Alright, let’s move on to the next one This is where we say goodbye to Tomi city. There aren’t many around here There’s a pom-pom nearby, but it’s not evenly distributed That’s a bit wasteful I should have made it with a little more distance If only it were in Karuizawa or somewhere like that I could have stopped by today That’s all there is to it, lol It’s just a matter of stopping by, lol The next stop is the roadside station in Ueda There are also two more in the northern direction, including the Aoki roadside station I think the next roadside station is about 19 km from here It’s a bit far away Since there is Umino-juku in the meantime, I think I’ll take a look The Northern Country Road used to pass through here, right? It’s such a lovely place where the old atmosphere still remains It’s fine to just pass through there I’ll just pass through and head to the next roadside station It’s been a while since I last came here Huh? Is the cherry blossom season already over? Huh? Isn’t this place actually amazing? Well, that makes sense! It’s already Ueda, after all The cherry blossom season is amazing! It’s quite long, you know Wow, today you can see the mountains in the distance, and it’s really beautiful Shall we get off for a bit since we’re here? Pass through once This place is amazing, isn’t it? They also provide a free parking lot, which is great It’s incredibly beautiful, so I recommend it Let’s go check it out~♪ Alright, let’s head to the roadside station in Ueda 11 km to go Roadside Station Ueda, Road and River Station Otogi no Sato A place with Baka Burger By around June, you can eat tempura made from bent bamboo and miso soup too That’s nice, isn’t it? It’s delicious too! Ah! This is Ohya Station Incredibly delicious Italian food This place is highly recommended (TAVERNA Bacca), but you really have to pass by to notice it This place is incredibly delicious, isn’t it? Is it TAVERNA Bacca? Didn’t you move here from somewhere, maybe making a U-turn or something? Or was that wrong? Anyway, it’s delicious The lunch is incredibly delicious, right? The dinner is probably really delicious too, but I was already very satisfied with lunch It’s popular, isn’t it? I think you need to make a reservation When it comes to the area around Ueda, the tourist spots change again, don’t they? I’m leaving Higashiomi here now with this In Togakushi City, if you go up towards Yuno Maru and that area, there’s a place at an elevation of about 2000 meters Above, there are places like the pond’s flat marsh where you can walk in incredibly pleasant wetlands That place is quite a hidden gem, isn’t it? The 2000m on the Yatsugatake side is well-known, but the Ueda side is a bit lesser-known and less crowded, giving it a hidden gem feel If you go towards Ueda, you’ll find quite a few hot spring towns, like Bessho Onsen Reisenji Onsen Then it will be Chikuma City a little further up There is Togura Kamiyamada Onsen, and then there’s Shika Onsen, you know There are plenty of hot springs in the hot spring town that you can enjoy The quality of the spring is really great If there’s sulfur and a bit of iron, that’s the best If you stretch your legs a bit from Ueda, you can also go to Sugadaira That area is also for skiing or summer retreats There are quite a few hot springs in the Eastern Shinshu area where you can use the Monmiyu product vouchers Around Saku Minami-Aiki Onsen Takimi no Yu After that, the scenic Kitahachiyake Matsubara Lake Onsen, Happo no Yu This is Koumi, isn’t it? The view here is great, and the restaurant is delicious too It’s been renewed, right? It’s really beautiful, just a little while ago I haven’t been here before, though Is it the Saku Ichimanri Onsen Hotel? It seems like you can also use the hotel’s hot spring I haven’t been here before When I go to Tachikawa, I’m gradually going up from the south When you go a little higher, you reach the Takashina Onsen Gongen no Yu The view from the outdoor bath here is also amazing Tomi City, Mizuhokonsen Yurakuri-kan This restaurant is delicious again I haven’t introduced it in the video, though It seems that soba noodles and other dishes are extremely popular It sells out quickly That’s the kind of hot spring Then, just before reaching Ueda’s Sugadaira, Sanada Onsen Health Land Fureai Sanada-kan This restaurant is cheap and delicious too The fried chicken set meal is the best The most popular bath in the Higashi-Shin area where you can use the Monmi-yu San Tegata is probably Jizo Onsen, Jippuku no Yu This place is pretty