バック ポンド キャンプ VLOG 3、4、5 日目、(アディロンダック山脈) 北国、「3 日間の家族キャンプ」!
Hi everybody. Welcome back to the Aderondac Park. I’m here today at Buck Pond Public Campground and deuse area. We’re way up in North Country. Thanks for joining us today here in the Aderondex. Let’s go camping. Good morning everybody. Welcome back to Buck Pond in the Aderondex. Let’s see. It is oh about 23 minutes before 8:00 on day three. Today is Wednesday. I’ve been looking forward to Wednesday because this is the day that my wife and my dog come up to visit. They’re going to spend the rest of the weekend with us. I’ve been up for a while. I already had my first cup of coffee. I opened up all the windows on the tent cuz I mean it’s been raining like crazy and it’s just it’s damp. So, I want everything to dry out real nice. Flip on the little light. The setup here is working out very nicely. The kitchen table is holding all the food and camping equipment, coolers. Everything is working out real well. This is our power system that I just put together quickly. I had uh an old Honda battery that’s still good. So, I put that in here with a little adapter, a 12volt adapter, so I can plug in a 12vt plug or two USBs. I also have a a monitor here. Oops. That’ll monitor the system as it recharges. I also have a solar panel that’ll charge this battery up if the sun ever comes out. It’s been working real well. I’ve been recharging my portable batteries, my camera batteries, the lanterns all need to be charged every day. So, this works out real well. Frankly, one charge on this battery should cover the whole week, I would imagine. But the solar panel will help to maintain it. Today, I’ll get to use the bicycle. I’m hoping it’s not a bad park for bicycling. The roads aren’t too steep. There are some hills, but they’re just fun. They’re not too steep. Well, that’s our update for the morning. Had some wild turkeys digging through the camp early this morning. I heard them rattling things. I don’t know what they were looking for. It woke me up early. Everything’s holding together well. So, Sharon’s coming up today. She should be here by lunchtime. I’ll pull my truck over, let her pull her car in. Well, good morning everybody. Thanks for being here for day three. We’re going to get out on the boat today, I’m hoping. So, uh, stick around. Should be a beautiful day. If you’re new to the channel, don’t forget to like, comment, share, subscribe, do all the good stuff. We’ll see you soon. We’ll be right back. Good morning, everybody. It’s 9:00. I figured I’d have a little breakfast, make another egg sandwich today. And a cup of tea. I have to put pepper on my eggs while it’s cooking. or it’s just not good. Perfect. All right. Now, with the titanium, you want to really control the heat. You don’t want to go too fast. This metal is very thin. I like to keep it up off the flame until we’re ready for the turn. I like crispy edges, so water boils real fast on this stove. Te’s ready. Oh yeah, we’re ready. Okay. Crispy edges. Nice. That’s my perfectly fried egg. [Music] A little bit more. Oh yeah, that’s looking just right. Came out better than yesterday’s. I think that’s because I seasoned the pan yesterday. That’s what I probably should have done ahead of cooking. My mistake, but it’s seasoned now. Look at that. Very nice. Okay, that egg is finished. I’m going to leave it sit there while I pour my tea, which is just starting to bubble. Nice. That is one beautiful looking one egg on a roll. Fried. Very nice. Okay, I had coffee earlier. I’ll have a cup of tea now. Better for my stomach. Helps me to relax when camping. If I just drink coffee, I’ll get jittery, anxious. There’s our breakfast. Sorry about the poor lighting. My lantern ran out of GoGo juice. I had to charge it up. All right. Well, there is certainly nothing like an egg sandwich in front of the fireplace. No fire yet. Really no need for it. It’s quite warm out. All right, that’s our check-in. The time is 8 minutes after 9:00 on day three. Little breakfast. All right, sorry guys. It is 12 minutes after 10:00 in the morning. I meant to take the camera out before I did this. I just wanted to put up a little lean, too. It’s supposed to rain again Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. So, I figure this would give us some place to sit out of the rain and still see the fire if it’s not too bad, right? And it also gives us some privacy from the street. So, multi-purpose. You can also I put up some extra guidelines and I could use them to hang things to dry. I could also park my bike under here as well. which is another great thing. All right, that was a quick update again just after 10:00. I had a great egg sandwich for breakfast, nice cup of coffee. I’m working on a cup of tea right now. I’ve got the solar panel