are very kind. To the point, I’m telling you the truth. You too are
very pretty. So much the better. But you must not come. But you must not come,
because there is a shepherd who loves me. He would be jealous. He would follow me. Does this shepherd love you? Yes. Look at this impertinent fellow. I don’t want it. Do you like it?
I could never get over it. It’s well done. We must not love anyone but the two of us. See if you can. Besides, I don’t find anything so easy. Good? I never lie. I’ve always been unhappy. What’s the matter with you, my dear friend? It’s just that this fairy
is more beautiful than me. I’m afraid our friendship won’t last. I would rather die. So you will always love me. As long as I’m alive. You see, your father is here. We’ll say hello to him. Hi Dad. Hello my dear.
Hello Mr. Laporte. Hello Babou. Hey, it’s the form of both of you. It’s going very well. I fixed your radio. You were right, it was
the wire that was disconnected. Did you see? I put it in your room. THANKS. Okay, come on, let’s get to work. No, we’re going to eat. Because I’m hungry. Is she there, Mom?
She’s upstairs. Goodbye, Mr. Gagneu.
Goodbye, sir. Mom, your back. Your doctor has forbidden you. Where is it going? In your room, it’s for Niki. They called, they’re coming. They said Tuesday.
They did the journey in one go. It will have saved them a night in a hotel. And they stay long? At least two months,
until the baby is born. And again, if Arnaud
finds a position. Two months? Ca n’t you put me
in Bea’s room, kid? Bea, she has her baccalaureate. Yes, it always happens to me
, these things. We are here! Is anyone there? Okay, come on down, ca n’t you see we’ve arrived? Come on, hurry up. Is anyone there? What do your parents do? Maybe they didn’t hear? With the noise you
made, I’d be surprised. Hey, we didn’t expect you so soon.
Hi Adrien. Hello, how are you?
Hello, Louise. Hello, my dear. And you ?
How are you. Is the road not too tiring? No, that’s what’s tiring. We didn’t have a single truck on the road.
So, Bambi. Hi Charlie.
How are you ? Hello, you.
How are you ? Say.
You’ve gotten a bit more curvy over time, it seems. It’s growing, the boobs. Hi. The slipper that had been
bothered again by Arnaud. That’s your daughter. If she doesn’t have her house on her back,
it’s panic. How are you.
Here, go put this in the entrance. We’re putting that in, yes. Shouldn’t you smoke like that,
not at seven months? It’s dangerous for boys, Mom.
Not for girls. Where did you get that from? In a scientific journal,
it is proven. No, my darling. He’s all disgusting.
Shit. You shouldn’t have let him down. But you’re not going to throw
a fit, are you? Come on, come on.
You’re coming home. We’re fed up. No, leave it, it’s too heavy. It’s the bottles of chan- yeah, yeah, don’t break it,
that’s it, pass me the bike, here. Where is Bea? Bea, you know
she’s at the store. She’s never there when
help is needed. Be careful, it’s heavy.
No, no, I’ll take it. Can you take it?
Yeah, yeah. Your new hairstyle is really nice. It’s what ?
A perm? Yes, but very light. I’m tired of having stringy hair. Here, I’ll leave it to you. You don’t have to leave me. Do n’t worry, I’ll
clean your bear myself. Your father and I agree
to let you walk. No, but wait, you’re crazy, Mom, there
‘s no way they’re taking your room. We will be very comfortable in the living room. Anyway, we stay up
late because he will never want us. We’re used to it, you know. We didn’t have a room there either. It’s time you took care of yourself. I’m taking care of myself, my little mom. I take care of myself. By smoking a pack
of cigarettes a day. The relationship with Canapélie. I’d like a beer.
It’s good. So how did you do it?
How much did you pay? I bought a gypsy for 15,000 bucks. Well, you got a good deal. Yes, and then the colorist
was impeccable. Who is your thumb? It’s hot in your house.
Oh really, you think so? Yes. Note, there is the
boiler thermocell which is playing up. I’ve been waiting for the plumber for a month. Do you know anything
about this stuff? We’ll look at it later.
Yes, that would put me in order. Do you think it will be dry tonight? Yes, if you don’t wet the bed, yes. Don’t worry, it will be perfect. I don’t know how you
did it before the ultrasound. Take everything in white or blue. Blue is suitable for both
boys and girls. And yellow is nice too. Will you come with me to my class, Babou? I feel a little lazy. What are you taking classes in, Charlotte? Ladies, take
guitar lessons from a guy who’s a bit… I don’t know what you mean.
He is said to have avoided women. He’s a good teacher,
that’s all I ask of him. Don’t ask him anything else. I didn’t think he could. Are you sure you don’t
want to come, Babou? Next time. Stay with us, she
has to help us. Okay. The last one now. Yes. Dou, sharp, seventh.
GOOD. Come on, let’s start again. Firm your fingers,
but without putting too much stress on the strings. Do you remember?
Iron fist, under cycling glove. Let’s go there singing with me. GOOD.