amazing, isn’t it? I’ve made videos about it multiple times I go there often, though First of all, the restaurant is amazing, right? They have soba, pizza, and even a pizza oven! The menu is also extensive, offering everything from gelato to coffee The outdoor hot spring bath is incredibly spacious, I guess it can easily accommodate 100 people A hot spring that’s quite large It’s nice to be able to enjoy it even in the snow during winter It’s a really great place Is this a hot spring that can be used with the Monmiyu product voucher? Around here If you purchase a promissory note for 1980 yen, you can enter at 12 locations among them It will be such a promissory note This is a promissory note that can be used in Nagano Prefecture It will become such a promissory note I was just looking at the homepage and the hot springs where you can use the Nagano Prefecture’s Monomi-yu gift certificates There are several places, but let’s say I visited 12 of those hot springs If you enter from the highest point in order, you can save up to 7,920 yen, they say That’s amazing, isn’t it? I bought it for 1980 yen, but it costs 7980 yen It actually costs around 10,000 yen, but you can get it for 1980 yen at 12 locations That’s amazing! But this is a bit of a strange way to start, right? We’re just going to go to high places? lol Well, it’s really a great deal, isn’t it? It doesn’t cost even 200 yen for one time It’s appreciated, isn’t it? This roadside station in Ueda is not located within Ueda city It’s not in the middle of Ueda city, you know It’s a bit off the mark It’s more on the west side of Ueda It’s near the road that leads to Matsumoto and beyond But it’s a bit sparse around here, so having a roadside station here would be quite helpful, don’t you think? There really isn’t much to the north from here, right? There’s no Chikuma or Nagano City, right? It’s not up that high, you know There is Nagano City, but Like Nagano near the white horse I’ve arrived So, what should we eat? It’s fine to be a fool if I can eat a stupid burger How’s your stomach? If you want to eat, you can, right? I can eat just fine I can still eat, haha, but I haven’t eaten much I can easily still eat a set meal, haha I’m getting that hungry now This is a souvenir at Ueda Road and River Station’s product center You can buy various things, and the restroom is in the back, right? Mulberry jam and other delicious things, right? I can’t help but eat it all up! When you come here, it feels a bit more like Sanada This kind of sake too You can eat it down to the bone It’s a carp Wow, this is soba honey Soba flowers The colors are quite different With others There are apples, and I often see acacia, but chestnut Little Fool Burger, Fool Burger, Big Fool Burger Wow, a fried chicken set meal sounds great! What do you think? A mulberry smoothie sounds good! Then shall we go with the Big Fool Burger? It seems like they’re having rice with raw egg for breakfast Up to 3 That’s amazing! 500 yen!! Sounds good~ from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM I’ve arrived~~ This is the big idiot burger for 1000 yen This mulberry smoothie is 600 yen Wow! That’s a huge amount The paste is large It’s 150g Wow, that looks delicious! Usually it’s 80g, so it’s almost double that It only differs by 200 yen Isn’t it good? I’ll have the mulberry smoothie here Ah~ it’s delicious The milk is strong, but The upper part has quite a few mulberries It’s delicious Delicious!! It has quite a refreshing feel to it It’s difficult to eat Let’s eat! Since you say ‘fool’, it must be a horse and a deer, right? Maybe it’s a deer? Ah, delicious! Super delicious It’s quite mild, you know It’s delicious The meat is quite tender It’s delicious, isn’t it? It was delicious, wasn’t it? It was delicious I got pretty full That was big, wasn’t it? Alright, let’s move on to the next one Next is the roadside station Aoki Kana This is a bit of a lesser-known place Because it’s Aoki Village This isn’t really a path that people use much either From Ueda, take this road through Aoki I guess it’s National Route 143 passing through Aoki Village So you can get through to Azumino, but If you’re going that way, it’s easier to take Route 254, although it’s quite a difficult place to pass through This roadside station in Aoki Village and the surrounding area are definitely in autumn now Autumn matsutake mushrooms, huh? It seems that the roadside station is already lined up from the morning I wonder if it’s quite luxurious I hope it’s good – especially the matsutake