Since I quit my job, I’ve been going out less and have had fewer opportunities to experience the changing seasons, so I completely forgot about the red spider lily season. It seems that the best time to see the flowers at famous red spider lilies in various places has already passed, but I still can’t give up… I don’t care if the best time has passed, but I still have a glimmer of hope that I can see them for a little while, so I drove around after about three hours. There were no signs, but I was in the right place, so it should be fine, I was feeling a bit uneasy because it was my first time there and there was no one there. This is a municipal parking lot in Yoshimi Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, and it is open to the public for free during the cherry blossom and red spider lily season. Yes, it’s peaceful with rice fields stretching out before you. A two-minute walk from the parking lot brings Sakura Tsutsumi Park into view. I read in reviews from about five days ago that the park is still in bloom. There is a 1.8km walking and cycling course here, and in spring the cherry blossoms and rape blossoms bloom so much that they cover the entire area. Just walking around makes you feel healthy and comfortable, but the essential red spider lilies had withered after all (´;ω;｀) It’s so sad I should have noticed a little earlier. Or maybe I wouldn’t have been so sad if I hadn’t noticed… We have two hearts , but it’s precisely because life is so fleeting that the moment they bloom remains so vivid in our memories. I’ll definitely go see them next year! So, although I didn’t get to see the red spider lilies, there’s still plenty to look forward to. This time, I’m going to spend the night in my car at “Ichigo no Sato Yoshimi Roadside Station,” which I found while looking for a place to rest near the park . Today’s roadside station is past its opening hours, but I’m going to sleep in my car before I leave so I can have a lot of fun tomorrow, so I want to relax in my car and recover from the fatigue of long drives and walks. The parking lot is very spacious, with spaces for about 397 regular cars in total, and the nearby restrooms have lights on 24 hours a day, so I’ll use them before going to sleep and when I wake up. After I’ve taken a break, I’ll want to prepare the car. I brought a sleeping bag with me today, so I’ll lay it out and make it fluffy first. My secret base is complete. I’ve also brought a portable power source today, so I’ve lightened my luggage. How do you open this, ahhh, with all my strength! I was surprised it broke surprisingly easily lol It looks like a matryoshka doll ! So tiny! It’s “that girl”! The world of Chiikawa is really coming out, and I’m happy to see new Palicoes. I also tried some chocolate. The white one was white chocolate and the brown one was dark chocolate with a strong cocoa flavor. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten this much chocolate, so it’s so sweet I think I might get a nosebleed lol. It was delicious . A direct sales store selling vegetables, fruits, rice, etc. Right next to the parking lot where I parked was a rest area with Kitaoka Home Bakery. A soft serve ice cream and drink shop near the main roadside station building. On the street called Waratengai, there was the delicious taiyaki shop Taimaru, as well as Ramen Senmon Nagashima and a flower shop called Bizarre Farm. There were so many things to see that I didn’t know where to start, but as a ramen lover, this is a place I can’t miss ! I thought I had decided on today’s lunch, but to my surprise, they’re closed because they’re filming Omouma!? What! Amazing! What miraculous timing! Lol But more than anything, if it’s a restaurant so wonderful that it’s featured on TV, I wanted to eat there all the more! As I was looking at the menu with such sadness, the owner unexpectedly called out to me! I felt bad about taking photos while they were busy with filming, but since it was a rare opportunity, I decided to take some photos! Inside the restaurant, there are messages from customers who have eaten the ramen, and it’s clear that it’s a restaurant that is loved by everyone. Apparently, Jigoku Ramen is their signature dish, but they also have a wide variety of other dishes, such as the most popular “Back Fat Ramen” and “Chinese Soba.” The director’s business card is also on the wall. They said “red bean paste” and “ham and cheese,” so I ordered the “ham and cheese,” which I thought was unusual. While I was waiting, I also got to talk to the staff at Taimaru. Inside the main building, there is a shop selling sweets and desserts, as well as a restaurant called Rakurakuan. Apparently, the signature menu here is udon noodles made with 100% Saitama wheat and their specially made broth. The menu seems to change with the seasons, so it’s fun every time you come. I wonder what kind of taste this is, a menu unique to Strawberry Village ? The shop is lined with “strawberry” sweets, named after the roadside station, and it seems that the roadside station staff put their heart into it so that people can enjoy strawberries regardless of the season. I’m here at a time when it’s not the season at all, but there are so many strawberry-related products and it’s so fun to look at them. Strawberry tea? They also had homemade strawberry jam, which I was curious about. It would be great on toast. They also had a lot of other original goods for sale at the roadside station. They had stuffed toys of Yoshimi Town’s mascot, “Yoshimin,” cutely designed notebooks, bandanas, tote bags , Yoshimin caps , Yoshimin polo shirts, and more. It really showed the love for the local area, which was great! Among them, the “Strawberry Dorayaki” caught my eye. It has the roadside station’s mark branded on it, which is stylish and looks delicious. To pair with the dorayaki, I wonder if “Strawberry Drop Cider” would be good? Since I had a rice-based meal earlier, I wanted something sweet, so I bought the “Strawberry Dorayaki” and “Strawberry Drop Cider.” I can’t wait to try them! It really feels like I’m in Yoshimi, the Strawberry Village! Let’s eat! It’s delicious! It’s filled with plenty of strawberry jam and fresh cream! It actually has red bean paste in it, too! 楽しみです。 English : I thought that with so much sweet food I ‘d feel bloated, but the strawberry jam was not too sweet and the flavor of the ingredients came through, and the fresh cream was light and refreshing, so it went really well with the jam.