You have a nice voice, tell me. Is it worth
taking singing lessons? If I could just
learn to play the guitar. So what? I’m already a jack-of-all-trades. Between theater,
drawing and painting. Exactly, it’s great. Why would you want to
limit yourself to just one thing? You still have ideas that they
put in your head at school. What do you do with a
Picasso or a Leonardo da Vinci? Just because he’s a jack of all trades doesn’t mean he’s
messed up, quite the opposite. Well, I’m going to have a coffee. Do
you want one? Or a fruit juice, if you prefer. Yes, an orange juice earlier.
Hold. THANKS. How long did you live in Paris? My time. I left here when I was 18. Why did you come back? Back to basics. I lost someone I
loved very much. We lived together for 15 years. Now I have the forest. Are we going back? Be careful next time,
this is the place for the book. What is this circus? Can’t you see? They make my nose. She’ll be happy with your mother, mind you. Well, I don’t give a damn. Stop moving around. Plus, it’s running down my back. What is this thing?
Shit. It’s drunk. It is to protect
the house against demons. There is one more idea. So, it’s blessed wine. And where will you be? There you go, Charmille. Well yes, you see, we’re going to escape. Here, take the big
turn of putting it on. Well, it seems like
the guitar is making you hungry. Look at this, look at this. That’s hair. What do I care, you take me by such a big one? But you’re waiting for me. You look like a fan with your nail polish.
What do you look like? You look like a girl. Then you stop crying for me. Stop, you hear?
Calm down, baby. It’s okay, calm down.
Do some stupid things, this world. If I give a normal every time,
it will be his fault. Don’t do that, we have the right to say that. We’re going to go get some food in town.
It will take your mind off things. It happened to me.
Yes I know. Look at this. You’re going to have to decide to be good,
my little man. Otherwise, Mom, she’ll crack. Come on. Do n’t worry, it’s not serious. We’re going to clean this up.
You want ? Otherwise, I wanted to ask you,
could you give me a hand with my French homework? Yes, if you want. But I warn you,
the prices have increased. Ah good ? It’s 100 bucks an hour now. Stop messing around. Okay, but tomorrow, because tonight
I don’t have time. Okay. Shall we kiss? If you want. See you tomorrow. See you
tomorrow. Charlie? Are you going to be a babboule? Yeah, why? Did you get bored of being a mailman? It’s for her. Do you give it to him? You’re in luck. I was giving
Mom a massage. You will be able to take over. I have the back of a centenarian,
my poor Charlotte. I thought you were sick. This time it wasn’t me,
it was Mom. Then I have my hands full. Just a little bit more. There, between the shoulder blades. Replace me Charlie, be nice. I’ll make you some toast
while you do. Did you massage yourself, Charlotte? I don’t know, I’ve never done it. This would be an opportunity to take. Come on. Come on. But don’t be afraid, go on. Look, it’s not complicated. You move your fingers up and
down, pressing along the spine, from bottom to top. Massages are always from the bottom
up. It’s not bad. In Asia, they never stop massaging each other. They massage each other. Back, neck, feet. The feet. There is nothing more delicious. Are you still top
of your class, Charlotte? It depends on the materials. I went back to studying.
Where didn’t you say? I am immersed in sophrology.
It’s exciting. Dry, but exciting. Sorry, there was no more bread. The biscuits will be fine. Either way, it’s
better for your figure. Charlie doesn’t care about the line.
She is quite right. At your age, I didn’t care. It’s after that, when the men
start circling around. Me, that nowadays,
this love story starts in kindergarten. But you do it very,
very well, Charlotte. From now on, I will call on you,
as I must be made miserable. Well, you found a
full-time job, old lady. No. What a gossip. Go get your girl taste,
you deserve it. Hold. THANKS. Oh, by the way. Pierrick gave this to me for you.
In my opinion ? When?
Later in class. Who are you, Pierrick?
He’s a high school friend. Isn’t that from around here, Pierrick?
This is the edge of the bridge. Well, surely not. There are some who are charming,
they are not all narrow-minded. Do they all write love letters,
too, boys? No. What are you going to imagine there? Immediately, panic. I just asked him
to copy a lesson for me. Yes, it has nothing to do with it, indeed.
Excuse me, darling. Come on, we’ll rehearse. Listen, he’s crazy about me, head over heels in love. Listen, I’ll read it to you. Babou. Hello, can you
leave us the mustaches in hand? Thérèse, a saleswoman in a department store, meets Carole, who is beautiful, fascinating and wealthy. She will discover with her what no
man has ever inspired in her: love. A passionate woman upset by
Carole’s husband, who doesn’t hesitate – Ladies, are
you looking for something specific? No, thank you.
I’m looking. There are more problems with boys. I don’t have I would like to
have a friend, as they say. A real friend?
A real friend, yes. And as soon as I start having a good
boyfriend, I feel that there is something wrong and every time, I… I have the impression, listening to you,
Michel, that there is something you reproach yourself for. Are you feeling a little better?
You have nothing to worry about. There is no message either.
What’s wrong? No.
