大都会から大自然を楽しむルート【日本一周バイク旅18～19日目 #vstrom1050xt
Day 18 of my Japan tour—today I’ve scheduled motorcycle maintenance in Osaka. Osaka Castle, one of the city’s major sights, is bustling with international tourists. Osaka truly boasts some magnificent architecture. The Expo 2025 site was still under construction at the time. Minatomachi River Place—looks like a UFO from the game Xevious! Twin towers rise stylishly over Nakanoshima. Wow! It’s a Hankyu train! Crossing the Yodo River at Juso Bridge and returning to the Juso area. I stayed at a love hotel in Juso (lol). Super convenient—covered parking included! Some Osaka buildings have highways running right through them—classic Osaka style! Hanshin Expressway is much smoother to drive than Tokyo’s Shuto Expressway. This bold red truss bridge is a symbol of Osaka’s port district. Early on a weekday, there was nobody at the biker hotspot—Michi-no-Eki Hari Terrace. Nara’s famous not only for temples but also for ancient burial mounds—rarely known to foreigners. I tried Kakinoha Sushi, a regional specialty of Nara and Osaka. Nara and Wakayama are home to Western Japan’s deepest forests. Forests cover over 76% of both prefectures! Local buses support life in these dramatic mountain regions. One of these buses runs Japan’s longest daily route! Riding through Osaka, Nara, and Wakayama—this route feels powerful. I’ve completely fallen for this journey. At last, reaching the Pacific in Wakayama—the sea where the mighty Kuroshio Current flows. That view reminded me of every moment I’ve had so far. Now, I sense the trip is halfway through.
2024年6月から7月にかけて行った日本一周の旅の18～19日目のダイジェスト。
旅を始めて4,500km走っていたので、大阪ではオイル交換などのメンテの予約を入れてました。バイク屋さんに持ち込む前にアンダーガードを脱着したかったので、大阪では屋根のある駐車場が完備されているラブホを拠点にした…という訳です。
しかし大阪は見ていて楽しい建造物が多いです。大阪城から始め、あべのハルカス、アーチ型水門、此花大橋、夢洲大橋、関西万博会場、湊町リバープレイス、中之島フェスティバルタワーなどを見て回ります。
翌日は大阪港湾部から奈良へ廻り、石舞台古墳を見てから、日本最長距離を走る路線バスと同じルートで十津川、熊野川を下ります。大都市大阪からたった一日で移動できるルートですが、古都奈良を通り西日本屈指の山岳森林地帯を抜け、熊野本宮大社、そして新宮市で太平洋に出て黒潮に出会うこのルートのダイナミックさは素晴らしく、まさに大都会から大自然を楽しむ旅にはお勧めです。
