This time, I’ve combined two weeks into one video One week at a time would have been fine,
but it just so happened that I made a whirlwind trip back to my hometown in Yamagata I went to Yamagata on a Friday night bus
and came back on a Sunday night bus At my usual video pace, it would have been cut off,
so I wanted to connect them somehow Just for that reason, I made two weeks
into a single video It means I was able to properly edit
two weeks’ worth of daily diary videos You might think if I have that much free time,
I should be working instead But I feel like I was able to accomplish this
in its own way I don’t really know why,
but I have a quiet sense of satisfaction from being able to work on it steadily The biggest thing in these two weeks
was the whirlwind trip back to Yamagata It’s my wife’s parents’ home
I went back to Obanazawa City in Yamagata My wife, eldest son, and fourth son were visiting their hometown in Yamagata,
so I wanted to see them and went It was a lot of fun
And I came back thinking how much fun it was I returned here on Monday,
but they all came back on Tuesday It was like, “I went all that way to see you,
and you came back right away” The second thing is related to work, I’ve been participating
in things like BNI and Needs Match There were many of those networking-like encounters
during these two weeks The third thing is the most trivial one, but I resumed commuting by kick scooter,
which I had stopped since January of this year You might be wondering what a kick scooter commute is
It’s not electric, it’s a manual one It’s like a bigger version of the one
that little kids play with Having this versus not having it
makes a huge difference in the morning It’s hard to explain, but it’s really fast
Getting to the station in the morning is fast Walking is the only option, but it takes nearly 30 minutes,
so I want to shorten the time somehow But there are times I come home after drinking for work,
or it might be raining on the way back There are many different scenarios
In those cases, if I use a bicycle, I might break the law
or be physically unable to ride it When I was wondering if there was another way,
a senior from my university told me there was a good method He said, “I use a kick scooter,”
and that’s what got me started Last year, I thought it might be a bit dangerous,
so I had stopped this year But I’ve started again There are many downsides to resuming,
but it’s just so convenient I can save 10 to 20 minutes in the morning
And it’s simply exhilarating and fun When I’m zipping down a hill,
a middle-aged guy like me thinking a kick scooter is fun is a bit strange,
but well, it is fun You know how there are things you’re forced to do,
things you can’t avoid,
things you have to do, right? Traveling to a client’s office, commuting to work,
having to wake up early There are all sorts of things, right?
And if it’s something I have to do, I think it’s better to do it
in as enjoyable a way as possible I wonder if there’s a fun way to do it
That’s where a bit of playfulness comes in This video might be a perfect example of that Although, in this case, it’s not something I have to do;
I probably don’t need to do it at all The fact that there are actually people watching
is very encouraging After a year or two
I’ve been making these videos for about two years now It’s surprisingly fun to watch them myself I rarely go out of my way to rewatch my own videos,
so it’s like I don’t even remember them After about a year, I might suddenly think, “Huh?”
“Today last year for example, August 27th” “What was I doing on August 27th last year?”
When I watch the video at times like that, it’s incredibly interesting
The video triggers all sorts of memories, like, “Oh, that’s what was happening then,”
or “I haven’t grown at all since then” Or, “Huh? I feel like I’ve made
a lot of progress in this area” It really is like a diary, or a record If there’s anyone watching,

佐藤聖士です。一週間まとめ動画（今回は2週間ぶん）のご視聴ありがとうございました。この週は、祝日の月曜日に息子たちと渋谷でスパニッシュランチしたり、柏で飲んで船橋に前泊したり。金曜日の深夜バスで山形へ帰省し、日曜日の深夜バスでこちらに戻る弾丸帰省。山形では最高司令官や息子たちと蕎麦を堪能し、美術館の古代エジプト展へ出かけるなど短い夏休みを楽しみました。所沢へ戻るとキックボード（非電動）通勤を再開。同僚や学生時代の友人との飲み会など、仕事も遊びも全力で駆け抜けた楽しい2週間でした。皆様、今週も実りある一週間になりますように。