No. Come on. Come on, sleep well. That is to say that in there, there
is a moment, we will seek the truth, we will seek the truth.
Come on, sleep well. We’re waiting to see someone
who is not only related to a father of gorgeous women,
but someone who matters in your wife’s life. Are you okay in there? Go ahead, leg.
Go ahead, leg. Eight.
Eight. He wants to take me to the cinema on Sunday. Then Eric?
Yes. Would you like to come with us? Otherwise, with my mother,
without making a fuss yet. You would come and get me with him,
we would tell him that there were several of us going there. Is he repeating it?
We can do it another day. What movie is this first? A brilliant horror movie, apparently. You speak. We would make Mom believe
that Pierry is acting in the play. That way, he would come to rehearsal
and he wouldn’t notice anything. Listen, no.
If that’s it, we might as well let it go. But you didn’t understand?
It wouldn’t be for real. So what?
What would we do? We’d work on the scenes while
he twiddled his thumbs? We would pretend. No, I don’t agree. For the lessons, I want it. It’s good,
but not for the play. We said we’d stick to it, that’s
not professional. If you back out at the slightest thing,
I won’t back out. Listen, doesn’t even death mean he has to
postpone the play? Yeah, when? When will you be more in love?
Maybe so, yes. And then shit, in the end. We are not bound by a contract. We said we would
n’t give up no matter what. We said, but there
was no one in our life. Now I’m in love, you understand? Pierrick, that came before everything,
even before the theater. But you have trouble understanding that. Because it’s never
happened to you to be in love. Besides, it seems like you don’t
want that to happen to you. Did your mother tell you that? Did n’t she tell you about my
Oedipus complex too? No, it’s not my mother, it’s me. You just have to see. What do you have to see? You can
feel it. Oh yeah?
As soon as a guy flirts with you, you challenge yourself. Useful.
But whatever. With Olivier, of course. Yes, Olivier, he doesn’t pay me,
I have the right, don’t I? I don’t know what you need. You’re really complicated. Olivier, he’s super cute. Yes, you, before, it was the same. Maybe yes. No. I wouldn’t know how to explain it to you. Forget it, it’s not a big deal. For other things,
you’re damn mature. Still happy. So, are you okay
with him coming to repeat me? Come on, say yes. You’re annoying. Is there anything more natural
than to love what is lovable? And watch out, she’s coming. SO ? Did you work well? Was this rehearsal good? I’ll give you money to get home because I’m not in a fit state right now. No way. No, it’s for Pierrette and you,
it’s for the taxi. Mom. Why can’t we have fun without wrecking ourselves? Eh ? But you know that. You’re going to tell me. Let go of me, Mom. But coward. I’m letting you go, my daughter. That’s all I know how to do, let go. I’m cold, bring me a blanket. Do you want me to go get one? No. Go away. I really prefer it. Come on, let’s go. I’m cold. Come on, over to you. Three, four. I can’t do it. But yes, come on,
it doesn’t matter, continue. No, it’s too difficult. And then, I’m useless. It happens to all students,
it’s not the end of the world. We all have the right to make mistakes, right?
Not me. What do you mean not you?
That’s the idiot. Are your friends good everywhere? No, but…
But what? But when you’re beautiful, you don’t
have to look good everywhere. Because you’re not beautiful, probably. Besides, I have a pig’s character. Ugly, bad temper. Are you sure you don’t have
anything else on your list? You haven’t forgotten anything? And then your smile. Have n’t you ever been told it’s
the most beautiful smile in the world? And then your eyes too.
Yes. Yes, your eyes,
I’ll tell you about them next time, provided you’ve worked on them. Don’t forget to tell your
father about the bouquet I asked for. It’s a promise. See you
soon. Goodbye, Charlotte.
Good day. I’m three days late. You didn’t do that? Yes. And you didn’t take any precautions? No. What are we going to do, Charlie? Wait, I’m going to go tell
Baby she’s replacing me. We’re going to the pharmacy to
buy a test. How much do you think it costs? I have what it takes. Come back. SO ? It’s good. You’re just late. Are you sure? Did
you look carefully? There was nothing.
I’m sure there was nothing at all. I know it’s stupid, but… I would have preferred something. You see, the test is positive. What would you have
done with a moment at 15? I know well. Hi. Hi. What is this ? I owe you a lot. I got 14 in French. My teacher was amazed. I won’t be able to do
without you now. What is it, Olivier? Am I disturbing you ? Yes, you are bothering me. Well, hello girls.
Hi. Tell me Babou, has Pierrick ever been with
another girl? Only once. But he wasn’t in love with her. It was just something
like that for the holidays. Besides, he doesn’t even see her anymore. Why are you asking me that? I don’t know, but… I think if I were you, I’d
ask him to use a condom. No. I can’t ask for it. No. No, it’s really embarrassing. I couldn’t. I’m not going to start
thinking about stuff like that. I’ll buy them for you, if you want.
