[高知vlog] 静かな午後、中土佐町を歩く

We came to walk around Kure, a town in Nakatosa, Kochi Prefecture. First, we climb the No.1 evacuation tower, also known as “Junpei Tower.” People relaxing on the beach, anchored fishing boats, and the shimmering ocean—what a panoramic view of the Pacific. Next, we’re heading to the famous Kure Taisho Market. This Taisho market has over 100 years of history. Along this 40-meter alley, you’ll find fresh fish and fruit shops lining the street. We’re having seafood rice bowls at Yamamoto Fish Shop. After eating, we walk around the area near the market. We started craving a cold drink and a sweet snack. So we took a break at Kokuya, a traditional-style café. Inside, the best seats were on a raised tatami area.
We were lucky to get one! A beautiful garden, well maintained, filled with greenery and shadows. We recharge with some warabi mochi and café au lait. We resume our walk through the town of Kure. On our way, we discovered a lovely shrine. It was Kure Hachimangu Shrine. The rustling leaves and the breeze created a peaceful moment. It was just us—such a calm and quiet afternoon. Locals visit the shrine to pray for big catches, good harvests, and even victory in competitions. We tried the “Yakunuke Stone” challenge. We crawled through the stone hole headfirst and prayed to the sacred tree success! On the way, we met Shima-chan, a local cat. Look for her when walking around Kure 🐱 We stroll back along the beach we saw from Junpei Tower. Finally, we stopped by the “Nakatosa Roadside Station.” They sell not only local products but also unique items 🐟 Drinking yuzu honey soda, we reflect on our day in Kure. Time flowed slowly in this charming fishing town. Thank you for watching. I hope you’ll look forward to the next journey!

「高知のどこかで、忘れていた静けさをおもいだす。」

“Somewhere in Kochi, we rediscovered a silence we’d left behind.”
