トゥクトゥク事故再び! – スリランカで最も美しい町での大惨事
We are from England. No. Is it okay? Probably. It’s cultural appropriation. If they don’t let me in, taking our goods and then refusing entry. Chica. Uh, no. Are you joking? I’ve got one try at this. I’m going down towards the main road. Oh god. I’m going to try and jump. He’s pushing us in the main road. I don’t know the protocol for a cow being in the road. Holy moly. It looks like it’s about to charge. Does it? Good morning. It is quite nippy out here. We’ve got our airport clothes on. And this is dad’s little England. Look at this view. So nice. What’s the temperature like here? Warm. Warm. Yeah. Tea, of course. Sweet pancakes with coconut in. It is very windy here. And the man who owns this place said that the climate changes every 3 to 4 hours here. So today apparently very sunny but a bit windy. Normally it’s misty and rainfall is quite common here as well. So we’re lucky this morning. If you haven’t had these before, these are like sweet pancakes. They’re filled with coconut and like a I think like a coconut sugar. So delicious. I’m absolutely sweating. Look, I’ve got me hat done. I’ve got a pull and bear double thick jumper on. I’ve got these stupid trousers that we got in Thailand. I’m sweating. It’s 24°. She told me it was going to be like 6° up here. 24°. In my defense, it was quite nippy this morning and last night it was freezing. So, I got everyone out their jumpers and now we are absolutely boiling. But apparently it does get cold along the journey and we will be out later on. So I think we’ll be grateful of it. I actually think this weather is quite uncharacteristically hot. Apparently it’s normally misty and rainy. So maybe don’t take this as the norm. So we’re going to take you around, see what’s about this area. It is beautiful, but we will see how much it is actually like England because I don’t know about that so far. We’re going to take you out and about. We’re going to see what’s in the area. It is absolutely beautiful here. What is it? It’s a BMW M3, but it’s like 25 years old, 30 years old. It’s like a men in black car. We’ve still got no petrol. Lawrence has just seen there’s a petrol garage down the hill. It’s supposed to be called Little London or Little England. Um, but at the minute, I’ve got to say Sri Lanka one England north because this is stunning here. So, we’re about to get in the tuk tuk. Fingers crossed we are not going to run out of petrol. So, this will be fun for a laugh. We’re just about to go down the hill. Last night we had to get up and Lawrence had to push us up. So, neutral roll down around the corner. Careful of the uh M3 or whatever it’s called. Have a shot from the back. There’s an M3. Yeah, that’s lovely. [Music] [Music] Oh, come on. [Music] That might be the petrol. Yeah. [Music] It’s the choke. Your altitude is to show just to get more more air into the engine. It doesn’t even look like Steve, does it not? No. All the tuk tuk cut out six times going up there last night. We’re down. We’re down. We’re down. Be careful up here because mountain drivers are off their head. They’re absolutely crazy cuz they’re used to these windy roads when driving down cliff edges and whatnot. They literally overtake with this much room. kids. They’re crazy. They’re mad. So, just be careful. So, a quick shout out to something that has seriously simplified our traveling life. Safety Wing has just launched new Nomad travel insurance. My god, we just cut our last 15 times on the way to this petrol station here. Come on. Uh, no. Oh, you’re joking. No. Oh my god. Going to have to walk and go get some. He’s going to look at me and be like, “You all right, mate? You look like you’re you’re one of those people who feels bunkers in the garden. When’s the end of the world? It’s absolutely the other way from where we were going. Okay. So, I don’t think start this again. Boss, they normally got some [Music] Sri Lankans. They’re bloody brilliant. They’ve all got They’ve all got a bottle of vodka and a bottle of petrol on them. It smells like little smells like little. I hope he’s given me the right bottle. Okay, every last drop right give the man the money. [Music] Absolutely sweating. I need to get this jumper off. Thank you so much. Good to the man. Thank you. No, no, no, no, no. That’s for you. Thank you. Thank you very much for helping us out. Well done. Nines got to get this jumper off. Yeah, take it off. Was it the right kind of fedrol? Yeah. What I need to do is push it to go downhill slightly to jump it. [Music] Woo! He’s pushing us. That’s him walking. Right, we’ve got one try at this because I’m going down towards a main road. Oh gosh. I’m going to try and jump start it. [Music] He’s pushing us in the main road. Maybe it was filled. Oh, let me come down. Oh, hey. Thank you. The choke is up. Yeah, it’s up. Perfect. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. What’s this? Chocolate. Okay. Free chocolate. Remember tomorrow I’ll be back. How many minutes? Maybe two truck. How many minutes truck? Woohoo. We’re on the road. Well done. It’s going to be dark soon. Made it to the central station. There’s your first pub. First taste of England. Oh, I just felt a little breeze then. It’s cooling down. So, we’re just driving through a market in a shopping complex. Lots of restaurants. Loads of restaurants. It’s got to be a shop. Why to every attraction? Is there a a ramp that I’m going to embarrass myself trying to get up? Unnecessary. There we go. Oh, this looks really boring. I feel like we’re British. Foreigners go, “Oh, it’s a British post office.” I mean, there you go. Now, there’s a post office. You know, the one you’re at last Tuesday, there’s another one. So, this is the post office. To be fair, it looks way nicer than our post offices in England that are normally attached to a co-op. So, 2n Sri Lanka seems to be a holiday home as well, which is quite cool. [Music] I can confirm it’s a functioning post office and you can send telegraphs. Can’t do that in England. 