What ? The condom. No, no, I don’t see myself
bringing him something like that. Listen, well, we’ll make a deal. I’ll buy them for you, you give them to him
and I’ll cover you for everything. And otherwise? Otherwise, I don’t walk. If you want, I’ll pass it on myself. It’s as you wish, Babou. I need to think. She’s a friend, she’s a
true friend, confidant? Yes, that’s a bit like it. But I feel like he… I don’t know, I feel like he
might like to go further. And I don’t really know if
I’m ready for that. Hello, good evening. Hello ? Good evening, I would like to speak to my cat.
Is anyone there? Who were you calling?
I couldn’t sleep. I’ll give you a box
of condoms, please. Do n’t you want us to set the table? Do n’t you want us to set the table? Here, take this, bitch. Arrasade with your hand on the collar.
Here we go. Yes, the ad is coming soon.
We’ll go in 5 minutes. You’re not going to go there like that. What ?
I’m not going to wear a tutu? Do n’t you want me to lend you a bodysuit
with a silk shirt, that would look very nice. Then it’s true that by dancing,
with a repul, you will be of age. But I don’t dance anyway.
And why don’t you dance? You’re going to let me go a little, yes. Sorry she was paying me. Life is hard for everyone. Isn’t she here, Babou? No, she’s not here yet. Here, take this. She agrees.
What is this ? You don’t remember me? Are you kidding me? Stupid eater, go. Hi. What are you doing here, all alone?
What’s wrong? Come on, let’s dance.
No. We’re going outside then. No, I don’t want to right now. Do you mind dropping me off at home, Arnaud? You’re not sleeping at our place? No. I prefer to go home. Okay. Bye, Anna.
THANKS. Hi. Do n’t you want a good drink?
No. Are you bickering? What are you doing here? I wet the bed. You won’t tell them. Promised. It’s because I
forgot to say my prayers. That’s why I wet the bed. Where did you get this bullshit from? It’s not bullshit, it’s true. Come on, get in my bed. I say my prayer first. Yes, go to bed. So 3.50, please.
THANKS. And 10, thank you.
THANKS. Hi. What did I do to you? Are you giving me the cold shoulder? What did I do to you?
What you did to me. You’ve only caused trouble
by always wanting to interfere in things that don’t concern you. Is this for the stuff I bought? But you told me…
I didn’t say anything. I said I would think about it. He took you for the last
joke, I can tell you. This is the last time I
confide anything in you. But
you don’t know anything about guys anyway. You don’t know anything about love. Do you know what he says, Pierrick? That you stick to my ass. I’m really tired
of hanging out with you. Always there, snooping around in my private life,
like some kind of evil maggot. Charlie?
Charlie. It’s getting better. What’s his phone number? I’m going to pick up her parents
who are coming to pick her up. No, it will be fine.
They’re not there all my life. No, better to leave her
with her friend now. Can you walk her home?
Yes. Well, goodbye, young lady. I’m a doctor, don’t worry,
she’s fired. I’ll make you a coffee. It’s closing. Would you like a coffee? Yes. You scared me a lot. You know,
I didn’t mean that earlier. Let go. Actually, Pierrick,
he thinks you’re super cute. But that’s because it made her angry. Do you want us to rehearse our scene? Are you mad at me? You won’t tell my parents
that I fainted. Okay, I promise. You’ll sell my birthday anyway. Did n’t we have class today?
It’s Thursday. Yes of course.
I was wrong, sorry. I would have taken you today,
but I have a student. No, but too bad, it’s my fault.
It doesn’t matter. We’ll see you on Thursday. How are you, Charlotte? Are you in trouble? No, no.
I just got the wrong day. See you Thursday. Now that that’s over,
let’s put some light on it. It’s beautiful ! You see? And there, we do like in the theater. We light up a castle, then there
it is night in the forest. Is she your best friend, Babou? Yes. You’re in a hurry. I am withdrawing, because I do not know you. You don’t know me? Let’s get to know each other. I’d like to. How pretty you are. You are very kind. I’m telling the truth. You’re very pretty too. I knew it. We’re going to write a paper. I’m a little dark about this paper. Which one do we take? Charlotte, are you listening to me? Which one do you prefer? I don’t know about that one. Listen, Corina. That’s the first jump
I danced with your mother. Yes, can’t you imagine your old
father dancing the jump? Yet you would have seen us. With my life, we had one of those looks. Are you dancing, miss? Corinne.
Corinne. Closed on you. And despite the weather, all along… Yes, those were the good times. Stop acting like an old man. What role do you want me to play? You know, after fifty,
there aren’t many jobs left. You stop, yes. You see, you too
want me to play dead. Yes, that’s it. She’ll be happy, Babou. First, we don’t say one. How do you say it then? You can ask your mom about that. Charlie.
What’s going on? Wait, I’ll explain. I couldn’t reach you. It was always busy at your place. We’re going to the restaurant. We decided this at the last minute. I told Mom you were coming with us. Oh la la There was too much that I had,
that you arrived late. Your mother doesn’t mind that you
went to school to celebrate your birthday. She bought the cake and all that. We’ll eat it tomorrow. But couldn’t we
take your mother with us? No, but you didn’t understand there. It’s just Pierrick and me, in love. The restaurant is his gift. She doesn’t mess up, especially. I told Mom that we were
going together. Luckily, her
Jules showed up again. So, her mind is elsewhere.
