[Music] Some food. Food. Food. Yeah. Some bars. Some gels. Yeah. Yeah. I think uh this is the camera. Yeah. What’s this? Yeah. Modified modified modified handard. hot and very crowded. Change this. Okay, I think so. Yeah, every spring. Every spring. RG3. [Applause] [Laughter] [Music] on this one. Yeah. [Music] [Laughter] ladies. I’m okay. Hey, track’s done. How How this goes? Yeah, track looks good. Good. Nice, wide, and open. Hilly, lot of hills. Looks good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some technical stuff. Some some technical stuff. Yeah. Fair bit of rocks. That’s looking good. Dry, so it’s going to be dusty tomorrow, but uh it looks good. They make such fun tracks here. Uh, I’m always I’m always excited and um we never get to ride anything like that in Australia, so it’s pretty awesome. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thanks. Okay. Is this okay? It’s good. Good. Sex. Yeah. So, just got to stay hydrated. Yeah. It’s so hot. So hot. But um yeah, it’s going to be good. Uh-huh. Yeah. A little bit tight. Little bit tight. Yeah. So, we go. This is loose. Uh loose. Yeah. We tighten them up a bit. Okay. Okay. Uh you you want to tighten? Yeah. I’m going to do that. Okay. So, it’s under there. Yeah. Your Wi-Fi wants you to get there. Yeah. [Music] Yeah. Connect. Ah. What type? SW type maps. I have aggressive aopic expert map. Expert map. Uh Uh-huh. See if I connect. Okay. Yeah. [Music] Ah, okay. Yes. Oh, unable to pass between Okay. Yeah. Especially I mean yeah downhill when your weight is on the front anyway. Yeah and front end bit loose when we walk it look like it’s one of the loose stuff. Yes, which is when you’re accelerating out of the corner. You have the scooter hooker first time first time. So I have really I have a Australian cooling vest. It’s a Uh, this one’s better. Yeah. Oh, it’s good. Okay. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Definitely come. We We need it today. We come from 10° 30. So, we’re going to get hot today. Start and then go to What was it about? What was that? Door stop. Stop. Stop. Of course, [Music] baby. I don’t know. I don’t know. Hi. But the other two girls got injured and then then decided to not send it. Okay. Otherwise, I would have been there. But I’m here instead. This you still want the place I Yeah, it’s nice. That’s fast. You going to do another one? Very expensive. Yeah. Yeah. Very expensive. It’s hard to get everything together. I’m only got that much left on the very inside. They’re like that. Throttle. Throttle. Yeah, the throttle broke off. So, I only got that much to hold on to. Too bad. Yeah, I’ll put it back. Look at screwdriver. Uh uh a bit Absolutely. Yeah. Change the suspension. Okay. And then it’s also very uh atoo good. Do you have a point? Okay. Six. Can I have a screw? Yeah. to win. Okay. [Music] Okay. And okay. [Music] Oh. Oh. Can’t hold on. Yeah. Uh uh I think the standard suspension is a bit stiff. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, you need to strong suspension. Yeah. I don’t know. Yes. It’s very tough. Okay. Okay. So for need the sound Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] This comes up. Japanese campai. Congratulations. Thank you very much. Uh thank you very much again to uh having me here in Japan. Um the guys are riding really well today. They were quite close all day, so it was good racing. Um it was a really fun track. I had I had fun. I enjoyed it. And my uh Triumph bike with RG3 suspension was very good. And the IOC tires were great. So, uh, thanks to the whole crew from, um, IQ3, uh, Japan and everybody and for getting us over here and, uh, the JNCC series. I really appreciate you getting me over here. Thank you. Okay. Hey. Okay. Okay. Okay. You’re so busy. But one time you must come and visit me. Oh. Oh. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. to my my my house. Welcome [Music] mandary house. We can we can come speaking. We’re done. [Music] hot. [Music] This this point. Yes. Is dry little Well, yeah. We’ve had some uh some dust come through. Yeah. Through the airfield. So, it’s very hot and dry conditions. Yeah. Okay. So, first one. Uh how’s how’s Kimadada uh uh track? Yeah, the track is pretty cool. Um I really like riding these um snow snow field tracks. They’re really fun. A lot of up and down hills and uh this track in particular uh was quite loose and dry, so the track broke away. Uh got very rough. Um but yeah, I really liked it. It was good fun. Mhm. Uh is it? So that was far more grueling than it looked. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. Yeah. But um it wasn’t like the most technical track, but it got tough and and it got technical because the way the track uh deteriorated. Yeah. But um it was kind of like a medium medium track in term of tech technicality. Technically. Yeah. Uh it means a gap and um yeah little stuff like that like um even the steps they had that was quite interesting. Um the second step was really steep. So uh that was yeah that was quite like you had to be you had to get your line right to to do that right correct and um but uh my bike my bike setup was really good for the rough track. So, I felt quite safe the whole time and and could ride at a at a good pace, but be um try and reserve energy the whole time. M uh uh how about uh uh ouds? Yeah. Yeah, not so much roots. There was like some sections where the same thing where the dirt all broke away and it had some roots, but um yeah, not too much. Yeah, it was okay. Okay. Uh, how about uh Emily? Uh, track on the uh yeah, the track was a pretty cool track and um yeah, I struggled a bit, but uh after I had that crash and we fixed the bike up and I made the suspension a bit harder after that. I felt a bit better and yeah, but it’s cool like Stefan said, it’s cool to ride in the ski fields and uh it feels a bit like a a little bit like the European tests that you get at the 60 and that with all the off campus and more everything on the side of a hill, which is cool that you get to have that here too. And there was some technical hills in there as well. So, yeah. Uh that type uh is no in no no place in Australia that type. Yeah. No no no no no no fields or anything like that. Uh you get a lot of cameras and technical tracks but in a different way. Yeah. So not ski fields. No ski. We can get Yeah. Like Emma said can get similar conditions. Yeah. uh not so much elevation, the big hills, but uh similar conditions, but yeah, we don’t have any races in the ski field, so that’s really cool. Yes. Uh what what’s different from Australia? I think a lot of our races are on private property, so it might be a person’s farm or something like that. Many times we race in those sort of uh places. So, uh yeah, the the terrain varies a bit, but it’s never such a big vast open area. Uh not very not very often for us anyway. If it is that open, it’s normally flat. You can get open areas, but then it’s not hilly. Ah yeah. Okay. So before the race, uh the organ organizer made the unusual decision uh to shorten it by 30 minutes. Uh when you hear this D change, how did you adjust your race strategy? Yeah. Um well, it’s I guess for me almost every time I’ve come here, I’ve thought the race was a certain length, but then it’s been different. So I start the race not knowing exactly how long I’m going to race for. Uh but we we did end up racing for 2 hours. So I was thinking we’re going to race an hour and a half, but we still raced the original 2 hours. So yeah, it for me it can be very confusing. Um I think the the second race, second JNC race I did, we were on the start line. Yeah. And I could see the bunting for the start and they had changed the track. So I was asking my competitors which way do we go? No one said I don’t know. So every race I have done here has been confusing one way or another. But it’s also fun. It’s it’s a part of it. Okay. Okay. How about uh every so um yeah, I think it was pretty good in the in the heat and that cuz it was very hot. Yeah. And um yeah, I struggled a bit with the heat and not feeling the best, being a bit sick. So I was pretty happy with it being a bit shorter. Yes. Uh before that uh you’re so sick. Yeah. Yeah. Pors. So yeah, like body aches. Sore body and body aches. Yeah. The night before I was not feeling good. Yeah. Yes. I was pretty happy there. Okay. Uh uh I I I don’t know. Seven crime. I I don’t I don’t watch. Yeah. But uh it’s a uh this this Kijim Madera uh signature difficult crime. You you know seventh crime. No crime. No seventh crime. Maybe a long long crime. Yeah. A long long long crime. Yes. Maybe many many bright ass stacks. Uh no no there was one one steep climb. Yes. Maybe. Yeah, that was it was not it was not super long. Very steep. That had a few riders stuck. Yeah. Yeah, it was you really had to get your bottom turn right and just full gas. Oh, yes. Uh many riders. Uh left line. Yeah. So, but uh you you write a right line. Oh, yeah. Right or middle? Why? Why is it for me? It looked like the better line. Better line. I think so. Yeah. Oh, okay. So okay stair uh double stair. Mhm. Uh um don’t uh you saw a porn rider ahead and choose the escape route without hesitation. Uh with the ski with your skill level uh you likely could have host your way through. M Yeah. Why did you make the decision not to go uh like second lap? Yeah. riders crash. Yeah. So, first