mushrooms There are plenty of matsutake mushroom mountains, you know Around Ueda, this area is… This is a particularly recommended place in autumn About 8 km in 13 minutes from here Let’s give it a try And there is the Tazawa Onsen a little further from this roadside station in Aoki Village Tazawako Onsen Uchi-yu is an amazing hot spring with excellent water quality It’s a sulfur spring that smells a bit like sulfur, but it’s also a carbonated spring It’s a hot spring where a lot of bubbles stick to your body, and it feels really nice That place is nice, it’s a bit cozy The quality of the hot spring water feels really good The atmosphere is nice too Favorite hot spring I have entered Aoki Village There might be many people who don’t know about Aoki Village It’s not really a place you just pass through We’ve arrived It’s big! A magnificent roadside station It’s Aoki-chan too Tazawa Onsen After all, the hot springs are famous A town like this What? There’s another one! It’s Kutsukake Onsen I’ve never been there I want to go There’s a public bath that looks like this Wow! It’s spacious! There are lots of wild vegetables Tara buds, wild garlic, bracken It’s already mostly sold out because it’s late after all Watercress, rapeseed flowers Nice, it’s spacious This is the kind of feeling Folk crafts and such Because the mountains are close by Are there many deer? It’s miso from the salt fields It adds depth of flavor Aged for 2 years It’s like miso Amazing! Hot pot seasoning Wood ear mushrooms are famous, you know It seems like shiitake mushrooms are quite famous There are a lot It’s already sold out Mushroom rice mix sounds good Looks delicious!! Well, let’s eat something here What is this? Aokiko-chan’s grilled dish is great! There’s something called Konpara It’s the fruit of the summer hazel It seems like it’s not available now That’s too bad Aoki Mushroom-chan grilled (170 yen) is amazing It might be prettier than bear roasting It says Aoki Noko-chan Let’s eat! It’s probably hot, freshly made Delicious!! It’s quite hot because it’s freshly baked The inside is delicious and chewy The outside is crispy and tasty Crispy and fluffy The red bean paste inside is really delicious! 170 yen This is delicious This is super delicious Moreover, they make it after you ask for it It’s not pre-made, so it’s really warm Crispy and I don’t know during the day It was already getting late Alright, let’s move on to the next one I want to go back there again to the direction of Mt. Bikazura There are three more over that way Roadside Station Marumero no Eki Nagato Then there’s the Wada-juku Station roadside station And the Utsukushigahara Kogen Marmelo roadside station is quite large, isn’t it? There are restaurants, a bakery, and even hot springs It seems that I can’t go to the Utsukushigahara Plateau after all, based on what I found out today I guess we have to go again after all It’s about 20 km to the roadside station Marumero no Eki Nagato Bessho Onsen~~ To the right are Reizenji Onsen and Kakeyu Onsen This is Route 254, right? This is the easiest way to get to Matsumoto, isn’t it? 31 km to Utsukushigahara if you go left It’s 3.5 km more That’s Mount Tateshina ahead Yes, we’ve arrived~~ This place has a lot of good things too, doesn’t it? I can eat soft serve ice cream from Nagato Farm, that sounds nice Filming is not allowed here I came to take a look There are a lot of vegetables and such, right? They sell quite a few regular supermarket items here Like meat and milk So it feels like the locals can also shop here Maybe there aren’t many There might be a supermarket nearby if you go a little ways What should we eat? There are plenty of hearty options, but… It’s not open Today, the half-fried dish is completely sold out There was a foot bath over there, right? What the heck is this place? A koi fish kamaboko shop? Even Iroha-do This is also a stupid burger There’s also a bakery over there Irohadō’s oyaki are plentiful Is it frozen? It seems like you can heat it up in the microwave and eat it And this is it! Carp kamaboko It looks like a carp It looks just like a real koi I bought it Shinshu specialty confectionery Marumero There’s something called quince, huh? I wonder if it’s different from a medlar This is 220 yen And some oyaki Yam udo flavor 160 yen How does it feel? I think I’ll eat it Let’s eat Incredibly delicious Can I have a little? This mountain burdock is so good I guess it’s a bit sweet in flavor It’s delicious, isn’t it? It’s a bit similar to candied burdock, isn’t