That’s good. Yes, that’s good. Charlie, you don’t blame me. But this is the first time a
guy has invited me to a restaurant, so… What’s your gift? No, it’ll get in your way. I’ll give you another time. Yeah, that’s it.
Tomorrow, at snack time. We’ll both celebrate it.
We’re leaving 100. Do you want to? Shit, I’m going to miss my bus. Listen, see you tomorrow. I adore you. And how will you get back? Do n’t worry. You didn’t give him his present? No, I got the wrong day. I’ll put it away.
I’m going to bed. The way she is,
she won’t even bother. She’s not going to bed
with nothing in her stomach. Do n’t worry, when she gets over it,
she’ll always go behind the fridge. I know her, she didn’t
know her hunger pangs. Have you finished washing?
No. Oh, the chili! Oh, sister. There’s at least one thing to crack. Oh, and then I’m fed up, I’m fed up. Pierrick dumped me. Plus, I was terrible with you. Yes, forget it. These guys are stupid. I knew he would let me down. I was sure of it, I felt it. Love stories are always shit
. So it’s the ventriloquist,
he gets angry too, he says: But come on, sir, it’s humor, it’s
for fun, you shouldn’t take it the wrong way. I say: But it is not to you that I am speaking, it is to the little one. I never stop. I see you two don’t seem bored
. It’s Charlotte who tells me
funny stories to help me get over my heartache. Why do you have
heartaches, my little babou. Pierrick left me. That’s not true, what an idiot.
Why is that? Did he tell you?
Because he doesn’t love me anymore, that’s all. He didn’t give me an explanation. Don’t worry, my little deer. With your doubt, you won’t have
trouble finding another one. They’ll all crawl at your feet,
I tell you. With that, sleeping at home will
take his mind off things. There’s more room,
you know, in my room. She can just sleep in mine. Do n’t you want to sleep with me?
No not at all. There, everything is fine.
See you later. How did she know you were
with Pierrick? I told him. We don’t play with knives. Are n’t they playing, Baby and Arnaud? They went to Laurence’s house. They were giving him
a 30th birthday party. Did you put my bottom in place? Hold my food. Stop it, Niki, you’re annoying me.
Sit down at the table. Whoa, watch out, it’s hot up ahead. Say the end. I love it. Don’t lift your plate. What can I get you?
A thigh? Can I put my branches, please. With sauce?
THANKS. There are perhaps four
signs of a babou. Me ?
Sagittarius. Besides, in my family,
we are all Sagittarians. No, not potato. Not three potatoes,
they’ll make you fat. She doesn’t like it. That’s it, Dad. Give me your plate. The second case, he does
n’t want to get into his head. Me, full, grandpa. Yes, but you wait your turn. Put your towel on while you wait. No, give me your plate,
man, he’s hungry, that kid. It’s I know it’s a very
beautiful Sagittarius sign. They are very
loyal and enterprising people. Their only flaw is their throat, so
you’d better be careful. And Libras, it’s chives
that are their weak point. Mi.
Absolutely not, miss. It is the most
feminine and balanced sign. Your scales? Do n’t you see how feminine she is? Do you believe me in this stuff? This is all a load of rubbish. Eat, my duck. You ask for some, then
you leave half on your plate. And me, what is my sign? You’re Stinking Martin. What are you telling him now? What is Martin Puant? Eat instead of asking questions. The Stinking Martin is a
curly animal that climbs the curtain and never washes. I climb the curtain? I’ll cut your meat,
otherwise it will be midnight, you will still be in front of your plate. I climb the curtain? You don’t wash either.
Why do I wash? Have you seen the scenes you make with your
mother when she wants to wash you? Leave him alone at this point, it’s fine.
That’s how it goes, right? But we’re laughing. But she’s sick, that one. He needs to be sent to a shrink. Well, come on, enjoy your meal. Come on, let’s go to the room.
No, it’s fine. You’re not going with her? No.
I’m sick. I’m sick. Come on, I’m going to bed too. This movie is so sad. Come on, me, the one who
said there’s juice. Don’t stay up too late, my daughter. No, don’t worry,
you’ll leave the light on for the Arnauds. I will not forget it. Good evening, sweetie.
Good evening my. Here is the letter I received about
ten days ago. And here is the other one I received this morning. Emilie actually didn’t go
to school all last week. I thought I’d warn you
before going to the Did I tell you not to turn off the light?
It’s not me. It must be good. You’re going to bed too. You won’t wake up tomorrow morning. I’m waiting for the end of the movie. Wait, I’ll say more.
Jean-Louis, can we sleep together again? No, I was going. Was that Niki, the apple
of bullshit? No, he was lovely. Did you see that?
What a waste of chicks together. And what does the guy do
during this time? You are disgusting. Am I the disgusting one?
