Unreal First Impressions of The Garden Route 🇿🇦 vA6-S2
(Outeniqua Pass, South Africa) – Hello! – Hey! Hey, how are you going? Do you need a push? – No, it’s okay,
it’s okay. I’ll make it slowly, slowly. – Sorry, I don’t wanna… My granddaughter said
I must just take a photo and… – Okay. – All right,
thanks! – You’re welcome! – Hello! How are you? – Hello! Good.
How are you? – I’m good, I’m good. – Oh, it’s okay. Thank you.
I have enough food. – Are you sure? – Yeah, I’m… It’s okay. Thank you!
But thank you… – How are you going? – …very much! Okay. Yeah.
– Yeah, it’s… – That’s good. I’m glad. Sorry, my partner and I
have been following you, so… – Okay. It’s okay. It’s fine.
– You’re enjoying yourself so far? – Yes. – That’s good. – Yeah,
South Africa is very pleasant. – It’s a beautiful country, eh?
– It’s very beautiful. Yeah. – I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
– A bit too hilly around here, though. But… – Oudtshoorn is very, very hot. – Yeah. – And you can be glad
you didn’t come earlier because… – Yeah. – …you would’ve died. – Definitely. – Do you mind
if I take a photo? – No, it’s okay. – Thank you! Enjoy your travel!
– Thank you! Have a good day! Bye-bye! Oh man, I am starting
to feel exhausted, actually. Oh my god. This is hard. I’ve been climbing
all day long so far, almost. Outeniqua Pass. I’m not far from the summit now.
I think the summit is up there. Putain. What the hell? This is deep in the pain. It’s good that I left some weight
to my mother because with my full load, there’s no way I could make it today. Sometimes I have
the impression that the motor, that the non-working motor
adds resistance to my pedaling. I don’t know. It’s weird. Look at this view, guys! That’s a great sign to see.
It’s gonna be 10 easy kilometers. Oh man! Oh, I can’t stand. What an ordeal! What an ordeal it was. Okay, I need to cover myself,
put some water in my bottle. Oh, yes! Oh, we can see the ocean already.
Wow! Incredible. Look at this place! Hello! – Hey! Hello, hello! How are you?
– Thank you! I’m good. How are you? – Fine. And you? – Very good.
– A very long race? – Ah? – A long race? – Yeah, it’s a very long race. Yes.
– From where are you coming? – Today from Oudtshoorn.
– Oudtshoorn? – Oudtshoorn. Yeah. – Yo! – Originally, you are coming
from where? – France. – From France? – France?! – Yes. – You’re traveling with this? – Yes.
– All the way from Joburg? – Now. – Yeah. From France. – Now. Not from France
but… – Just from Oudtshoorn? – With this. – Oudtshoorn? – Today from Oudtshoorn.
– Yeah. – With this? – Yeah. – Okay. – But I came from France with this, also. – So, where are you gonna sleep
tonight? – After George. – After George? – After George. – Knysna? – Yeah.
– Yeah. – No, before Knysna, probably. I don’t know. I’ll see. – Ah, it’s just
too far. – Wilderness, Wilderness. – Wilderness. – Yeah, yeah. – Wilderness. – You must enjoy your race, brother.
– Maybe… – Thank you! – Yeah. Yeah. – Enjoy! – Thank you very much. – Yeah,
yeah. You must enjoy the view, man. It’s gonna get busy now on the road
there. – Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – You mustn’t wait too much. – Yeah,
I’m gonna watch the view and then… – Yeah, yeah. – …hit the road. – Yeah.
Yeah. – So, thank you. – All right. Have a safe trip. – Thank you! – All right,
all right. – Have a good day! – All right. The same to you. Bye! – Bye-bye! – Yeah. – Look at this view, guys.
I don’t even need to… Ah, that’s beautiful! Incredible. Look at that!
The beautiful green mountains. And the Indian Ocean in the distance
with George. Ah, what a place! Ah, I deserve this view, I think. Ah, man. Let’s go down.
