Surprising My Parents In Koh Samui, Thailand 😮

but I’ve ordered the young coconut cake cuz I had it before and it’s really 
good. And it’s fresh whipping cream. So, it not like hot weather. You have to put in the 
fridge right now. Okay. We bring it home first. See you. See you. Yay. A little surprise. Yeah. For your mom. My 
parents are visiting us. Um, and we actually are celebrating my mom’s birthday today. So, we 
decided to get her a cake, but we’re going to have it later on today. We’re first going to go 
home, bring them for breakfast. Mhm. We sneaked out this morning to get this so that they won’t 
know. We’ll have breakfast and then massage. And then come back home, have cake, and then a special 
dinner at a special place. A very beautiful place. Probably one of the most beautiful views 
of the island at this restaurant. So, if you’re in Samui and you’re looking for a birthday 
cake, this place is a good place for you. Yeah, you can pre-order the cakes. I think maybe 
give them about at least 2 days in advance or they have many individual slices so you 
can easily choose like eight flavors put it together. They can stick a happy birthday on it. 
I think this cake for me is 800 Baht so including the happy birthday and the candles which is 
not bad. It’s like really good quality cake. So today for breakfast we have a special request 
from my dad because he loves waffles. We decided to take him to our favorite waffle place 
in Samui. It’s called About Cafe and it’s this tiny cafe in Maenam. It’s in kind of a local 
area. I guess we’re actually in Chinatown. Yeah, this is Chinatown. This is the old Chinatown in 
Samui. There’s nothing Chinese about it other than the Chinese temple. Yeah, there’s 
a Chinese entrance and the lanterns, but there’s like a walking street I think at 
night or used to but it’s not active anymore. Not anymore. Yeah, we haven’t been here in 
a while. But the waffle is good. So that’s why we are here at About Cafe to try it. What 
did you order? Latte. Iced latte. Let me try. Good. Very good. Not too 
sweet. Not as sweet as my wife. Look at that waffle. Mini breakfast. Fully loaded 
with fresh fruit. And mom got American breakfast. And yours is… I got a mini breakfast. It 
looks the same. Well, I only have one egg and I have no American flag. Oh, that’s why this 
is American breakfast and one egg. Oh my god. You basically ordered the same thing as my 
dad, but just pancake and waffle difference. There’s no way I can finish this. They even 
put two little flour jellies on top. Wow. Honest opinion, your pancake is better than 
the waffle today. Mhm. But it was better last time we came. But not as crispy today.

to the video. Let’s go see this new lighthouse. Before it was just a clear view to the ocean, 
but now they built this lighthouse and it’s actually quite cute. It’s cute, but it’s now a 
safety hazard. They blocked it off. They blocked it off because it’s collapsing already. 
Oh. Oh, no. That’s too bad. Cannot go up. We don’t come to this beach often enough you 
know. It’s still one of the nicest beaches on the island. Look at how quiet it is. Mhm. 
It’s one of the more quieter beaches for sure, but I think it depends on the season. Like now it 
looks a bit rough. Little bit of garbage around here. It’s not garbage. These are sandbags that’s 
supporting the shore and this lighthouse. Oh, because remember there was one year where it 
was raining so hard it flooded the street. Like the water comes all the way up. It 
washed off all the sand into the ocean. Oh, right. Time for a massage. Okay. 
They are not looking at the moment. She’s just around the corner. She can’t 
see me, but she can probably hear me. She absolutely has no idea. We need that. Oh, for the candles. So pretty. 
She definitely knows what’s going on here. No, she’s busy talking. She said our cat is 
looking at her. Ella is a distraction. So, how many candles do we need? How old is 
she? How old is your mom turning? She’s turning 66. Are you sure? Yeah. Mom, how 
old are you turning? 66. She has no idea. This is a very strong torch. Wow, look 
at that. Wow, it’s so pretty. Okay, let me take it. I’ll go turn

from the island. Smells very coconuty. Yeah. I want this. You want this one here? Yeah. 
Just Yeah. Is it good? A good coconut cake. Good. Yeah. You can taste the coconut meat. 
Yeah. It’s fresh coconut from Samui. And this morning when we went outside, I climbed the 
tree to get the coconut to make it for you. So, we dropped the coconut off at the bakery 
at about 6:00 a.m. So, they started making the cake. You’re not making it up. No, no, for 
real. Yeah. No, no, no. Flora cracked open the coconut. I climb up to get it. Yeah. I did it last 
night. Yeah. And do this way, right? Yeah. Yeah, like the Thai style shaving the coconut meat this 
morning. We’ll see if Ella likes the coconut cake. No way. No way. Is it Ella approved? 
Yeah. This is your first cake. Ella, thanks for coming to my party. Oh 
my gosh, she loves coconut. Look at that. But that’s all you can have. Yeah. Or

mom’s birthday dinner. So, this place is called Maithy Pool and Lounge. Up in the hills. Up in 
the hills. Pretty steep hill. And our friends took us here a couple weeks ago and it was 
really nice. So, we thought we would take my parents here to enjoy it as well. It’s quite 
steep. So, if you come here, be very careful. I wonder if they have a pickup arrangement, too. 
Doesn’t look like it. We came up by motorbike last time. Even that was scary. Yeah. Yeah. This 
one here. Maithy Pool, lounge, and restaurant We’re here to eat. That’s what I said. Actually, 
right here it does say there’s a WhatsApp phone number and a pickup point. Oh, okay. That’s 
why. So, maybe that’s why. Yeah. Here we go. Probably can’t tell with the 
camera, but it’s quite steep. Wow. Go ahead. Oh, yeah. He’s telling you to That’s pretty scary. Okay.

