小布施と善光寺、1泊2日ひとり旅。新栗とカフェと|のんびりカフェ時間でリフレッシュした長野旅

Hello ☺︎ This time, I took a walk to Nagano. I often ride the Hokuriku Shinkansen, but this was my first time getting off at Nagano Station. I transferred to the Nagano Electric Railway and arrived at Obuse, the town of chestnuts and Hokusai. Please note that the IC card wasn’t valid for boarding . The scenery is lovely. It’s tranquil and pleasant. I haven’t had breakfast yet, so I’ll have breakfast at a cafe. Surrounded by greenery, it’s a calm and comfortable space. I’m happy they open at 7:00 AM. I’m sure I’d be happy to wake up early every day in a place like this. The small flowers on the table are also lovely. I had a bacon and egg sandwich , and I liked the nostalgic glass. The bread was soft, and the bacon and egg were delicious. The guide from Kabuki guided me to the guide center, where they let me store my luggage (for free). I rented a bicycle from the “Municipal Forest Parking Lot.” They kindly explained how to get there , and the people in Obuse were all very kind. At Kabuki, I asked if there were any coin lockers nearby, and they offered to store my luggage if the guide center couldn’t find one. 🥹 Hokusai’s masterpiece from his later years, “Phoenix Glancing in All Directions.” Photography is prohibited at Iwamatsu-in Temple, which is famous for its Phoenix Painting . Just before Iwamatsu-in Temple, there is an old-fashioned cafe and tart shop. I was planning to get takeout, but the food looked so delicious that I decided to have tea there . There is a long, atmospheric cafe space at the back. I saw a Shine Muscat tart in the display case and decided to have one. So happy – it was delicious ☺︎ Thank you for the meal . You can see the thatched-roof Yakushido Hall. It is quiet and mysterious. Yakushido Hall has apparently been designated a national important cultural property. I returned my bike and decided to enjoy a walk around town. I bought some Kyoho grapes at a bargain price and enjoyed them at the hotel. It’s beautiful. It looks like a fun stroll! The Chestnut Path pavement is paved with chestnut bricks. There’s an “open garden” where you can admire private gardens with information boards. Apparently , the culture is one of “everyone’s garden , the inside is ours. ” Perhaps it’s because of this culture that people are so kind. Anyway , I’m hungry after riding my bike, so let’s have lunch. There’s a large hearth, and by the way, there was firewood outside. This modern restaurant, converted from a storehouse, blends into the townscape. It has depth and plenty of seating. I was shown to a bright seat with a view of the terrace. It’s luxurious for one person. The green of the garden, the black of the table, and the red of the dishes are beautiful. Grilled trout rice balls, chazuke, and three appetizers. The photo is completely out of focus. 😅 The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the staff are friendly. The thing on the left appears to be a horse stopper. I’ll enjoy a stroll around the town until it’s time to go. I’ve been discovering the beauty of tenugui since this summer , and when I see one, I can’t help but reach for one… Seeing the sweets lined up in the strainers and baskets somehow warms my heart. My main reason for coming to Obuse this time is to try “Suzaku.” 帰りましたら本当におかずだ。 English: I wasn’t aiming to eat there , but by chance there was a vacancy at the main house and I was able to make a reservation. I’m looking forward to eating there in such a quaint building. “Suzaku” is only available from mid-September for one month. It’s a sweet made by steaming and straining new chestnuts and then serving them in chestnut paste without any additives, allowing you to enjoy the original flavor of chestnuts. I was savoring it while chatting with the person sitting next to me , and everyone had finished eating. The next reservation was about to start, so I couldn’t relax too much. Hokusai, who spent time in Obuse at the invitation of Takai Kozan, is famous for his ceiling paintings at Ganshoin Temple and the festival floats . The inside of the building is famous for its photos ⚪︎ and videos ✖︎. I would like to buy some coffee beans to take home on my way home. The hotel I am staying at is self-check-in and there is no staff on site . You will receive a passcode the day before. There is no sauna in this room , but the suite and junior suite seem to have large saunas. There was a movie theater with a Showa-era feel next to the shopping street near my parents’ house when I was a child. I remember going there with my younger brother during summer vacation… For a nostalgic dinner, I ate at a restaurant I found without any particular destination in mind. I thought it was a soba restaurant, but it turned out to be an izakaya? Both the counter and the tatami room were bustling with locals. I was full! ☺︎ Thank you for the meal! Day 2. Good morning. I came for breakfast, but… a shame. It was closed. I think there was a place near the hotel that opened early… thank goodness. It seems to be a cafe attached to an antique shop. They started opening at 7:30 in September. You can even purchase the chairs used in the cafe. I love relaxing in the morning listening to the sound of coffee brewing. It’s a time that makes me feel happy. I had coffee and toast, and I also listened to their talk. It was a wonderful time. ☕️ We strolled towards Zenkoji Temple. It was still before opening time, but the place was beautiful and had a great atmosphere. It seemed like we could easily get out of Obuse . Like Obuse, the area around Zenkoji Temple is also charming. It was a fun stroll . There were also groups of students on school trips at the temple lodgings. Next time, I might try a temple lodging experience. I went a little off the path to a popular shop, but it seems like you can’t go without a plan. 💧 It can’t be helped. I only had toast for breakfast, so I would have liked to eat more, but I hadn’t had any oyaki yet . It was a tough time in the heat. Thank you. The steamed oyaki is good too. It also looks good for takeout. Now, let’s go to Zenkoji Temple . The pilgrimage to the Kaidan, where you walk through the darkness without knowing what is ahead , connect with the principal image of Buddha, and pray for paradise in the next life. It was my first experience, so I was scared and worried whether I would be able to make it to the exit. There is a shrine just past Zenkoji Temple. I wanted to have lunch at an old-style cafe in front of the shrine, but I was turned down again. There was also a cute cafe across the street, so I decided to go in. It seems they also serve lunch there, but I decided to use the cafe. The recommended roll cake with its cute big round ice was delicious. For lunch, I headed to another cafe. It’s a popular place for everyone. It has a lovely mat. It ‘s a little off the path to the shrine, and there’s seating that’s easy for even one person to sit in. I ordered the mackerel tartar sauce set meal. It’s separated by a cute panel. There are also men dining alone, and it’s a comfortable cafe. Thank you for the meal. I headed to Nagano Station, leisurely walking along the shrine. This trip to Nagano was unplanned, except for making a reservation at Suzaku, and there were many places I was turned down, but I thought that was all part of the journey, and it was fun. There were also many nice cafes, so I’d like to visit again . Next time, I’ll look into it.