is chasing sunlight right now. It’s sunny, but I’m very much surrounded by trees. So, I’m grabbing what little light I can and help to support our battery, which is still pulling 12.5 volts. Charging everything up. I moved the stove from here to here. Now that it’s finally stopped raining, this would be our area to dine. I wanted to keep this area as our space. All the food’s over here. The garbage is over here. Everything makes sense to put cooking here and clean up here. That’s the new setup. Tidying up the camp before Sharon gets you. So, it looks pretty when she gets you. That’s what I’m up to. There’s some more sun. Let’s get it. There we go. Okay, everybody. We’re back in a little while. Back her right in here if you like. Tried to make as much room as I could. It’s a little tight. Hello, Bella. I put the ladder there so you can see where your edges. If that helps. Good girl. You guys made good time. Yeah. What time did you go? 5. Like 5:45. Nice. You’re really good. Oh, it’s my good girl. Okay, it’s a beautiful day today. Finally stopped raining. What a good girl. I know. I missed you. Missed you both. Just got to love Milwaukee products. This is a rechargeable fan that we’ve been using for camping in the RV in the summertime. Okay, it’s 4:29 on day three. I’ve been a bit distracted because my dog Bella, hello Bella, who’s my good girl, and was brought up here by my wife today and she’s joining us for some camping. So, I haven’t done an update in a while. We were just talking about making dinner. I think we’re going to go with a New York strip steak and some garlic flavored mashed potatoes. Uh, it’ll be the easiest thing for me to cook. It should be delish. Well, we’re hanging out here defending ourselves against the bugs cuz they’re they’ve been around because we had a couple of days of rain. That’s pretty much it. We took a dog we took the dog for a walk down to the boat launch to check it out. It’s real nice. We’re going to be going out early tomorrow morning on the canoe. So, for tonight, camp life, just what you ask for. We’re going to cook a steak and we’re going to have a nice campfire tonight and we’re just going to live the camp life. Since the sight tour is done, the camp is all set up. I can kick back, put my feet up and relax for a little while. We’re camping at Buck Pond way up in North Country in the Aderondac Park. Uh we’re on day three. These seem to be short and getting shorter because I got distracted and I didn’t do too much filming. So, I’ll try to get some more this evening. We’ll take another walk with Bella. I’ll actually take some pictures. Thanks for being here, everybody. I hope you’re enjoying the content. Uh, today’s a bit on the slow side. I spent the morning waiting for them to arrive and now I’m just enjoying their company. So, thank you for watching. If you’re new to the channel, please give us a big thumbs up. Don’t forget to leave a comment below and share with your friends. And of course, the best thing you could do to help the channel to grow is to please subscribe. 16 12 oz. Perfect. Very nice. Like kumai. Kumai. 750 milliliters. Okay. We’re making fetuccini. Hold on. Hold on. I lost my fetuccini. Here we go. Okay. I’m officially on vacation time right now. The site tour was done yesterday. Hey, today my wife came up with the dogs. So, I’m more just on vacation having fun right here. And we’re making dinner. It’s day 3. What time is it, Sh? It is 6:42. It’s 6:42 on day three. I don’t have an extra hand to show you my watch. So, I need a cup and a half of water and a half a cup of milk and some butter to go in there. So, if I have a cup and a half in there now, if I just bring it up to 16 with milk. Okay, a little bit of local moo juice and bring us up to 16 oz. Did you see me save the shot there? Was brilliant. Okay, that’s milk. All right, now we got to bring that up to a boil. I’m kind of afraid to put this pot on this crazy burner. Oh yeah, we’re going to need to do something about that. A bigger pot. Okay, so this is 16 ounces of water and milk. It’s a cup and a half of water and a half a cup of milk going in this pot. Almost poured that in my kettle. That would have been ugly. Okay, that’s done with the measuring cup. Very good. Come to work like a charm. Very good. I I bought this for my backpacking kit to make things lighter. I’m glad I did. And let’s put this on the stove. Yeah, that fits a lot better. Turn this to here and click. There we go. Let’s try to make this as small as I can. This is really hard with the stove. It wants to be a fighter jet and I want There we go. A Lear Jet. Okay, that’s going to take a little while because that milk is ice cold. And bring that to a boil. And then I add this. Again, I’m stumbling, guys. I’m on vacation now. Two days of