3 Sri Lanka. That looks like an English park. Wow. [Music] Beautiful park. I’ve got to say it. It’s very wellkept. There are certain parks in England that are as well kept as that, but not many. So, I think it might be. Weirdly, the park actually looks English. I don’t know how because obviously everything’s very very tropical everywhere, but the park doesn’t look Sri Lankan. It’s got flowers and grass. Yeah, I think cuz it’s got flowers and grass and like the way it’s laid out and stuff, it looks like an English garden if that makes sense. We just went past the builder’s merchant and nobody shouted, “Oi, darling.” So, it’s not really like England at all that bit. Instead, they shine. Do it, darling. Come back here. Don’t give it. Come back here. Darling, I think cuz you actually stay there. Hello, brother. How you doing? We are from England. No. Is it probably Sorry. No. Oh, is it private property? Hold on. No visit. Is it not? I we what we want to do is just have a look so I can show my son some of the houses and then we’ll come back out. It’ll be very very quick. It would be really nice to see. It’s cultural appropriation if they don’t let me in. Taking our goods and then refuse an entry. Can I have chica? Hello sir. Hi. Hi. I just wondered if it would be possible for uh me to just have a look around. I wanted to show my son Little England because we’re English and I’ I’d quite like him just to see some of the houses. Would that be possible? Would we just be 2 minutes? 2 minutes. Okay. Thank you very much. Thank you. This is actually people’s homes. Normally, you can’t have a look in here because it’s private property, but we drove up to the gates. Lawrence chanced it. Um, we managed to speak to one of the owners. We somehow managed to get in, but normally you can’t come in and see this. So, have a look. So, this might actually be a good good time to say about the British and why they’ve got such influence here. In 1815 was the first time that they came here in this area. They’re actually at war with the rest of Sri Lanka. I don’t know if this was part of their route in over the mountains, but they ended up here and it was raining and it was cold and it reminded them of vainy old England. So the Brits then went on to do the battle and they remembered this place and they came back and they made this part their homes and obviously they like their own their own types of houses. Obviously, Sri Lankan houses are very different than the British than the British house, but they have got a real grasp of British houses. It’s bizarre. But all of the houses are a bit different. Um, you got like some with Juliet balconies and bungalows almost, and you’ve got some of the old houses that have got the old wooden like the the the TUDA replica houses. It’s uh really bizarre. But anyway, the Brits came from 1815 and they started the tea gardens and lots and lots of influence from from us Brits. It always is a bit of a justosition cuz it’s here they they brought with them, you know, their advancements, I guess, their education, their railway systems, their business, um, steel works and all the rest of it. But it really does leave a bad taste in your mouth because it wasn’t all pleasantries and they didn’t come over here to do the Sri Lankans a favor. They had their own vested interest. But it was the way of the world back then. I don’t it’s hard to wrap your head around it and you shouldn’t really uh in my opinion you shouldn’t judge something based on today. And I feel like that’s what too many people do. Um there’s no excuse for for theft. There’s no excuse for slavery. And it’s the British playbook in this part of the world. However, this is lovely to see as a as a Brit. Absolutely beautiful to see. They got the old lamp post there that would have been gas back in the day. And then even further, it would have been just candles. Absolutely stunning. They got the little the turrets there. Absolutely brilliant. Let’s go down there and see what what the houses are like down there. I’ve got to say, if this was a housed estate in England, this would be a very expensive place to live. I do feel like a lot of foreign people think that we all live in places like this. We absolutely don’t. I grew up on a housing estate. Yeah. These houses in England, if they were in the south, they would be like, you know, multi-million pound houses. So Sri Lanka, you might be 5 milling it here. I mean, I’ll give them 10 points for this. What they’ve got is they’ve got houses from different parts of England. So they’ve got like a TUDA house or a Tuda barn. They’ve got a Cotswwell stone house over here. Um, so they’re all like the different houses that you would see in England, like the chocolate box types houses, which is really cool. There’s even some pigeons over there. So, what we should say is I think there’s some guest houses here and there’s a hotel. So, I think if you did want to stay here, I think you can even stay here, which is quite cool. I mean, not very Sri Lankan. If you’re coming to Sri Lankan, you might as well stay in England. But probably quite cool if you’re from Sri Lanka. What’s funny is seeing the edge of the estate right next to the tea fields. [Music] [Applause] This road is treacherous. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Wow. [Music] So this is the famous moon plains. So it’s basically t t There’s a place here where you can see like six or seven areas of Sri Lanka all from one view. I mean it smells incredible. It smells like tea. Surprisingly enough, roads are bad. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Love you. [Music] You see the I mean, apart from this being the worst road that I’ve ever driven a tuk tuk on, this view is absolutely stunning. I think this is Gregory Lake. You can actually hire boats to go around the lake. And we’re just about to go and have a look at the um they’ve got a race course. Very British. They’ve got a race course here in New Orleia. Absolutely bizarre. This is stunning. Like to see you got your jumper back on now with it rain. I’ll tell you what. I’ll give you an update on that. It’s 22°. It’s gone down 2° and I didn’t catch that. Could you try again? No. Sri Lanka, you are doing it here. We drink the tea. You grow this beautiful quality tea that smells amazing on a beautiful hill. I mean, I know this is called Little England, but sorry, England, you’re not not doing too great so far. I think that’s 6 n Oh my gosh. Oh, slide. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. They say you Oh my god. I think this is the bit. Don’t come in your car. They take you in a jeep. Yeah. Yeah, that’ll do it. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my gosh. There was a bit that they told us that we had to get a jeep and I think this might be it. We gone down it by mistake. Get down there. You don’t think we’re going to be able to get down there? He’s done it through. Yes. What’s that? So, accidentally, we’ve actually done the Moon Planes tour, I think, in a tuk tuk. Wouldn’t recommend it. Absolutely. Get their jeeps. I apologize if that footage made you feel a bit queasy. That just smells absolutely insane. It just has the nicest aroma around here. Just so you can see the road that we just drove up. I mean, look at the craters in that. [Applause] Get in. Hey, this money. Hey. Otherwise, there’s a cow on the road. What do we do about this cow? I don’t know the protocol for a cow being in the road. It looks like it’s about to charge. Does he? Yeah. What do we do? Just slowly slowly slowly slowly evening. Evening Mrs. Mrs. Smith. Hello. Hi. [Music] Nothing screams England like a swan and a swan boat. That’s strawberry shrimp. Look, it’s a restaurant. Does everyone feel happy they’ve got their jumpers now? Yeah. Thank you, Molly, for telling us to wear a jumper. Also just got past someone who sells strawberries. This is mad. Yeah. [Music] One chance. And you’ll never guess where we’re going to go and eat in a pub. And you’re never going to guess how we’re going to get there. Up an hill. Wa. It’s a shark. Yeah, sharks. They’re just building a new temple up there on the hill. There’s a fun fair. This is getting really ridiculous now. I mean, I know England isn’t the only place to have fun fairs, but we are sort of known for them. [Music] Oh, that’s the entrance. Wow. There cinema. So, if it hasn’t gone British enough, we’re about to go in the pub. But stick around because after the path, after we’ve slept, we’re going to go to the two most popular waterfalls and a couple of the viewpoints that can’t be missed apparently. Sounds really exciting. Wow, this is actually like a bit of England. Great. It’s no different. Yeah, before the smoking bad. It does smell smoky in here though, but I’m not sure if it is smoke or not. Is this the most spoken? Yeah. How does it compare to an English club? Said all the usual lion beer, Carlsburg, Guinness, Wild Apple. What about the food? Food’s pretty much like any restaurant you get. Like you uh no beer for me. Just uh Coke. Would you like that? Um, Sprite burgers and then So to be extra authentic here, I’m going to order a club sandwich. See how it goes down. Oh, lovely. They do also do fish and chips with tartar sauce. I just don’t really fancy it at the minute, but I just I don’t know. That might be one step too far for me. So, club sandwich is little beef. Yeah, the chips like nice sauce. Good. How’s the spring? Wow. Got some tomatoes. Take them out. I can take them off. These potatoes are so slippery and so This is local. It’s got pineapple in there. So chili roll. It does actually sound really good. The base is really thick. Yeah, that’s pretty good. Look at that strange. Good job. That was good. Yeah. Yeah. Is it just on the bumps? That’s it. Daddy help you so it doesn’t fall apart. I know. Good job. Wa. How is it now? Yeah. It’s good. Different to an English one, cheese, onion, lettuce, I think. Chicken and carrot, egg, and bacon or ham and stuff. So, we just got the bill is equivalent of about £15 for all that. So way cheaper than England. That would have been one big no package. I have got to say triangles. And I don’t expect you to win this one cuz this is what this is kind of what we’re kind of what we’re known for. This is our gig. This is our gig. But we do win this one. And I wouldn’t expect you to win this one. It is very much like over. It is very much over. Um, so I don’t know what number it is now, but it’s like 121. So you’re still winning.

