広島・尾道VLOG|島の絶景カフェへ。尾道で器と雑貨をめぐる夏|逃避行Vol.9

Step out of the house To the seaside town of Onomichi Riding along the Shimanami Kaido in
summer With a delicious galette A detached cafe with a spectacular view Explore pottery on the island and in the
backstreets Searching for treasures at the general
store A summer scene deeply engraved in my mind I’ll leave it in the video Escape
Onomichi It takes about an hour and a half by
train from Hiroshima Airport. Arriving at Onomichi Station Immediately, we took a ferry from
Onomichi Port to Mukojima. Mukojima is one of the islands in the
Seto Inland Sea and is the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido. After boarding, you’ll be rocked by the
waves for about 5 minutes… Arrival at Mukojima 1. Plain white Sohaku, a gallery and atelier nestled in
a corner of Mukojima Even on the way to the store, I feel an inorganic beauty where all
unnecessary things have been stripped away. Upon entering the store, you will be
immediately drawn into the world of the shop, where a simple yet sophisticated exhibition
space is lined with tableware and ornaments that reflect the owner’s
particular tastes. A little bit about the wonderful
encounters at Sohaku… Sohaku’s original blend coffee, created
in collaboration with Onomichi’s “Satie Coffee” This time’s purchases This place is like a place packed with
Japanese summer scenery. I decided to take the Mukojima circuit
course. It was a scorching hot day with
temperatures over 36°C. The echoing chirps of cicadas are the
background music for cycling. While being overwhelmed by the blue of
the sea, we headed to our next destination… 2. L e s D i x- S e p t B a t e a u x A hidden cafe with a detached house-like
atmosphere nestled at the edge of the island The place I wanted to visit most on this
trip to Onomichi The interior of the store is European
country style. It’s like stepping into the world of
Ghibli… Even the dishes and lunch mats are cute Apple cider ¥700 Today’s Galette (Salmon) ¥1,850 The salmon, zucchini and cream sauce are perfectly balanced. Fresh and not heavy at all, it’s truly an
“excellent galette.” Adding Setouchi lemon to the mix adds
even more freshness, I never got bored until the very end, and
I finished the whole plate in no time… This time I reserved a counter seat by
the window. Spending time looking at the beautiful
ocean and eating delicious food is the best reward for yourself. A precious moment when you can just stare
blankly, like when looking at a painting. It was a place with a quietness and
comfort that could only be experienced here. 3. Shimane Kaido The “Setouchi Shimanami Kaido” is a road
for automobiles that connects Onomichi City and Imabari City in Ehime
Prefecture. It is known as the “Mecca of Cycling.” The sea in Onomichi is clearer than you
would imagine. I couldn’t help but want to get off my
bike and touch the waves. I’ve been staying at home a lot lately,
so this was the first time I’d had the chance to be in nature in a while. But contrary
to my expectations, the experience was far more refreshing
than exhausting. Innoshima Bridge, located on the
Shimanami Kaido, connects Mukoshima and Innoshima When I looked under the bridge, the
sunlight was reflected on the waves, sparkling. When you stay at home all day, you end up
with a lot of worries, The time I spent moving my body in nature
and clearing my mind made me feel lighter. It was my first time here, but I want to
come back here again when my mind and heart are tired. A ferry ride back to Onomichi City Arrival in Onomichi City 4. Utensils and everyday tools by Calf A tableware and tool shop tucked away in
the backstreets of Onomichi “Karhu: Tableware and Living Tools” The entrance to the shop is just a step
into the old house, and the hidden feel is exciting. The store is filled with a wide range of
tableware and tools, from Scandinavian items to pottery from
all over Japan. The exhibition space for pottery is
divided into sections for each artist. It’s a luxurious time to see works that
you wouldn’t normally come across… A little about my encounters in Kalhu… In addition to tableware, the store also
offers a selection of unique and heartwarming products, making it truly a
treasure trove of attractive “everyday tools.” It was a place with many different faces
and where I could meet many different wonderful people. While regretting this once-in-a-lifetime
wonderful encounter, The final destination of this journey… Five, T A K A R A M O N O A vintage shop on the second floor of a
multi-tenant building near City Hall “TAKARAMONO” The interior of the store is a charming
space filled with playfulness, It’s like a stylish children’s room
overseas. There are many fun things to do, like
“What will this be used for?” I can’t help but pick it up Many of the items are priced between 300
and 1,200 yen, making them easy on the wallet. They also sell clothes, bags, and
accessories, all of which are full of unique items that you’ll never
see before in your life. This time’s purchases It was a place where I could relive my
childhood and get lost in my passion. Afterword A journey to an unknown city Touching things that fill your heart, Just stop and Empty your mind and jump into nature
without thinking about anything. A journey that opened my narrowed
horizons and lightened my heart End