I don’t have much time today. Bye-bye! What a place, man! What a place. It’s very funny. The guy
was like, “You came from France. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” You could see he did not believe
a single word I was saying. Oh man. It’s very funny. – Hello, man! – Hello! Hello! And here we are in George!
Here we have a small stadium. – Hi! – Hello! – Ah, good, good?
– How are you? – Good, good, man. – Ah, we are fine. – And you?
– Ah? – Yeah, we must exchange. – Ah, good, man. – Good, good, good!
– Yeah, we must get that one. – Yeah! And I get this one? – [Both] Yeah.
– Yeah, it’s a nice one. Look! – Yeah! – Ah, it’s a nice one.
– It’s a nice one. Yeah, yeah. – Yes, yes, yes. – Ah, let me
take a picture. Yo, that’s nice. Thank you! Goodbye! – Thank you
so much! – Have a good day! – Yeah. – Ciao. – Hopla! Ou Pastorie! A beautiful church. It looks like a quite well-organized
small town, a small city. Hello! – Yes, hello! – George—the city for all reasons. Hello!
– Hey, man! – How are you? – Unbelievable. Yes, yes. Bro, amazing job! – Thank you!
– I know you… Where is it? On TikTok. – TikTok, yes. TikTok, YouTube.
– I don’t remember when I saw you last. I’m from Ethiopia, bruh. – Yeah, yeah,
yeah. – Are you good? – Yeah, I’m good. Yeah. – Good to see you, man. Nice,
nice! – Good to see you, too! – You are… – So you’re from Ethiopia? – You are
Iron Man. I’m from Ethiopia, bruh. – Nice. – Yo, nice to meet you,
bruh. – Nice to meet you, too. – I watched your videos all the way from Ethiopia to all the East African
countries and Cape Town. – Awesome! – Yeah. It’s crazy, bro.
Are you good? – Yeah, a bit crazy. I’m very good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
– Are you safe? – Yeah, I’m good. I’m safe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. – Yeah?
You’ve got a big mentality, bruh. You’re a strong man, you know? – I guess so. Yeah. – Yeah?
You do wonders, bruh. Yes, yes. – Awesome. – Yeah, much, much.
You’re a big man. – Thank you! – God bless. Gid bless. God bless, bruh. – Thank you! – So, all the way
from Ethiopia to here? – Yes. – This is… All year. How long have you been traveling
now? – Traveling for almost four years now. – Four years? – Yes. – Without going home?
– No, I went home a few times. Yeah, yeah. – Okay. God bless you, bruh.
– Awesome. Thank you very much! Yeah. – Lekker, lekker, man. I will see you
again, man. Yes. – Awesome! Great. – Cheers, bruh. What’s your name?
– My name is Sultan. – Sultan? – Sultan Rashidya. – Sultan Rashidya.
– I come from Ethiopia, bro. Yeah. – Nice meeting you. Where in Ethiopia? – It’s 300 km in Ethiopia
from the capital city. – Which side? – We call it Silte, but it’s… Western side. – West side?
Ah, okay. – Western shore. – I’ve never been to the west.
– You’ve never been there. But the country is very big. – Yeah,
I know. Yeah, it’s very big. – Very big. – Beautiful country. – The country
is very big, but… – But we’ll see you. Amazing video. Have a good time… – Awesome! – Yes, yes. – Good luck
to you, man! – Good to see you, brother! – Nice to see you also.
– I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. Yo! Yo, bro! I can’t believe it. – You’re lucky! At the right place
at the right time. – I’m lucky, bruh! Since you were in Ethiopia,
I’m watching you all the way. – Awesome! – All the way. You went
to the Amhara region and… – Yeah. – …all the way we saw. But we
love you, bruh. Have a good one! – I love Ethiopia as well. – Cheers,
man! – Good luck to you, man! – Go! – A touch of Ethiopia here. Look at the mountains behind!
