8 BEST Places To Visit Around MOUNT FUJI, Japan!
Hello friends, welcome back to Greta’s Travels
and welcome to Mount Fuji! Mount Fuji is the most iconic in Japan, and this video is all about the
best things to do around Mount Fuji, so let’s go! So we are Chureito Pagoda today, which is like
the most famous landmark, the most famous photo spot in Mount Fuji, and it shows. Especially
today, is the first time you can actually see Mount Fuji in a few weeks apparently, the fall
colours are at their peak, and it’s a Sunday, so it kinda feels like all of Tokyo is here
today, but we’re walking up to the pagoda now, and we’ll see what the situation is
like up there, let’s go check it out. Also, if you visit Mount Fuji in
November, it was freezing this morning, I covered up I have way too many layers on,
and now it’s actually really sunny and warm. So we have come to Shiraito Falls, and
I’m not sure why, but I thought it was some kind of hidden gem, I guess I hadn’t
seen as many people share about it online, but we got here and it’s really not.
There’s like three parking lots, and they’re all full, but it looks really
cool so we’re gonna go check it out. So we have rented e-bikes, and we’re gonna spend the day cycling around the Five
Lakes at the base of Mount Fuji. Ok so doing all five lakes in one day was a little
optimistic! But we cycled around Lake Kawaguchiko, and we’re not at Saiko Lake. And
look at how beautiful these views are! And it’s so much quieter,
there’s considerably less people. We are now exploring Saiko
Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, which is this really cool traditional Japanese
village, with epic Mount Fuji views. So we’ve come to Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji
Sengen Shrine, and it is so beautiful, tucked into the forest, in between the trees,
and I’m honestly amazed at how few people there are here compared to some of the other main
sites of Mount Fuji. Let’s go check it out! Ok so we’ve not come to Oshino Hakkai, which
is another famous ancient traditional town here at the base of Mount Fuji, it’s
famous also because of the ponds, the water comes directly from Mount Fuji,
which is here hiding behind the clouds. But it’s much busier than the town
we visited yesterday by Saiko Lake. So I saw this spot on social media, with
the tori gate and Mount Fuji behind, and to be honest I thought it was part of a
temple, but it turns out it’s private property and they just charge you to access here and
it’s very orderly, with people queuing to take a photo. I have to say I’m very surprised
at how few people there are here considering how busy how many people there were at Chureito
Pagoda earlier, but it’s a cool spot, there’s only about 5 people in front of us, so we’re
gonna wait and see if we can get a nice photo. The base for our Mount Fuji adventures was the
beautiful Glamping Villa Hanz in Kawaguchiko. This incredible property is the perfect place
to stay if you’re looking for somewhere that isn’t just a room to crash at the end of
the day, but a whole experience in itself. The mood of the property is that
it’s glam, but it’s still camping, so guests are encouraged to actively
participate in things like chopping wood for their fires and preparing
their barbecue dinners and breakfasts. They have two types of properties, the villas
and the paos. The villas are a bit bigger, bit fancier and you get a bit more
help, whilst the paos are super cosy domed tents where you will be turning
on your own fire for the barbecue. To top it all off, Glamping Villa Hanz
has incredible Mount Fuji views and a private Onsen where you can relax at the
end of a long day exploring Mount Fuji. So we are doing our barbecue here at Glamping
Villa Hanz and I think the rice is ready, we made rice on a barbecue!
We’ve got this special box, which we put here, and ooh that looks perfect!
And then we’ve got the meat, the veggies, and the seafood ajillo on the hotpot, it’s
amazing! There’s so much choice and so much food. So at the villa we had a little extra help
with the barbecue, the coal came ready, whilst here at the pao, Ale is tending
to our fire! Preparing our coal, we had to prepare our fire ourselves, and
we’ll soon be able to start cooking. Fire! Thanks for watching guys, I hope you