The English housing estate actual houses were built by an English Builder. He was brought down by the owner of the estate to build the English style Houses, not long ago! 😊
Welcome to Srilanka.
We were there last Month and asked the Security Officer to allow us and they did without any Fuss
We are originally Srilankan Tamils and now UK Citizen.
The LITTLE England is like Typical English area indeed.
The LITTLE England homes R around few Millions of Srilankan Rupees.
The Roads R very dangerous indeed and some Crazy TUK TUK drivers driving Mad indeed
Always carry 1 litre of mixed Petrol as a backup in case you run on RESERVE.. Ask the Tuktuk Office to change your tuk tuk or ignore if the cold weather cause tuktuk starting issues.. always stop and consult another tuktuk for free advice or for Rs.200/ to 1000/- for any tech help he do 4u..
Srilankan
Tea is NICE drink but the Racist Srilankan Government and Private TEA estates have been ABUSING the TEA estates workers- Mostly WONEN workers- by NOT Paying them enough wages and forcing them to DO MORE work for less money, NO Sick or Holiday payments, NOT even have Break facilities like TOILETS or refreshments area for the poor women.
The 99% of TEA estates workers- are Tamil Women whose forefathers were brought from Tamilnadu(South India) by the British rulers few hundred years ago.
When driving dont turn your head too many times to look backseat (fix a long 8" mirror inside) or risk all your lives within amatter of a second…😢
❤
Are you still in Nuwara eliya? If so visit the grand hotel. They have wonderful hightea. Also the golf club. It would be fun
That’s not a real M3 bud
😍😍
You 2 (3) have an amazing vlog…. You are so funny and humble on the same time… 🥰👌
How are the laws of drones? I saw vloggers lose the drone when they enter the country. Because it isn't allowed in Sri Lanka…
I don't know if it is true. Because I have seen many vloggers using drones at the same time…
If they take the drone – yah, it's a lot of money you never get back.. Sorry, my English is not good… 😅
Hello from Gotland 🤗
Dear brother, thank you for visiting my home country. Good luck to you & your lovely family.
You know the funny thing I live in uk now and I find it hard to find quality Sri Lankan products like good tea and main spices like cinnamon in almost every supermarket in uk they all switched to the cheap stuff to save some bug. Although many brits think they get good products at Britain but it’s not actually true for an example lots of brits think most cinnamon used in uk comes from Sri Lanka where the world best quality cinnamon are from but majority of cinnamon now used in uk are cheap alternatives called cassia and same with tea. It’s very hard find good Ceylon tea for good price. I still ask my ma to send me tea from home because sad to say many tea here are just garbage tea
You guys just didn't think far enough and fill the tank before you went up a hill. Seems more like a you accident than a tuktuk accident innit.
Be careful 11:53
That tuktuk is getting some abuse 😀
Glad to see you guys are enjoying a lot of lovey places
20:45 not moon plains. Moon plains hire jeeps for visitors… The road is similar though. They keep it like that just to get jeeps hired by tourists and for the thrilling experience.
that's the most expensive petrol. . .
oh u did the indian accent for "come back here daRRRLingg" ..Foul lol
Fantastic Video Enjoy Your Stay God Bless From Colombo Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤
Srilanka amazing country. Come to srilanka
🇱🇰💚💚💚💜💜💚🇲🇫
she is like actress💝
The town was originally built by homesick British tea planters in the early 1800s as a mini England to remind them of home. There was no air travel then and a journey home took many months. I think it’s rather odd they made it a “little England” when most of the planters were Scottish I believe. Anyhow it retains the original style even today. Before we left Sri Lanka, my parents used to take us kids there at least one a year and walking in the park and surrounds as well as the fantastic and panoramic “Lord of the Rings” type views are lasting memories.
Cannot wait for the next video.