How beautiful! Oh, wow! Some hitchhikers trying to pay for a lift. Good luck! – Hello! – Hey! Hello! – Hello, man! Let’s go! – Let’s go! Yeah. – Oh, you’re finally
here. How are you, man? – Very good. How are you? – How are you? I’ve been
following you for such a long time. How are you, brother? – Nice. Very good,
yeah. – Yeah, man. You’re doing good. Good timing from Cape Agulhas.
How long did it take you? – No, no. I… I took a break after. There is some delay.
Yeah. – Okay. – I resumed from Swellendam. – Oh man, it’s lovely to see you. Me, my wife, our family,
we’ve been watching you. – Awesome! – You’re one cool
customer, man. You really are. Welcome to South Africa!
I hope you’re having a good time. – Thank you very much!
It’s a pleasant country. Well… – Yeah, it makes you feel well,
man. – …more than pleasant. Yeah. – Hats off to you. – Thank you very much! – Can I take a picture of you
with my phone? – Of course. No worries! Yeah. – Thank you! Thanks for taking the time
to stop, man. – Oh, it’s okay. A little rest… – Oh shame,
man. – …doesn’t hurt. – Cheer together. Thank you very much! – You’re welcome! – You’ve got
a lot of balls, buddy, going… – Yeah. I guess. Yeah. – …to the summit.
Has South Africa been good to you? – Yeah, awesome. Yeah. – Oh,
lovely stuff. – Yeah, it’s awesome. – So I wish you a pleasant journey.
What’s your next stop? – Wilderness. Then Knysna. I do the Garden Route
now. – Okay. That’s the nice part. You’re gonna enjoy it.
You’re gonna enjoy it. – And then I’ll head
towards Lesotho, Moz. Mozambique, Zim,
and then Angola and up to… – Yeah. – Up to Europe.
I know you journey back up. The way that you’re going, you’re gonna enjoy
Wilderness and the Garden Route. – I guess so. I imagine. – Good travels!
– Thank you very much! – Take care! God bless! Bye-bye! – Have a good day! Thank you! You too.
– You too. You too. Yeah. – What a life! Wow, beautiful! What a place! Ah man, freaking last climb. With all the cars, it’s horrible. Ah, I finally unblocked the road.
Oh my god! Freaking horrible last climb. Look at this place! Oh man. Wow! The beginning of the Garden Route! – Hey, hello! – Hello! Another viewpoint. Well,
that’s the real viewpoint. Oh man! First view
over the Garden Route. Wow! I guess I understand
why it’s called Wilderness now. What a beautiful place. Incredible. That’s quite a nice present! What a place. Let’s go! Let’s go to Wilderness,
guys, to the true wilderness. Oh my word! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – You’re going to that side?
– Yes. – Okay. Go, go! – Thank you! Hello. Beautiful small
downtown area. Hello! Hello! Oh my word!
Oh my god! I made it. I made it. And I have—I don’t know—
one third, a quarter of my full load. I’m not ready to travel without… Without the motor
with everything I carry. – Mr Kino! – Yes! – How
is it? – Good, good! – Yo! I’ve been following you
all over your videos, man. Yo! – Awesome! – Yo, I must say
you encourage me. – Can we take a picture?
– Yeah, yeah, of course! – Yo! Yo! You have courage.
– I’m gonna come here. – Yo! I watch basically all your videos. – Awesome! – Yo! It’s nice to see you
in person, man. – Yes. How are you? – How are you? – Man! – Very good. And
you? How are you? – How are you doing? How are you doing? – Good, good. How are you? – Yo, man. It’s really good
to see you. – Good to see you, too! – Nice. Basically, most of the time, I look
every day on YouTube to see if there are… – Oh, really? – …new videos. Yes. – Awesome. – Yo! – Yo. – Yo, it’s nice
to see you, man. – That’s comfortable? – How are you doing? – Yeah,
it’s comfortable. Yeah, yeah. – Yo! – Good, good. How are you? – Damn!