And for those of you who watch our channel regularly will know that this is not our usual 
car. Our usual car is a 1993 Suzuki Caribbean, which would not make it up this hill. So, 
thank you to our neighbor for lending us her car. Best neighbor ever. For 
the week that my parents are here. Happy birthday. Happy birthday, Mom. How’s your mocktail? Good. It’s called The Wave. The Wave. She said it tastes like Samui. Oh, yeah. The taste 
of Samui tastes like the ocean. Well, they use ocean water. Yeah. 
Yeah. It’s a little bit salty. It’s actually like a mojito but with ginger 
ale. It’s actually quite nice. Another plane is coming. Every 15 minutes is a plane from 
Bangkok. Oh, every 15 minutes. Yeah. See, you can see one coming there. This is one 
of the best spots on the island to watch the plane. And usually during sunset, it’s also 
very beautiful. Yeah. But it’s a very cloudy day, so it’s all hidden behind here. And 
usually you can also see the big Buddha down here. Look at that. Welcome 
to Samui. Welcome, babe. Welcome, babe. I mean welcome everyone. The best island on 
earth. We’re a little biased cuz this is our home. Wow, it gets so low. Very nice. So, tonight for dinner, we decided to go for a 
very iconic Koh Samui experience. We’re going to Coco Tam’s. And I think anyone who looks up Koh 
Samui probably have Coco Tam’s on their list, like their list of things to do. And we honestly only 
come here when we have friends and family that visit us. So, it’s been a year or so. Even more. 
Yeah. And it’s always like a nice vibe, good food. Um, today, unfortunately, looks like we won’t see 
much of a nice sunset, but it’ll still be a good experience for my parents. Your dad has never seen 
fire show before, right? I don’t think so. My mom didn’t too. We didn’t bring her to the fire show. We go this 
way. Oh, I think they want to see the hotel. Oh, okay. Yeah, they want to see the Holiday Inn. Uh 
they just opened for maybe the last few years they just opened and it’s one of the nicest hotels 
here on the island because of location. Yeah, perfect location. If you stay here, you don’t need 
to rent a car, you don’t need to rent a bike, you can walk everywhere, all the restaurants along the 
street. It’s a very kid-friendly hotel. Actually, we were planning to, if my dad was to stay here, 
we would probably put them up in here, but I somehow convinced them that it’s too expensive. 
Come stay with us. So, that’s why it’s still 5,000 Baht something for a normal room, isn’t 
it? It’s like 5,000 Baht minimum per room. So, I thought if they stay with us, we get to spend 
more time together and we can save that money and go eat at nicer places. Uh, I think it’s good. 
I like waking up and having them there. And it took us like 4 hours to get out the door cuz we 
were just chitchatting today. But it’s nice. Now, this hotel is also a good option. Hansar 
Samui. I actually find if you don’t have kids, I think Hansar is the better option for 
just adults cuz it’s much more quiet here and it’s nice and the price is about the same as 
Holiday Inn. I think Holiday Inn is like music, pool, kids. Yeah. A lot going on. And look 
at the view of this. Mhm. Just beautiful. All these shops are new. I guess we 
haven’t been here for too long. This used to be a skate park. Remember here? 
Yeah. You used to go skating in there. And we used to come to this cafe a lot. 
It’s still nice. I still like that place. And here is Coco Tam’s. Let’s hope 
we get a table. For four people? Okay. Twice a day. Every night. And then you have to be like 
this. You do one hand on your ear. I think this one is better. Just look at how beautiful this place is. You 
can choose to sit on the bean bags. They also have outdoor tables here, but it looks like 
it’s going to rain. That’s why we sit inside and all the way on this side. Later on the fire 
show going to be along this beach here. Now the reason we don’t come here that often because 
it’s quite pricey. Yeah. It’s like 500 Baht a dish 1,000 Baht. But the food here is 
actually very good. It’s actually really good. Especially their pizzas. Yeah. And 
it’s beachfront. So I guess it’s worth it. Welcome to Samui. Thank you so much. Thank you. I think your dad really likes the fire show. I was thinking, is he ever going to watch this 
footage again? He filmed almost the whole show, but they don’t know what’s coming. They think 
this is cool. The end is even more amazing. That was actually a lot of fun and I think my 
parents enjoyed it a lot as well. Your dad even went down and give them a tip. Yeah, he said 
it was really good. The fire show. And how much how much was the bill? It’s surprisingly not bad. 
It was 2,800 Baht. So around $85 US for the four of us. We had drinks. We had five dishes. Five 
dishes. We just didn’t order alcohol, but it was still a lot of food. Yeah. So, did you enjoy that? 
Oh, yeah. They’re very good. Very, very good. The food and the show. The show is good. The food is 
good. The company is good. They have good pizza. Very good pizza. Pizza is good. Pasta. Yeah. 
Seafood spaghetti was also really really good. so today we are at the fisherman’s 
village basically but it’s not the market days so it’s quiet but actually I 
find the non-market days are much nicer than the market days. It’s more pleasant. 
Yeah. You can actually walk cuz when it’s really busy it’s shoulders to shoulders 
and quite hot. But today very pleasant. I also find there’s a lot more new restaurants 
that we haven’t seen before. So, I think we can come down here and try it another 
time with lots of shops. Quite lively. Seafood rainbow lobster. Yeah, very 
nice. Yeah, I show for you. No problem. From where though? Hello, my friend. 
How are you? From Samui? Where are they from? From Phuket. From Phuket. Oh, 
so mom and dad, do you like Samui? Oh, so much. Yes. I want to spend my rest of 
my life living here. With us? Yes. Maybe when we build our house. When we build