work. Now I’m I’m hanging out in the campground. This is very relaxing. We have a cool fan. Check it out. I pou the house. Yum. Got that from our local Jeppes Market. And uh we’re cooking. We’ll be back. Don’t forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe. Where am I going to put you guys today? How about right here? Ah, it’s going to fall into the fire, though. We don’t want that. Let’s pop this on your back. Okay. Hey, that works. Uh, salt and pepper. The salt’s not too bad. The, uh, the garlic and the onion powder are rock solid. It’s been so humid here. All my spices are solid as a rock except for the salt and pepper so far. Oh my goodness. I just threw a whole lot of pepper on my steak. Get most of that off. Get some over on the fillet. Oh, this is going to be a half spicy shake. Let’s see how it looks on the other side. It’s only been on a couple of minutes. Yeah, look at that. Not too bad. Few minutes on this side and we’re ready to eat. It’s still a very hot fire. Even though I waited. That’s a porter house. It varies by the size of the fillet. It’s probably just about made it. If it’s any smaller than this, they call it a T-bone. Most of you probably know that already. It’s getting that fat. Okay, that’s going to be ready in no time. Yeah, few more minutes on that side. We will be right back. Okay, it’s bouncing back just right. I think we’re ready to pull it off. And maybe another minute. Let’s go check the side dishes. Fetachini Alfredo is still a little bit liquidy. It’s getting better. and the corn. It looks good. I just put a little bit of butter in there. And that’s it. All right, let’s go pull the steak off. I’m going to let this one settle for a while. There it is. Porter house steak out in the woods. There’s nothing better than that. Okay, we got some sweet kernel corn. That’s uh the piece of the New York strip. And that’s the bit of the fillet that I haven’t eaten yet. I almost forgot to turn the camera on. Did I tell you I’m on vacation right now? So, I might get a little forgetful. Forgive me. But that’s our dinner tonight. Going to pair that up with an Arizona green tea with honey. Outstanding. Good for the brain. Jins sing and honey. Okay. And I got that to gnaw on later. I’ll be fighting Bella for the rest of this. Actually, that’s that’s even more steak right there. We’ll get to it. Thanks for watching. I’m going to eat my supper now. Wait, wait, wait. I forgot to do the time check thing. I don’t have my glasses on. It is 7 7:18. We’ll work with that and see how accurate I was. Whoa. Very dizzy. Okay, we’ll be back with more vacation footage in the Aderondac Park, North Country. I think it just makes sense. It saves a lot of wood. Makes it a lot easier to start your evening fire with a couple of pieces of wood. This will last until midnight. At least it’s a good deal. It’s only a couple of bucks for the log. They’re easy to get here and I’m not going to be driving home and I could just sit back and enjoy the fire. It’s 7 minutes to 8:00 on day three. Just chilling by the campfire. Okay, we put the funny little color packet in. Let me see if I can balance the light for you a little bit. [Music] Also just there’s some green. That’s pretty neat. Ooh, just some campfire fun. It’s 7 minutes past 9:00 on day three. We’re getting close to our last vlog for the day. We’re going to be going to bed. Well, I say good night to you now. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe. You couldn’t see that. That was my thumb in all. Bye-bye for now. We’ll see you on the next one. Okay. Good morning, everybody. It’s just after 9:00, 97. We just finished breakfast. Haven’t done the dishes yet. Nice quiet morning. I didn’t spark up the camera too much. I just went and got some water from the spigot. And I bought I brought another gallon of the spigot water with me and I’m going to filter it for coffee water so we don’t have to keep using bottled water. Going to set this up. It won’t take long. Okay, breakfast dishes are done. Cut up a couple of oranges for some vitamin C. We’re getting ready to go out on the boat. I just filtered a gallon of water for coffee, tea with the MSR filter, and that’s it so far. It is 9:28 on day four. Wow, day four already. Jeez, goes so fast. We’ll see you down by the water. Okay, we just put in here at Buck Pond DC, the DC campground. All right, this is remote campsite number two we had the paddle to. Let’s go have a quick look at it. There’s another site on the other side of the island. If there’s a trail, I’ll walk over to it. Now, this is a campground campsite. You have to book it through Reserve America. It’s just like any of the other campsites except there’s probably a privy. Yeah, right up there there’s a privy and two nice tables. Metallic fire