– I saw you in George. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was in George. Yeah, yeah. – Yo, I saw your old video coming
to Mozambique, Egypt, all of that. – Yes. – Yo! – All across Africa. Yeah.
– Yo! You’re from France, right? – Yeah. – Yo! Nice, man. – And where are you
off to? – Here. Today here. – Today here? – Wilderness. – Tomorrow? – Yes, yes.
– Tomorrow, Knysna. – Okay. – Yo! – What is this in aid of?
– Ah? – What is this in aid of? What are you doing it for?
– He’s enjoying it basically. – For enjoyment. – Just basically
for fun, he’s riding. – For enjoyment. To discover, to see how the people are.
– Yes, yes. Yo! – To see how the world is. – I was begging… In the last couple
of videos I saw from you… – Yeah. – …when you were at Cape Point… – Yeah.
– …I was begging just to see you in person. – Oh, yeah? – And today, you made my day. – Somehow you… – Yo! – You were
at the right time at the right place. Yeah. – Yo! – My word! I saw you
in George. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, it’s downhill. So it’s…
– Kino. – From George, it’s easy. But from Oudtshoorn, it was difficult. – Yes, yes. Yes, yes. – You’re from
Oudtshoorn? – Today from Oudtshoorn. Yeah. – Yo! – That’s incredible.
– Now you really… You encourage me. Yo, I must say. – So today,
you’re gonna be here. – Yeah, yeah. – I must say. – Where are you staying?
– Not far from here. I don’t know. Somewhere around there.
– At a guest house or something? – Yeah. – Okay. Yo! – And you pedal
whilst you are recording with one hand? – Yes, exactly. No, no, no.
I don’t record all the time. – Oudtshoorn. Oh! – All the time.
– I don’t record all the time. – Okay. – Sometimes I record… – Yo!
– …if something happens. – Yeah. Listen. – Yes, man. I can’t believe it.
– The same here. – Yo! – Congratulations. – Thank you very much! Yeah.
– And where did you start? In France? – In France. Yeah. – Yes, in France. You’ve been on the road
for like three or more years? – Yeah, almost four years now. Yeah.
– Yo! – Well, I took breaks, but… – Yes, yes. Yes, yes. Yes, yes.
– Almost four years in total. – So you’ve been following him?
– I’ve been following him all the way, man. All the way. All the way. I watched
basically all his videos. – Is it so? – Yeah, from the first one. – I mean,
where can one check them out? – On YouTube. – On YouTube. – Kino
Yves. K-I-N-O. – Actually, I was parked. I saw your… – Oh, so you came to see me. – And I decided to… Yes, I decided
to see the man cuz I saw you in George. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – Shu, shu, shu, shu! The first thing… Can I take a picture
of you? – Yeah, of course. No worries! – My, it’s incredible! – Yo! And I
even saw the one… – Y-V-E-S. – I even watched that video
where they cut your rack… – Oh, yeah. In Lebanon, yeah.
– …all of that. Yeah, yeah. – Oh, in Lebanon? – Yeah. In Lebanon,
some… – In Lebanon, yeah. They cut… – I got into trouble. Yeah, some people
cut my rack. – They cut the rack. – To try to catch me easily on the road
and to ambush me on the road. – Yes, yes. – Is it so? – Yeah. Not everyone is nice. Yeah. – Yeah. – But the vast majority
of people are very nice. – Very nice. Yes. – That’s for sure. – How did you
survive it? – I figured out the plan. So I told them I was gonna go
this way and then right. And then I went this way and then
left. And then I took a minibus. In spite of riding this. – Yes, yes. So then they could not find me
on the road. – Yes, exactly. Shap. – But well done, Mr Kino. – Well done!
– Thank you very much! – Well done. – Nice meeting you. – Yeah,
well done. – Well done! Well done! – Lovely meeting you, Kino. Shap.