This is the height of irony. Do you know what
your little sister is looking at? It’s true. With a little sex
with boudoun. You are disgusting. This is not a funny thing, defend me. You’re just a big, disgusting pig. She complains about you, you love that, don’t you?
No. Good evening. Stop. Stop, is that all you think about
in the end or what? It’s been two months since we
last did It’s Good. Do you believe that? This is where I read you. Nothing.
It’s not bad. Be careful with quotes though. It’s good to place a few,
but you shouldn’t overload them either. Overall, it’s
still better, right? No, really, it’s
much better articulated. Then the introduction is good. I invite you to the cinema. Okay. How old are you? 19.
19? And you ?
I’m almost 18. You know, the taxi driver,
he might be right. Reason ? It’s going to be nice
to kiss you on the eyes. I don’t think so. Can I try?
No. No ?
No. That’s funny. You ask me. I don’t want to be used to
boys asking me if I’m okay or not. I’m like, What does he want for…
You know? It’s romantic. You know I learned about coffee
at the end, just now? I was thinking of you.
Oh yes ? When I opened it,
you were so beautiful that… What’s wrong? No, it’s not okay. I don’t give a damn, it’s so beautiful.
It’s really very pretty. Do you want to see something overdone? And I took it from that.
Yes, it’s not true? Yes, that’s true. Hold. Let yourself go, Charlotte. This has to come out. It will pass. Listen, Charlotte, when you’re in pain,
you have to cry, but not like that. Completely. We must open. We must release
the valves, we must empty ourselves. Do n’t hold anything back,
Charlotte, especially don’t hold anything back. You can cry in front of me,
we are all little children. Even at my age, even at 80. We’re all big bobos. Nasty things that eat away at you. And then, if we don’t let her out,
I turn into poison. Do you understand? They came to put the body on me. And then we get sick, Charlotte. We get very sick. You need to talk to me. You have to tell me what’s wrong? I can’t do it. Charlotte, Charlotte. Did you see how he’s getting agitated? Charlie, where have you been? I was at Babou’s. Hey, that’s not going to be
a cane for a little girl. We had rehearsed, normally. I’ll explain to you. Come on, Aunt Charlotte,
it’s now or never. You’ll see, it’s huge. No, here. Where is this brown? Can you imagine when that will happen to us? Mind you, I can see you
very well with kids. Here, here, here, touch it. I’ll have a glass of water. What’s wrong with her now? For some time now, she has been too… Where is she, how she moves, the baby. I saw it, yes. The baby might be premature. We’ll put it in a box. He won’t be able to sleep with his
mom at the hospital. I’ll see what we do. You don’t know what? Bea had me audition
in front of a wonderful woman. And she agrees to take me. She only accepts 10 students
per year in her course. Can you imagine?
What are you talking about? Classes in what?
But of theater. Plus, she knows
lots of people in Paris. How does she know her, Bea? By Ludo. Did you see? I made 100 points.
Ludo? Can’t you see? He’s a big guy. He DJs at the loco. You know, he often hangs out in blue bars. No, I don’t see. I don’t care either way. No, the other way around. Yes, that’s it, like that. We’ll show it to Dad
when we’re done. Yes, and to your mom too. No, girls, you’re
not interested in airplanes. Yes, I like it. Yes, but for you, it’s not the same. Why is that? You’re a girl,
but you’re not like a real girl. Yes, she’s like me, a real girl. I don’t know, but in any case,
it’s not like you. Do you think I look like a boy?
No. Boys don’t have babies,
they have kisses. That’s it, stop it, Niki. Are you coming to the cafe? No, I walked Niki
to take her on a ride. Will you go after? No, but after that it would be too late. It’s better. See you
tomorrow, babou. What would you have blades? What?
Razor blades. Yes. Alright. Until she’s here,
I won’t sleep. Yes. SO ? They left at the end of class. Charlotte told her she was going
home and taking Niki to the riding school. Did she tell you she was taking
you to the carousel? No. And at his guitar teacher’s? Not this time, come on. We always call him, you never know. But she would have warned. She always warns Charlotte. What is fear like? I’ll never let my kids go out on bikes. Or in the countryside,
but in the city it’s too dangerous. In the countryside, it’s also dangerous. What the hell are you doing,
not calling us parents? Look, if they’re with
her, they’re not going. But we don’t know anything. Your daughter had an accident,
that could mean anything. Listen, go to bed,
Baby, you can’t take it anymore. That was it. I’m going to bed while my
little sister It wasn’t that bad. Listen, nighttime is always bad. You look so good. We never had
any problems with Charlotte. We only hear good things about him,
his teachers, his friends, everything. He didn’t even want me to
spend the night with her. Don’t tell me. Don’t tell me. But she didn’t tell you anything? When she wasn’t sleeping,
she turned her head against the wall. He wouldn’t even look at us. You’ll have to kiss me at the store tomorrow. Of course, Mom. Yann. The doctor, he… He said like 6:04 would come
see her tomorrow morning. 6:04. They have it. They found it in the forest,
the wrist. It was someone walking their dog. He would have passed by a quarter of an hour later. There’s no point in
telling people about it, especially. Even at one point,
what will we tell them? They could have thought of such a thing. Did you sleep well, my little girl? Yes. Did you eat something? We brought you breakfast. Your sisters are looking after the shop,
they kiss you. I brought you your things. I brought you your things. Dad wanted to bring you a cake,
but I was waiting to see if you could eat normally. My granddaughter. Why did you do that, my granddaughter? You must have let her rest now? We just arrived. These are the doctor’s instructions. We could come this afternoon. I put your
toiletries on the table. Come on, let’s go see my belote. It’s not me. It’s not always like that. If he hadn’t saved her,
I would have shot myself in the head. It’s dangerous, a worse etoquite. If we go to the hospital, it’s dangerous.