it? There’s a bit of bitterness to it, isn’t there? Maybe it has a slight chalkiness to it? It’s delicious The dough is nice too Dough that looks like a meat bun There are various things It varies greatly depending on the store This is how it feels here It’s kind of like Hagi no Tsuki Let’s eat! Ah! This is delicious! Incredibly refreshing It’s not citrus, though Refreshing feeling It’s light The texture when eating, like the dough and so on Delicious! Only two left Today was a bit strange in terms of the route Go from Yachiho Go up to Ueda and then head south again I’m trying to go towards the area of Mt. Bikazara over here I wonder what would be good on a regular day It’s also possible to go to Bikazura first and end in Ueda from here It’s about how to turn If you’re coming from Tokyo or somewhere like that, You could come from Karuizawa via the Joshinetsu Expressway, then go around to Ueda, head to Mikabura, drop down to Suwa, and return via the Chuo Expressway I think it might be okay the other way around too It’s about 140km from Yachiho today, I think So if I go to Bikazura from here, it will be around 170-180km That’s how it feels I started at Yachiho Highland at 10 AM, and now it’s 5 PM It seems that the roadside station Wada-juku Station I’m heading to is already closed I couldn’t make it in time If we add Mt. Bikazura to this, it feels like we won’t make it in time at all Should we stay overnight on the way? Should we start a little earlier from Yachiho Highlands? I haven’t been taking too many detours today either Well, we were each eating our meals, I guess We also went to Umino-juku a bit If you’re just going to stop at the roadside stations quickly, then sure, you can do that, but it would be pretty boring I think it would take about 2 to 3 hours to get to Mt Bikazura, so I would definitely want to walk I feel like a 1-night, 2-day trip would be best after all There are plenty of hot springs too Good hot springs I can’t go to Mt. Bikazura today, so I think I’ll try again when the road to Mt. Bikazura opens up again Around here, cherry blossoms and flowering peaches are blooming at the same time again There are quite a few flowers and peaches here, aren’t there? It’s going to get a bit bigger from now on, right? Peach blossoms seem like they’re going to be trendy from now on, don’t you think? The color is beautiful, isn’t it? Moreover, it blooms quite a bit later, and since it’s still cold during the plum blossom season, you know It’s a bit cold for plum viewing, isn’t it? But after the cherry blossoms, it’s the flowering peach It’s warm enough to spend time in short sleeves now It’s nice weather to be walking outside, isn’t it? Moreover, it’s around the time when the pollen is almost gone When it gets to around May If that happens, won’t it become popular? After cherry blossoms, they say it’s time to see flowering peaches I wonder if everyone will plant a lot, haha It’s beautiful, but the colors are quite vivid If it gets as crowded as the Hirugami area over there… That’s quite impressive, isn’t it? I’m almost there About 1 km to go It’s left after that traffic light, right? If you go right, you’ll reach Mt. Bikazura, right? I wonder if they haven’t done it? There is also a direct sales store for agricultural products I have to come see it again I will come to see Mt. Mikura and Wada-juku Station on a different day Since we ended with quince last time, here’s the continuation Wada-juku Station and Bihōgahara Station These two places are still remaining I think I’ll try to go to those two places today It’s been about two weeks since I took that photo The greenery has suddenly increased The fresh greenery is But if it has turned this green, I think it’s safe to say that Mt Bikazura has opened up as well I think I can go It’s crowded, isn’t it? As expected during Golden Week, it’s really crowded right now in the middle of the holiday It’s nice when the weather is good Oh, what is this! I can go up! I heard there’s a cafeteria too Something like this There is the Nakasendo Road Obsidian Tool Museum and such There is Wada-juku There’s a bridge, huh? It’s kind of retro, isn’t it? This area back here is pretty nice, right? This interaction hot spring I think it had a hidden gem feel and wasn’t the outdoor bath with cherry blossoms? I can see something really beautiful In the men’s bath, it’s right in front of me It’s not visible from a woman’s perspective It’s visible from the waiting area But I think it was right in front of the men’s bath It’s a hidden gem We