Brutal😱 Autumn Equinox🍁🍂 Hinohara/Okutama⛰️ ride with Xert Breakthrough🥈and Hinohara PR🥇
00:52:57 – Xert Breakthrough/W’ depleted

The Autumn Equinox delivered perfect weather and a brutal challenge on the iconic 東京HC HINOHARAステージ. The goal was to empty the tank and see what happened. The result? A new Personal Record and a significant Xert Breakthrough.
Join me for Part 1 of this ride, focusing entirely on the climb. Despite being heavier than on my previous attempts, I managed to push through and trigger a +6W increase to my Functional Threshold Power (FTP). This means the improvement in my raw power output and my power-to-weight ratio (W/kg) was substantial.
In this video, I’ll take you through the effort, the scenery of the Hinohara climb on a perfect autumn day, and the final push that secured the breakthrough. From the breakthrough to the summit it was another brutal effort trying to beat the avatar (i.e., my former PR) of my back. For fellow cyclists and data nerds, this is a real-world look at how a maximal effort can redefine your fitness signature.
This video is all about the ascent – the pain, the perseverance, and the beautiful Hinohara scenery. The epic descent down into Okutama is coming in Part 2, so make sure you’re subscribed!