pit. Beautiful. Very, very beautiful location. Let’s see if there’s a trail going over to R1. Oh, look at the trail going up to the the bathroom. I don’t think I want to walk through the privy. What does it say? Do not feed. No, do not peel birches or the face of the trees. That’s that’s good. Yeah, there some beautiful birch trees here. But I’m not going to I’m not going to get all ticky just to go look at another site that looks very much like this. There’s two of them here. That’s what brings the total up to 116 sites. So R1 is on the other side of the island over there. This is remote or R2. A handicapped accessible table out here. I guess we can come out by boat, right? Yeah. Excellent. Very cool. Nice fire pit. Remote site number two at Buck Pond. What a gorgeous place. I mean, absolutely beautiful. It reminds me a lot of the St. Reges. We’re out in the double canoe paddling around. Think we’re going to head back and have some lunch and we are going back out on the water. All right. It’s a chicken sausage. Parsley and cheese. Good. Not too much fat like the pork ones. That’s what we’re having for dinner. Any bugs in here are officially notified. You’re doomed. Time to go. Woo, it’s hot. All right, they still want to cook a little more on the inside. They’re almost done. Another few minutes, but we can put them in the plate now, I think. Boy, that fire is hot. Holy mackerel. See, it’s 10 to 6 on day four. We’ll probably be ready with this in about 5 minutes. The buns are over by the table. Nope. I’ll bring the meat over. We’ll make sandwiches at the table. Thanks, everyone. Don’t forget to comment, like, share, and subscribe. Bon up. Okay, there’s a door flame. Let’s see if I can get it going. Okay, the time is uh 16 minutes after 7:00 on day four. It’s a Thursday night. went out on the canoe today for a little while. We got caught in a little bit of a storm. Had to paddle back in a hurry. Um had some lunch and we gave up on the idea going back out. It was we were tired so we brought everything home. Had a nice dinner. Sitting by the campfire right now. That’s pretty much the update. I’m getting tired. It’s been a very long day. We were up very early this morning. Hi everybody. We’re hiking up at Buck Pond in the Aderandex. It is 12 minutes after 11:00 on day five. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Yeah, day five. It is magical day five. Bella’s taking a hike with us. Sharon’s driving Bella. And this is Sharon just said it. This is the first photographic opportunity for us. Now, this is not Buck Pond, right? This is going to be How do we say this name of this lake again? Is it? Oh, Kashwa, I think. Uh, Kasakqua, right? Kisakqua. Kisakqua Lake. I You can All right. Here’s way you can make a lot of messages. Make fun of how I pronounce it. Kisaqua. Kisakqua. Kisaqua. All right. That’s the last time I’ll try to pronounce it. It’s Kisqua Lake because I see a motorboat on it. And you’re allowed motorboats on Kisqua Lake. It connects with Buck Pond over on that side. There’s a tunnel that you can paddle through. This is a trail that goes up and around the lake towards some dispersed camping. And that is what we’re up to. And since we stopped, the bugs have started to attack. We’re just going to take today a nice relaxing hike in the woods. It’s nice flat. I believe it intersects with a mountain road up ahead. And you walk along the edge of the the ponds, I guess you call them, or lakes, and there are dispersed camping sites along the way. This might even be one. Oh, this is a lake access point. Yeah, maybe we’ll let Bella dip her feet. That’ll be nice. Look how beautiful this path is. Shannon’s back there taking care of Bella right now again from day 5. It is almost a quarter after 11:00. We’ve had our breakfast. We’ve had a a big cup of tea and uh we’re on our way. I do have to make for a cup of coffee in my backpack and a MountainHouse lunch if we so require. But I usually don’t do too much eating when it’s hot like this. I have to cool off a while. Okay. Well, so from the edge of uh here we go again. Kishikqua Lake up in the Aderondac Mountains near Buck Pond. Um, thanks for being here. We’ll be back real soon at the next photo opportunity. Very cool. I’m on vacation here, so I might be a little bit off script, so deal with it. Talk to you later. Hey, 11:35ish, and we’re still hiking up the side of Kishaku Lake. And just Sharon and Bella are down there heading down the trail. It’s best to keep moving here. If you stop moving, the bugs start to follow you. So, just going to take a little breaks, show you what we’re seeing. Now, this boat you can use motorboats in. That’s why there’s a bit of a wake hitting the shore right now. There’s an old vintage wooden motorboat cruising around where every so