No, I tell you. Come on, move out of the way, Niki. Why can’t I sleep with her anymore?
Because. For what ?
Leave us alone, will you? She is tired. So for now, you sleep with us. That’s how it is. Excuse me, come on, my little asshole. Go
ahead, Grandma. Put on your jacket, darling.
It’s cold outside. Leave it, it will tire you out.
I am very tired. Aunt Z and Uncle Pierre arrived
last night for Evelyne’s engagement party. The first of their granddaughters
to get married is no small feat. It took them 10 hours
to drive here. Do you realize?
Ten o’clock? They really live
too far from family. When they were younger,
I don’t say, but now, it’s already never been
very strong in my stroller. How long has it been since they’ve been
back? Five years?
Yes, it’s been five years. You hadn’t even moved on to sixth grade yet. Even who brought you a doll. Yes, it must be even more than that. Or maybe they thought
you were smaller. My sister, she never
knew the age of my children. Who put it on? We put it in the living room with the Arnauds. All right. It’s okay, Mom, it’s okay. I’ll let you settle in. Thank you for the roses. Brother Montanet, he lets
that bastard go free. They can hit me. They are mean. No, no, no, no, no,
why didn’t you go to dinner at Aunt André’s? I’m not family. I’m part of the spare part. Did Mom tell you to stay? I thought there would be
someone to look after Niki. Because I couldn’t keep it.
Yes, yes, yes, of course. But anyway… You know Charlie,
the hardest thing for your parents is not knowing what happened. I would tell them, it would be
easier for them. I imagine if one day Niki did that and
I didn’t know why, I think I would go crazy. When you have kids, do
you already feel responsible for everything that happens to them? He was a kid who was high,
you tell yourself it’s your fault. Your kid is unhappy, too. It’s nobody’s fault. And you can’t tell me? Huh, what was that? Heartache? I don’t think it would be easier
for you too if you said why? I couldn’t. It’s too complicated. It’s too confusing in my head. I won’t be able to explain it to you.
It’s fog. Already, it frees you from
yourself, you don’t think that you could one day become,
one day be attracted to a man. Does that surprise you and are you
especially afraid of shocking people? Babou called you. I told her she could
come see you this afternoon. Would you wear a sweater? With my pajamas, you can’t see anything. A sweater hides better. You’ll be happy to see your babou again. Don’t worry, I won’t tell him anything.
Babou? Hello Mr. Laporte. Good morning. I brought him a surprise,
a play. I hope he likes it. Yes, that’s nice. My godfather gave it to me
, but I’m giving it to him. My godfather,
I never see him anyway. I am alone. Once every 100 years,
my lips part to speak, but my voice echoes sadly
into the void and no one hears me. You, pale light,
you do not hear me either. At daybreak,
the stagnant marshes give you life and you will go until dawn. But without thought,
without will, without breath of life. Like a prisoner thrown into a
deep well, I don’t know where I am or what awaits me. What do you think? That’s not bad, is it? I think I have the tone. Oh my, can you imagine if I got caught? I like this hunt already? How many of us do you think will be at the audition? Mind you, if I become a
famous actress, it will be much easier for you to put on a play. Babou Douzet,
directed by Charlie Laporte. No. I need to calm down. Are you getting drunk? I feel like I’m boring you now. Do you like it? You speak. Apparently this is
a very rare old edition. If it works, maybe we’ll move
back to Paris. This would be the opportunity. Mom, she’s not getting used to it here. It’s too rigged for her. What will people say about it, all that. When would you leave? Not until next year. Then it also depends on whether she finds
a job and whether she passes her soffro exams.
We’ll see. The idea would be for her to form
an association in a medical practice. Would you come and spend
weekends with us? That would be great, wouldn’t it? Yes. You know, it’s not certain that we’re leaving. It’s not safe at all. And even if that happened, we would
always be friends, you and I, blood sisters. To life, to death. You didn’t even tell me how
your operation went. Olivier was very worried. Every time he
asks me for news. I would have liked to come see you at the hospital,
but it was your parents who didn’t want me to. You know, peritonitis isn’t a
big deal. Anyway. We get over it quickly. Babou. SO ? How did you find it? Pretty good. A little tired, but not bad. Still a little pale.