were able to eat rice, right? You can get to Wada-juku in 700 meters Was that the hot spring? Was it really that high up? It was probably that kind of building It was such a high place It’s the hometown of obsidian The presence of obsidian means it’s either Jomon or something like that, right? Isn’t this also a Jomon person? Isn’t there Jomon pottery? This is a bit… lol Come on, Japan Heritage, do your best lol They’re selling a lot of wild vegetables, including rhubarb Is this rhubarb too? Splendid fuki They’re selling asparagus 250 yen Selling a lot of obsidian They sell big ones too! It costs 60,000 yen Wada Pass’s strong person is great, isn’t it? This miso dorayaki is amazing! The bean cake is super big! Incredibly big Nagowa Town Recommended Products Miso Dorayaki The power rice cakes are still warm here From Nihonbashi to Sanjo in Kyoto Wow, that looks delicious! That looks delicious! 430 yen Let’s eat Delicious Is it zunda? Yeah, probably I wish there were a mix of three colors There was only one of each, huh? Ah, the mochi was delicious Alright, let’s finally go to the opened Utsukushigahara I will climb up 16 km from here It’s that close? I will climb relentlessly If you go via the Venus Line, it feels far away because you keep going from places like Kirigamine, It’s around here Wada-juku Honjin and so on There’s a place that has the atmosphere of Wada-juku, right? This building here, you know It’s 700m from the roadside station, so we can take a walk too I think the elevation here is about 800m From here, we will ascend about 1200 meters to an altitude of 2000 meters all at once Let’s take it slow It’s 17 degrees now, so it might be around 12-13 degrees above The roadside station we’re going to from here is the highest point, right? At the roadside station It says that the roadside station at Utsukushigahara is at an elevation of 2000m It’s probably not 2000m It’s a little lower, isn’t it? But it says 2000m on the sign I wonder what it is There’s definitely no way, right? I think it’s around 1950m It’s almost 2000m, but that’s quite an exaggeration, isn’t it? Every roadside station is doing it properly in 1-meter increments, but This one is probably telling a little lie, or rather, it’s more like a fib The roadside station at Utsukushigahara is located at an altitude of 2000m, which means that somewhere in that vast Utsukushigahara area is at 2000m Is that what it means? I’m not really sure If you look it up properly, it comes up I heard that the roadside station at Utsukushigahara is at an elevation of 1934m Still, it’s overwhelmingly in first place When it comes to second place, it suddenly drops below 1500m It seems that there is a roadside station called Gomasan Sky Tower in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture The third place is Kusatsu Kusatsu at an elevation of 1233m Roadside Station Gomasan Sky Tower, it’s in Tanabe City, so it’s Wakayama, right? Is it at the Dragon God Skyline? I’ve never been here before 4th place is the roadside station Venus Line Tateshina Lake, elevation 1221m Mito-mi Road Station, Elevation 1096m In that case, there is almost none Anything over 1000m, especially 1900m, is exceptional Mount Bikazawa is That’s why it’s popular It’s amazing, isn’t it? It’s cold even in summer Wow, that’s amazing! It must be over 15% You’re quite thin, aren’t you? It’s a single lane, after all Aren’t we going to hit a big road with this? Joining the Venus Line Amazing climb It’s 1700m I climbed about 1000 meters But it’s kind of amazing that this road lets you go through even in winter, isn’t it? Honestly, it’s not really necessary, is it? I think it’s also because there’s snow removal here and there are places like Yamamoto Lodge that are open Is this area where the snow has been cleared and there’s little snow on the road? But it’s amazing, as a road It’s a really slippery ice road, so considering that, the roadside station isn’t open in winter, but at the end, there’s a fork in the road, and if you go right, the roadside station is about 100 meters away If you go about 100 meters, you’ll reach a roadside station, and if you go straight, it will lead to the Yamamoto Lodge or the walking path of the Utsukushigahara Plateau That side is open in winter, you know So I can’t go to the roadside station in winter It’s quite long, isn’t it? From around November to around April I wonder if it will be open until around late November 1800 meters above sea level, 10 degrees Oh, it’s dropped from 10 degrees to 7 degrees Now at 1900m, it’s 