often. Look how the water is crystal clear. I’m seeing fishes every once in a while. It looks deep, too, to be honest with you. I’ll find out here. I’ll put it up on the screen. Show you the depth of the lake. And if I have the topographical map of the lake, I’ll pop it in here, too. All right. Thanks everyone for watching. If you’re new to the channel, don’t forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe. Thanks for watching. We’ll be back real soon at the next photo opportunity. A mushrooms. Grab a bunch of these. Have them for dinner. We’ll be tripping by midnight. H some more. Okay. We hiked for about an hour. saw a couple of really beautiful spots for photos, so we did. The bugs are incredible, though. The second you stop moving, they start the swarm. We’re back at the trail heading back to the parking lot, and we’re going to go back to camp, get cleaned up. Right now, the time is 12:00 noon plus 2 minutes. So, 2 minutes afternoon, and uh really worked up a sweat on this one. So, we are going to get back. Any signs? Slow. How how could you go fast? Uh carry in carry out. Camping prohibited within 150 ft of road trail or water except the designated location. So yeah, you walk down this trail, you turn and take like 50 or so steps into the woods away from the water or the trail and you could just set up a hammock camp or a tent and uh spend the overnight. Why not? Plenty of room for you and the Sasquatch. No doubt. I didn’t see any Sasquatch. I did not see any Sasquatch. Oh, nothing. All right, back to camp we go. Hello everybody. It is 25 minutes past 6:00 on day five. That would make it Friday night. I’ve been here since Monday. And it’s beautiful. I’ve run out of charcoal. I’ve cooked a lot. Still have plenty of wood. And Bella’s right there. Hi, Bella. Come here, girl. Where’s my good girl? Huh? Come say hi to everybody. Bella, you’re so rude. Just checking in. This is camp life. Just sitting by the fire. We just finished eating a big turkey breast with some mashed potatoes and corn. Humidity is not too bad now. Temperatures dropping a little bit. What do you figure? High 70s now. 75. Yeah, more or less. It’s room temperature. Had a little bit of rain yesterday. Last night about this time wasn’t so bad. It was kind of nice. Took a hike today around Lake uh Kishakqua. It was very buggy. The bugs were all over Bella. She got to jump in the lake a couple of times. She likes that. Well, again, just checking in with everybody. It’s still early. It’s not even 6:30 yet. [Music]

Area Attractions
The Six Nations Indian Museum is found just outside the campground. The Adirondack Park Visitors Interpretive Center at Paul Smiths is 12 miles west. Lake Placid and the Olympic Venues are located 25 miles to the south.
Historic Interest
Construction of the campground began in July 1965 and the campground opened in 1968. The main campground road is constructed on the original roadbed of the Chateaugay Branch of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad.
Lake Kushaqua is a 380-acre (150 ha)[1] lake near Loon Lake and Rainbow Lake in the town of Franklin, New York state. It is on the North Branch of the Saranac River. The shoreline is state owned except for two small inholdings. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation operates a campground on Kushaqua and nearby Buck Pond.
It was the site of the Lake Kushaqua Hotel, built in 1893, which was one of the first hotels in the Adirondacks with electric lighting. It was accessible via the Chateaugay Railroad and the Adirondack Division of the New York Central Railroad, which passed the lake on either side.
In 1901, the Stony Wold Sanatorium was built on 1800 acres bordering the lake.
The rail bed of the Delaware and Hudson line runs along the eastern shore of the lake, past the Buck Pond campground, and that of the Adirondack Division of the New York Central Railroad runs along the western shore past the remaining buildings of Stony Wold: the chapel and two cottages on the lake shore. When it was built, the 1,200 acres (490 ha) sanatorium property included all of Lake Kushaqua and nearby Buck Pond, purchased in 1901 for $20,000. When the sanatorium closed in the 1950s, it was given to the White Fathers of Africa; they sold it to the state in 1970, after which the huge main building, laundry and power plant were destroyed.
From Adirondack Northway (1-87), Southbound: Exit 38, take Route 374 west to Route 3 junction. Route 3 right turn on Franklin County Road 60, 5.5 miles to Buck Pond.
Directions
From Adirondack Northway (I-87), Northbound: Exit 30, take Route 73 north to Lake Placid. Route 86 through Villages of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake to Gabriels. In Gabriels take Franklin County Road 60, 6 miles to Buck Pond.
