Top 10 Japanese Cities That People Love So Much They Want To Go Back Again Hello everyone, welcome to Go Went Polls. This is an extra-long version. This is because we are doing a poll about Japan. I feel that if we make it a short clip, everyone won’t be able to visualize it. Because Japan has many cities that are worth visiting. And Thai people often go to Japan, right? So, I will do a poll. Let ‘s see the 10 cities that people voted as the cities they want to go back to the most and like the most. Which cities are they? But we won’t count Tokyo and Osaka. I have to say that the votes are a lot. 5,240 votes. But wait a minute. We usually do a top 10 list, right? Actually, I secretly added number 11 because it’s an interesting city , since I’ve never been there. So, let’s start with number 11. Number 11 is a city called Ise. 136 people voted. They say that this city is famous. It’s famous for being the location of Ise Grand Shrine , the holiest and most important Shinto shrine in Japan. It’s considered the spiritual center of the Japanese people and has been a pilgrimage destination since ancient times. For example, there’s Okage Yokocho , an ancient street near the entrance to the inner shrine. They say it’s a street reminiscent of the Edo period. And there ‘s Meoto Iwa, a pair of rock formations located in Futami City , not far from Ise . If you take that route, you can easily visit it. And this is number 11. Number 10 is a city that many people should have heard of and know well. This is Beppu. It received 142 votes. Wow, this city is famous for its hot springs. It’s an onsen city. It’s the largest hot spring in Japan and with a daily flow of water , it’s been nicknamed the city of hot springs. But I must say, it’s not just the hot springs that we can soak in. There are red ponds and other kinds of ponds everywhere. And the reason I like Beppu is because of the giants . Sometimes people like to tell legends about giants, right? The ones that live in hot springs or something like that. You should go listen to comments on social media. From the JapanSalaryman page, many people have probably seen it. They said they lived there for 4 years, until it became almost like a second home. It’s a small town, but everything is perfect. It’s peaceful and impressive . This is just the opinion on social media. But for the tourist attractions, there’s Hell Pond or Jigoku, which is a natural hot spring that looks like hell. Some people might not want to go when they hear it, but in fact, it’s very beautiful. There are 8 ponds in total , and each pond has its own color and unique characteristics . There’s Beppu Rakutenchi amusement park, which is an old amusement park. There’s also the Umitamako Aquarium. And what I especially like about Beppu is when we go up the mountain and look back at the city, we’ll see smoke rising from the city all the time. It’s not from a fire , but from the hot springs. And this is number 10. Number 9 is one of the most popular cities , which is Nagoya. I have to say that Nagoya now has direct flights. Many airlines. It is considered the largest city in the Chubu region. It can be said to be the capital of Aichi Prefecture. It plays an important role in Japanese history, especially during the Sengoku period of civil war. Many people who read Japanese history will like this city. It is easy to get to. Actually, we can come to visit from Tokyo or Osaka by train as well. On social media, people say that the tourist attractions are beautiful, the city is lovely, easy to walk around, not crowded, lots of delicious food, cheap and affordable cost of living, and Nagoya Castle is one of the largest castles and also has historical significance in Japan. Most recently, we just went to Ghibli Park. This is the first theme park of Studio Ghibli , also located in Nagoya. We can go visit here. There is Atsuta Jingu Shrine , one of the most important Shinto shrines in Japan . There is also the Nagoya Science Museum, the largest planetarium in the world. And of course , Nagoya is also famous for its ninjas. If many people want to dress up as a ninja and watch a ninja show, Nagoya has them. And this is number 9. Number 8, let’s go up north a bit. This is Otaru City. 241 votes together. This is also a popular city for people who fly to Hokkaido. Some people land in Sapporo, right? Then they might drive or take the train to Otaru, which is a very romantic port city. Hokkaido is famous for the Otaru Canal. In winter, a lot of people go there to take pictures because it’s a canal, right? And behind it are warehouses that are covered in snow. There are retro architecture and a mix of Western influences. There are glass crafts, making it a popular destination for tourists, especially for day trips from Sapporo. But actually, I think this city is a nice place to sleep . That’s according to the opinions on social media. It’s very peaceful. The air, the food, the onsen, everything is great. Tourist attractions include the Otaru Canal, the red brick warehouses along the canal. They were used to store goods. They’ve now been renovated into restaurants and cafes , where you can sit and eat. Sakaimachi Street is Otaru’s main shopping street, full of shops. It’s worth visiting and the food is delicious. I’ve been there many times. And this is number 8. Number 7, you could say it’s a city, you could say it’s a prefecture, you could say it’s an island, because this is Okinawa. There were 268 votes in total. It’s an island in the south of Japan that combines Japanese, Chinese, and American influences, all in one prefecture. This place consists of 160 islands. They are called the Ryukyu Islands . And if the weather is tropical, many people like to go swimming in the sea, drive to see the view, go to cafes and things like that. I must say that it is a seaside resort that is ranked among the world’s top. Netizens’ opinions say that it is a relaxing, lovely , and nice place to take beautiful photos everywhere you go. You don’t need to plan much. It is perfect for letting go and enjoying life. The places to visit are the Churaumi Aquarium, which is the largest and most famous place to see aquatic animals in Japan. The highlight is the whale shark. Currently, there should be only one left, so if you want to see it, you should hurry. There is Shuri Castle , an ancient castle that was previously in the news for a fire. However, it has been extensively repaired. There is Kokusai-dori Street, a shopping area and entertainment center. Cape Manzamo is a sunset