– Not all of us can do what you are doing. – I guess… Yeah, if you really want it,
yeah, you can do it. – Yes, yes. – But it’s hard. – You really encourage
me. – This one… Actually, I saw you. And I was like, “No, I want to follow you
and see where you are going.” – Awesome! – All the best! – Thank you
very much! Yeah. – Thank you! Thank you so much, Kino! May you have
a blessed day. – Thank you! You too! – And enjoy the rest of your journey.
I hope everything goes good. – Hopefully. Yeah. It will go… – Up until the end,
when you reach back in France… – Back in Europe. Yeah. – …I will follow
all the videos. – Awesome! Good luck, man! Nice meeting you. – Thank you! – Good luck to you. – Yo, you made
my day now. Yo, thank you! – Awesome! – Thank you so much! All the best!
All the best, Kino. – All the best. Thank you! Yeah, bye-bye! – Bye,
Kino! – Bye! – Let me now just… You are not raising funds. You are not
doing anything. – No. – Not at all? Shu. – If… No. If… – Anything
that one can do to support you? – Some people support me
through my videos. Yeah. But that’s all. I just show what happened
to me on the road, what happens to me. I just show… – And then we can do it
online? Can we…? – Oh, yes, yes. You can support me online. Yeah,
yeah. – So we can support you online. – Yes, yes. If you want to support me,
it’s possible online. Yeah, there is… – Absolutely! – There…
I have a Patreon and… Yeah. On YouTube, I think you can
also support. I have on my… Under my videos, I put a Patreon. – Yes. – So there is… And there,
some people do support me. Yeah, yeah. But I don’t actively promote. – Yes.
– I don’t actively ask for it. – Yes. – I put the platform because I know… Well, it’s better for me
if some people want to support me. So they can support me, but… – Yes.
What got you to do this? – I like it. I enjoy seeing the world, seeing
how people are in different places. – You’ve been doing it for four years. – Yes, four years. Yeah. – So,
almost every day you’re on the road. – No, not almost every day. Then
I need to work, edit the videos. It takes a lot of time. – Yes. – So, two-
thirds of the time is editing the videos. – Okay. – And one-third is on the tricycle. – Oh, that’s incredible. You’ve
just bowled me over. – Awesome. – I was just at the restaurant
waiting for a meal. – Yeah. – And luckily, I was in the car. And then I saw you. I was like,
“No, I saw this man in George.” – What the hell is he doing?
– And I was on the phone. And I was telling someone about you.
I just said, “I see this man on the road. I wonder what he’s doing.
He seems to be up to something.” But really, how do you navigate
the roads here coming here? – I have an offline map, so… – Really?
– I have a GPS. – But with the roadworks. – Sometimes, it’s a little bit…
Like the last hill. – Yeah. – The small hill. – Yes. – Yeah. It’s not very pleasant
because there are many cars. They all overtake you.
I created a big traffic jam. – Yeah. – But what can you do?
– But I think people love you. – Yeah, it’s okay in the end.
The people are nice on the road here. It’s okay. – Okay. All the best
on the… – Thank you very much! Yeah, have a good evening!
– Thank you! Bye! – Bye-bye! Oh my god, what an arrival! Is my mother here? I think she’s here.
Yeah. Oh, f*/*/*. Oh, this is steep. Ah? – [FR] I don’t know where you went.
– What do you mean? – I saw you. You didn’t see me? – No. – Ahhhhh!
I waved at you, and you turned. – Ah, I don’t know. I followed
my GPS. I didn’t see you. Then people were talking to me.
You were looking for me? – Yeah, I thought, “Where did he go?”
I waved at you, and you turned. Go ahead. I’ll open for you.
– Some people were talking to me. – I was looking for you. I thought,
“He disappeared.” – [EN] She was… – #10. – [FR] What? – 10! – 10? Okay.
[EN] She was looking… She saw me. She waved at me. I did not see her. And then I talked to people.