Yes, but that’s normal, right? But not so long ago that she came out. Yes, that’s true. And she didn’t tell you anything in particular? No. For what ? There is something Is that what she was
supposed to tell me? No, I was just saying that, you know. I don’t know, I haven’t been seeing her
like I usually do lately. Does n’t she have a little
love story? A love story?
Charlie. Surely not. It would be rather the opposite. She doesn’t have a boyfriend, are you sure? She doesn’t want it, especially. On that side,
you can sleep soundly. She has plenty of time, that’s true. Yeah. She’s right not to rush,
I’m telling you. Come on, I’ll come back tomorrow.
Goodbye, Mr. Rabbit. Well, goodbye, Babou. I will help you.
Leave it, it’s fine. Where do you put this book? Look, I know what I have to do. Don’t you want me to help you? Stop. Not the opposite, nothing more, my blood. Should I sleep here again? I may not always be a good
mother, but I know how to see where he feels best, Niki. It’s next to you.
So, shall I sleep here again? Are you sick anymore? Dad, dad! Mom told me I wanted to
sleep with Charlie again. Are you having contractions? It’s nervous. That’s it. Come on. And you see that little bit there? I decided we’d call it after you. Charlotte. I would like her to look like you. There’s no bell here? Do n’t you want me to open the curtains for you
for once when the weather is nice? Yes. You are beautiful, Baby. I prefer to be nice. I am when I’m not angry. I even know how to be gentle sometimes. Come on, get up, Charlotte. It gives you the blues to stay in bed. You said it’s good for carpets. I’ll give Mickey his drink. THANKS. What ? For Charlotte. Are you going out? Yes, I have my guitar lesson. If you want, I can accompany you. Don’t worry, Dad,
I won’t do it again. Promise? My little darling. You have my word. I waited for you last Thursday. I was in the hospital with peritonitis. Peritonitis? Tell me, didn’t you suffer too much? No, it was fine, it wasn’t very serious. When it’s caught on time, it’s fine. If you had been out at sea in the
sticks, you would have understood. I have a friend, he wanted to
sail around the world. He insisted on having the
operation before leaving. It’s true that it’s
a useless banana, but… I’m going to play some surprises on you. Have you gone back to school since then? No not yet. Tell me, were you thirsty? Was your friend you lived with
in Paris a guy? Yes. For what ? Like that. Have you ever dated a woman?
It happened, yes. But it was never very conclusive. Do you want another drink? No thanks. Is Thesis in love with you? It happened, yes. They say that girls
who fall in love with… Gay guys, yes. They say that it is she herself,
she is. Not systematically. But it happens. How old were you when you found out? About your age, 15, 16. I am from a cinema,
a film with Débora Keir and Cary Grant. I don’t remember the title anymore. They made a wonderful couple. It was me, I realized
that in the love scenes, it was not him that I identified with, but her. How did it feel? Leaving the cinema,
I went into a cafe, locked myself in the toilets
and cried like a child. At first, it makes you want to kill
yourself. And after? Afterwards, I got used to it. I’ve had adventures. I fell in love. Like everyone else. I became an average little Frenchman. I get that too
when I watch a movie. Those players in the hospital,
it wasn’t peritonitis, was it? No. It’s when we dare to say it, is that it? Yes, that’s it. In fact, we’ve known this forever. I think so. What are you afraid of, Charlotte? You are confused by girls
and not by boys. You know, if I had screwed up by
going to the movies, I would have missed 15 years of happiness with my friend. That’s huge, 15 years. Give or take a year and that’s your whole life. And your parents? The only thing we owe our parents
is to try to be happy. And in my opinion, you have everything you
need for that. Start I see you
scared me with your eyes. We stopped smiling
last time, remember? If someone had eyes
and a smile like yours, I would want to make a friend of them. Do you want us to become friends? Because deep down, you and I
have a lot in common. Start with the guitar. Start with the guitar. It doesn’t warn me, it happens. It comes from far away. It was going from bank to bank, with a sly
face. And then, one morning when you wake up,
it’s almost nothing. But it’s there, it’s sleeping
in the hollow of your back. The pain of living, the pain of living, that we must live well, whatever the cost. They want to understand us,
which comes to us with bare hands. We can’t hear them. We can’t, we can’t take it anymore. So, alone in the silence of a night
that never ends, suddenly we think of
those who never came back. The pain of living, the pain of living, which we should live, is better than living. Without warning, it comes from far away. It dragged itself from bank to bank,
from bank to corner. And then one morning when I woke up,
it was almost nothing. But it’s there, it amazes you,
in the hollow of your back. The joy of living The joy of living. Come back, come back and live it. Your joy of life. Sometimes there are some,
they put anything. They kill it, there are some,
they put anything. There are some, they put anything. There
are some, they put anything. There are some, they put anything.
You made me drop my piece. No, that’s strong, old lady. My old friend, you’re nice. I’m going to gain another good kilo. Listen to her, do
you know what she’s doing? She loves herself at night,
she takes chocolate. I could never resist sweet things. Do you know what? He goes back there for a while
so that Martin can dance a sharing. You don’t stop.