lap I went up. Uh second lap and third lap there was riders crash. Too risky. Nothing. Yeah. So, just go around. Yeah. Okay. So, and for me, I tried to plan my race. I really tried not to crash. Yeah. Every time you crash, you you lose so much energy in the heat and you get overheated. Uh so, for me, the risk to crash or get stuck on that step was not worth it. Well, I go around and I use use no energy. Mhm. Yeah. So, that was the main thing. I didn’t want to risk it. Uh I I pretty much decided before the race if there is people crashing or someone right in front of me, I just go around. Okay. Okay. Just to save energy. Okay. Uh your style it it means your style. Yeah. Sorry. Your your race style it means risk risk. Sorry. You you are racing racing style. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. I just tried to have a plan trying to be smart. Yeah. That was And it was a long way around it. Yeah. It was pretty quick to go around. Maybe 5 seconds slower. But if you crash, you lose Yeah. 20 seconds, you know. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Oh, I we I crashed uh in Kijij how many times? I I had one crash. One crash. Uh this was uh two lappers on the inside. Yeah. And then I went outside in a fast corner with a lot of loose rock uh loose dirt. Yeah. And I was in the powder and hit something. Didn’t see it already. So yeah, I got the bars to my stomach and I injured my thumb. It’s not so good. But um I came away. Okay. So just one crash. Just one crash. How about I think I had three. Three. Three. And one of them they when they wrecked my whole race where I broke the throttle tube. Yeah. S crash. It means the third crash. No, that was the second one. Second count. Oh yeah. And that was in that in the hill in the hill. It was like a meter from the top. I made it up the other laps and then on lap three I was like a meter from the top and I just fell. Got stuck in front of it. Yeah. Just didn’t get enough speed. Okay. So, just broke the throttle tube, unfortunately. Mhm. Usually you uh you I think usually uh you you very so smooth sliding uh uh you you don’t didn’t you do not crash maybe you usually um yeah, I have crushes. I think we all do if we try to push ourselves and and things happen like it might not be your fault either or or like if there’s a big bump that throws you out. Okay. I do have crushes. Okay. So you Emily, you you write uh in this maybe uh 20 20s uh most of first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first fast first rap in the top 20 yeah top 20 uh how about do you think this position um very disappointing disappointing yes yeah I can yeah I wasn’t riding very good at all but I know like I can do a lot better. I wasn’t comfortable and I had never had so much cramps in my life, I think, in my arms. I struggle to hold on. But yeah, I know I can do a lot better. So, I’m a bit disappointed with my riding, but it was a really fun experience to Okay. get to try the race and hopefully we can if we if I get another chance I can uh hopefully get it all together and stay on the bike and don’t make mistakes and feel a bit better. Okay. So, next target. What do you think? Sorry. Next. Next target. Next race target. Oh, top 10. Top 10. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. Yeah. So, uh in your pre previous interview, you joked we we’ll see tomorrow if you if the 450 was a mistake. Why not? You said what the joking been a mistake for the Yeah. Yeah. Oh, so you see tomorrow if it’s a mistake or not. Yeah. Yes. No. I like the 450. Oh, yes. I feel good on the 450. Like I like 250 and the 450. I definitely don’t think it was the 450’s fault why I wasn’t riding good. I don’t think it had anything to do with that. I think that was all on me. So, but it’s it’s difficult as well. Um I brought some I brought a shock spring for my bike and uh I use uh the motocross 254 with small adjustments in Australia. So, my bike was quite similar to what I’m used to. Um, Emily has never raced the enduro bike in Australia. So, yeah. Yeah. And we didn’t get time to do any testing before the race. Okay. And I had this standard suspension on and it wasn’t really working. We just didn’t know what to expect. Yeah. Yeah. Race in Australia uh 450 motor. No, 250 motor. Ah, 250 250 motocross. Okay. Yeah. TF uh 250X. Yeah. Mhm. But the next uh the next race we have in 2 weeks in Australia, she’s most likely going to race the 450 E 450. Oh, okay. Yes. And I’m I’m staying on the 250 for this season. First ride in uh Japan. 450. First fast first ride. 450. Yeah. 450. Yeah. Try this this time. Really? First race. First fast race. We’ve been we’ve been riding it a little bit. Ah yeah. But um maybe maybe three times 10 10 hours maybe max. So it’s quite new. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. How do you think uh for 50 lace? I feel it’s good cuz you can be smooth on it. Mhm. you can ride it a lot on higher gear and be a lot smoother instead of have to rev it a lot more than a 250. And that’s what why I wanted to try to race it as well. Um yeah, no, it was good. I just needed more test time on it, I think, to know what to do with do some suspension changes and Yeah. M so uh in what uh women’s uh don’t uh ride 450 uh really in the world enduro in world endur like ras or yeah in the world enduro it’s open class open class but in the motocross it’s 250 class yes enduro it’s open ah yeah yeah yeah yeah you can ride whatever bike you want yes yes so but Uh not so many uh women’s right 450. No, there is a couple but it’s not many. No, most people most women are on 250 or 350. Yeah. Yeah. But there is a couple that raise 450. Uh-huh. Great. Okay. So uh you are next targets uh in in bar Australia and Japan. Yeah. For both of us or Yeah. I mean at the moment we’re just racing in Australia. Um so back to race finish out the season in Australia. Um we don’t really have any plans to to race world enduro at the moment. Um Emily likes to do 6 days if she gets selected. But um at the moment we’re just racing the the Australian series and when the opportunity comes up, we love coming to Japan. I’ve been here quite a few times now, Emily’s first time and um yeah, we love coming here. So when when we get the chance to come to Japan, we love to do that. Okay. Every Yeah. And yeah, like Stephan said, finish off the season in Australia and um sort of see what happens for next year. But the plan at the moment is to keep racing in Australia and yeah, maybe come back here. Who knows if we come back here again or but yeah, we got the next race in Australia in 2 weeks. We got one week in our home and come home and then got the next race there and then we got another one after that. So that’s it for Australia and yeah, next year see what happens with other races, what races we do. But um yeah, it would be cool to do next year six days as it is the 100 six days. See what happens. Okay. Okay. And maybe Yeah, like you said, maybe come back uh in October for a JC possibly. Yeah. Um so if everything works out with the scheduling, um hopefully we can make that happen. Okay. Uh finally uh please give a message to Japanese fans. Maybe I uh you you look uh lo. Oh yeah. Yes. For example. Yeah. Yeah. No, it’s it’s really cool. Um I mean if I was going to give any advice uh like we spoke about with the guy we met yesterday is to to work hard. Um if you want to achieve something um just work hard and have uh set yourself some goals. Mhm. Uh and work on uh many things. So I think in Japan it it appears uh many riders might do quite a bit of riding. Yeah. But maybe not so much other stuff. I think it’s important to do uh off bike physical training um strength training um and then on the bike to train both speed, endurance and technicality. So work work. Okay. Okay. So Eric, um for women or just everyone, uh for all the Japanese women in the sport, I feel like uh just go for it. Don’t be scared of entering a bigger class or something bigger class. Oh, cuz you told me there wasn’t any women in the what was the class was it called? A1 or the uh A12. They do the farming. Yes. Uh where is cross? Yeah, I feel like just push yourself to do the harder tracks and do the full loop cuz it will make you better and stronger and uh yeah, like Stephan said, I feel like there is a lack of training off the bike. They ride a lot and you have to remember to train outside the like off the bike as well because if you’re not strong Yeah. it’s going to make it really hard on the bike and uh yeah, if you do a lot of strength training and uh just uh cardio and that it will help you a lot on the bike as well. and then just keep training and okay put your goals there and don’t be afraid of putting them pretty high and just try to reach them. Okay. So uh what do you what what part of is most important of muscle body actually everything everything everything you need to I feel like you need to remember the whole body but a very big thing that people forget is the core the whole midsection. Yeah, cuz you need to be strong in the core and the legs as well. But if you start talking about that, you need to be strong in the arms. You need to be strong. But definitely a lot of people forget the core, which is the stomach and the back and the hips. Yeah. Cuz if you’re not strong there, then it makes it hard on the bike and have the right form on the bike. Okay. Okay. So, thank you so