9 degrees If you turn right at this intersection Yamamoto’s hut is straight ahead It’s fine for those walking to Mt. Ogatou to go straight as well We walked from the roadside station before, right? Walk on this There are few parking spaces at Yamamoto Lodge There are few options at Yamamoto Lodge During this busy season, there are often signs saying that day-trippers shouldn’t stop here It might be possible that the parking lot belongs to Yamamoto Lodge So I think it would be good to walk from here You can get there by walking too It should take about 20 minutes This hill on the right feels nice too You won’t be going through the highest point The elevation is 1959m, it doesn’t exceed 2000m Isn’t this the highest point? Climbing a hill of about 50m to reach an elevation of 2000m is quite something It’s not a hill, right? When it comes to 50m, you often say ‘w’, but you struggle with just a little incline I wonder if I’ve climbed about 20m up there But since it’s down here, it’s either break even or you’re here again today I wonder what that hidden spot over there is I don’t know if it’s a parking lot or what, but I’m going to a higher place I think that place is probably a breathtaking view I’ve never been there It seems like there are azaleas It’s still too early, right? It’s already June in normal places, you know Has it been since July? If you go down this road to the right, you can head towards Ueda It’s straight ahead, and Ueda is amazing today It’s 40km to Ueda It’s the Northern Alps, right? There is still snow left It’s crowded, isn’t it? They’re lined up By the way, today is May 4th, during Golden Week It will probably be really crowded, though I think it would probably be like this even during the summer peak, but normally it doesn’t get this crowded There are a lot of bikes Let’s give it a try 9 degrees, huh? It’s cold Breathtaking view, breathtaking view That’s amazing, shall we go check it out? There’s quite a bit of snow left It’s a breathtaking view Wow, that’s amazing! As expected of the highest roadside station in Japan It’s very popular among riders too What a stunning view! Is it a bit too early? Well, this green is nice, But the snow-covered mountains are amazing, I have to come back in the summer But by the time this place turns green, the snow-capped mountains will be gone, right? I’ll go check out the store There’s quite a bit of snow, isn’t there? This used to be an escalator here It’s gone This is where the Matsumoto Art Museum is located I wonder if Fuji was doing that~ or maybe not It’s 1000 yen There’s also a food court like this here That’s amazing! It looks like a service area, doesn’t it? The Showa retro vibe is amazing Surprisingly cheap! Like coffee for 400 yen Soba for 880 yen or so You can enjoy a stunning view from inside as well It might be nice on cold days or when the weather is bad Local specialties from various regions of Shinshu Is this area Ueda? Takeda’s miso The Raicho (Thunderbird) village is in Omachi I thought it was in Kiso You’re selling it, right? Ueda’s Takeda Miso You can buy anything from Nagano Prefecture because it’s a popular tourist destination There are also things from Ueda and Obuse You can buy various local specialties from Nagano Prefecture Popular Home Run Shop It’s packed, lol I wonder if this one has poor sealing Not a single one has inflated, lol So it might be designed for high-altitude conditions This is the first time I’ve seen this Shine Muscat Potato Chips The salt is served separately You can eat soft serve ice cream from Nagato Farm Altitude 2000m~… Hmm, haha (persistent uncle) This is the soft serve ice cream from Nagato Ranch at Utsukushigahara Moreover, you can enjoy it with this stunning view for just 450 yen It’s no different from below Even though it’s called below, that place was selling like hotcakes We were lined up, weren’t we? It’s cold outside, but I was making soft serve even though there were no orders, lol Let’s eat! It would be quite annoying to order coffee there, wouldn’t it? Delicious It’s Nagato Farm’s, after all The milk is rich You come here, eat this, and then go home It might be really luxurious Especially in summer It’s cool, and Even now, it’s 9 degrees outside, but the sunlight is still strong It feels like the sunlight in the mountains He was an amazing person, wasn’t he? It’s crowded, isn’t it? It’s because it’s Golden Week With this, the entire Higashi-Shin area is complete It feels good to wrap it up here after all The view is amazing; it’s the best highlight