You’ve seen it. So she was like… She was looking
for me all around the town. Nice! So tonight,
we’ve got a fancy apartment. That was kind of
the only option with… I like it when we both
have our rooms. Wow. So yeah, we went
a little bit fancy today. Oh, there is a washing machine. Oh, yes. Look at my clothes
being washed! This is luxury, guys. Stop. We made it! So… Thank you very much! [FR] What
is it? – I don’t know. Chicken and… I don’t know what. Spicy. – [EN] Chicken?
Chili chicken. She bought me some… It’s very funny because I didn’t know,
but she’s very camera-shy. So she sees the camera. So she quietly
walks around to go behind the camera. Very good. So it’s good.
It’s good. [FR] Thank you, mom! – I took this out
cuz it was written “dangerous”. I think that the person, the one
doing… I’ll tell you later. [FR] He forgot things
in the washing machine. – Really? – Yes, it was full. – [EN] Let’s go to visit the apartment,
guys. Oh, look at that. That’s funny. It’s open up there.
There is… Oh, wow! Look at that. Oh, so that’s the main entrance. Let’s see the entrance, the inside
of a fancy, fancy, fancy apartment. Look at that! Oh, wow! Beautiful kitchen. My mother has her wine. For me,
I don’t drink much wine because… Yeah, I’m not gonna be able to ride
the next day if I drink too much wine. A small balcony with an electric fence
1 m away. Look at this place! Beautiful! It’s a pity we’re only staying
one night here. And the rooms. It’s a big, big place. I think
there are three rooms. Here, the first room.
Oh my god, that’s beautiful. That’s very beautiful. So we paid, I think, a bit less
than $80 for two people. Very clean bathroom.
Oh my god, it’s all fancy. I mean, I guess for this price,
for such a big… Oh my god! Holy moly! That’s awesome. I guess we’re both gonna have
a very beautiful room. Look at the roof; I mean,
I guess for this price, such a thing… it’s quite cheap
for such a big thing. And the third room. Oh my word! Laundry basket. Another beautiful
and clean shower and toilet. Look at that! Some other tourists
there. Some surfers apparently. Nice place! Welcome to Wilderness! Hopla! Let’s go see the beach
before sunset. Look at this place, guys. Look at this. All the fog. And… Here we come to the… Oh la
la la la. Here we come to the… The Garden Route. Wilderness. What a place! What a place. Look at that. It’s true
you do feel the wilderness. Look at all the fancy
tourist accommodations. South Africa is quite something! Wow! Okay, guys, so here was
a quick look, a quick first glimpse, at the Garden Route of South Africa. What an incredible place! See you
for the next adventures! Ciao, guys!
After meeting the lovely owners of the restaurant that makes one of the best pizzas in South Africa, I finish climbing Outeniqua Pass and then I enjoy a delightful scenic descent to George and then to Wilderness. As I arrive in Wilderness, I am shocked by the sheer beauty of the famous Garden Route.

South Africa is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Visited it three times and will visit again. Unfortunately since I am from Uganda, I am subjected to a rigorous visa application process everytime I wish to visit. Thank you Kino for taking us around the world in the comfort of our living rooms.
You are such an inspiration for people to follow their dreams. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. ❤
@kino, have you been through Chapman's Peak Drive, near the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town?
Kino can you please watch a springbok rugby game whilst you are still in SA they play on Saturday in Durban
I see my old friend Simon Phage hooking up with you in Wilderness
At this rate; as a Kenyan, I can't even feel bad if you chose South Africa over Kenya for your retirement. Such a beautiful country.
Beautiful place man

Welcome to the garden route…. Our slice of paradise.
Oh my, that apartment in Wilderness was just stunning.
South Africa is THE BEST country in the world, but to make it permanently the best, I have only two words of advice to the voting people of South Africa, and they must repeat the following in their minds before they vote:
VOETSAK ANC!
One more important point, this video CLEARLY shows that 99,99999% of African (black) people are genuinely good and friendly human beings!
Beautiful video's with u and mom.
🎉
@ Yves, seeing you and your Mom by the beach is Priceless !!! Replace the Motor before you burnout.