viewing point with a very beautiful view. There is the Mihama American Village, which also has an American fusion feel. Another city that I really like in Okinawa is Bise Village. This place is a small village. We cycled around, passing trees and various archways along the sea. It was really cute. And of course, Okinawa, something you must not miss is the food. This food is very unique from other cities in Japan. They call it an izakaya. They also have Okinawan folk music performances. You must see it. And this is Okinawa, number 7. Number 6, this is Nagano City. 313 votes, located in the Chubu region. It is a landlocked prefecture with abundant natural mountains. It is famous for sports and winter tourism, especially skiing. It is also a city known for its onsen and culture. Check out the comments on social media. They say that nature is beautiful in every season. There are many attractions. The food is delicious. It is quiet and unhurried. The people are lovely. I want to go every year. Where are the attractions? Let’s see. Zenkoji Temple is a temple with a history of more than 1,400 years. Jigokudani Monkey Park. Wow, this is a world-famous place. Kamikochi is not in the city, but it is a popular place to visit in that area. I must say that it is very good. There is Matsumoto Castle, one of the few original castles that is said to be the most intact in Japan. This is not far from Nagano. You can go there. Many people like it, so it was voted as number 6. Number 5 is Toyama, with 331 votes. This is a prefecture along the coast of the Sea of Japan in the Chubu region. It is famous as a beautiful castle town and the medical center of Japan. Social media comments say that this place has good weather, beautiful views , enjoy nature, simple, you can walk around all day, there are not many tourists , it feels like a city that is not developed but not crowded . There are tourist attractions such as the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which is a tourist route across the Japan Alps. In the north, which is about 90 kilometers long, there is Kurobe Gorge , one of the deepest valleys in Japan. There is Toyama Castle. This castle was rebuilt in the original style . There is Fukan Unga Kansui Koen, a park along the canal with a relaxed atmosphere. It is another city worth visiting. This is Toyama, number 5. Number 4 is Hakodate, which received a total of 402 votes. It is an important port city in the south of Hokkaido. It is a city that combines ancient history with modernity. Let’s take a look at the comments on social media first. They say it’s a quiet, small town that’s great for walking around and enjoying the romantic atmosphere. Their tourist attractions include Mount Hakodate, a world-famous viewpoint, especially for its nighttime views, which are said to be one of the top three night views in the world. There’s also Fort Goryokaku , a five-pointed star fort built during the Edo period. It was the first Western-style fortress in Japan. If you want to see the five-pointed star, you’ll have to view it from the sky. However, there seems to be a tower there, so you can climb up and see it, right? There’s the Motomachi district, an old district with a Western feel. It’s not very crowded either. This is number 4. Number 3 is Takayama, with 675 votes. Wow, that’s a lot of votes. This is another city that’s known as the Little Kyoto of Hida. This city is surrounded by the Japanese Alps. It’s still a unique city, standing out for its traditional architecture , as it’s well-preserved Edo-period structures . Social media comments say it’s a peaceful city with a cool breeze and delicious food. Let’s go see the sights. There is also the old town of Takayama, an old town with Edo-style architecture. There is Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine , the largest shrine in the city. There is Nakabashi Bridge, a red wooden bridge that is a symbol of the city. There is also Takayama Jinya, the former office of the local government during the Edo period. It is a city that is not difficult to travel to. It is easy to get to by train. And this is number 3. At number 2, we have actually found Kyoto. 781 votes. It is the ancient capital of Japan in the Kansai region. It is a city known as the center of Japanese culture, history , and art. It also has 17 historical sites registered as World Heritage Sites. Social media comments say that the place and nature are beautiful, complete with flavors, suitable for all ages. It is a city of culture, good atmosphere, and many places to visit. It is already famous, such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the Golden Temple, a Zen temple with the main building covered in gold. Or Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, which is a fox shrine. Many people have been there, there are called red torii gates lined up in a row. And of course, this is number 2 Kyoto. And now , number 1 is Fukuoka. 1,135 votes. I have to say that this is a port city of Japan. It has a relaxed atmosphere . It is the largest city in the Kyushu region and the fifth largest in Japan. Many people say that it has beautiful nature, easy to travel, has shopping areas, delicious food, but it is not very crowded. Social media comments say that this place has beautiful nature, delicious food, complete shopping, and a short trip from the airport. The people are lovely. The city is developed but not too big. Simple. As for tourist attractions, there is Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine , an important Shinto shrine that is popular with students. Sando Street is the road leading to the shrine. As I said, there are souvenirs for sale, local sweets, red bean mochi, and the like. Nanzoin Temple has a reclining Buddha. It is one of the largest bronze reclining Buddhas in the world. It is a bit outside the city, but it is truly beautiful. I recommend going to the seaside park. Momoshii. I have been there before, it is beautiful. Fukuoka Tower is the symbol of Fukuoka. The 234-meter-tall seaside tower. Simply put, if you want to enjoy nature, this place is easy to link to. If you want to enjoy shopping, this place is also available. If you want culture, it’s also good. And most importantly, there are fewer tourists and the price is cheaper. It’s not surprising why Fukuoka is ranked number 1. And all of this is the top 10 plus 1 of the cities in Japan that people voted as their favorite and most wanted to return to, excluding Tokyo and Osaka. Which cities have you been to?
