A Lifetime Of Experience in a Day 🇮🇳 Forest People ❤️ Sugar Cane Fields | Monkey Hotel

[Music] now we set off this morning
and we rode through miles and miles of beautiful forest or jungle I don’t
know what you might call it absolutely incredible I’ve never seen such
a vast forest in my entire life and now we’ve come out onto this uh flatter
farming area get there and uh it’s wonderful to see it’s very much uh Hands-On farming the
people in the fields um they’re working you know in flip-flop some of them we saw a tractor and a
trailer tipped up in the ditch and everyone’s come out to help and it’s just spectacular everywhere
we go it’s so beautiful yeah I don’t know whether uh the local kids go to school even um where
we first stayed there’s quite a few kids around in the daytime and um then obviously there’s the
school kids in the uniforms that uh I don’t know whether it’s a private school system here or state
school system I don’t know someone tell us um but the school kids that do go to school are so mully
dressed it’s wonderful to see it’s just honestly this country is so fascinating every everything
I see I’m just in awe of yeah literally everybody wears flip-flops here um I’ve only come with a
big Hefty pair of boots and uh when we go out after riding it look like a right plonker with a
big heavy pair of boots on and some shorts um and I went to get some slip flippers or thongs and uh
in a shop and basically just trying to rip me off charge ridiculous price so I said no but I do need
some so I’m going to try and find some I think when you get off the tourist Trail and you’re in
the little Villages where they have shops they they’re not going to rip you off this is really
how farming used to be in the UK um probably in the 1940s 50s maybe um before that but now it’s so
highly mechanized um here it’s handson everyone’s doing it that’s what Villages were in England you
know everyone would to have a job on the farm now it’s just commuters it’s different world so it’s
like going back in time in some senses it’s um a bit dust and we face maskday I find if you’re
friendly to people then they’re usually friendly back so that’s my starting point anyway you’re
going to be an [ __ ] back then you got a problem oh look at that Temple holy
I don’t know holy what that’s amazing oh man it’s so good so I don’t think the children are
going to school here cuz they’re all out and about hello they’re so friendly loveliest people on
earth I mean that I’m not just saying I mean [Music] it hello everybody hello oh this is fabulous what a town
look at this place it’s so full of character all these uh people just do what
they do and they’re not bound by all the health and safety and the nanny State nonsense
that we have in the UK you know do what you think you’re going to do look she’s cleaning
weeding the streets by hand not with flipping sprays I love this thing that Indian people do
when they just going to wiggle their head uh I’m sarting to do that now it’s a good thing I’m
going to carry that on little market here people selling their stuff look old Store look at this
look hello it’s like going back in time isn’t it in a good way let keep emphasizing that
because it’s not bad it’s fantastic God there’s markets everywhere and the
produce that they’re selling twist around is beautiful the bananas out here
are absolutely delicious they’re um wow coconuts I like the trucks they’ve got a lot of Tata Tata trucks they look cool
too big company in India isn’t it busy town I’ve don’t know where
we are I’ll find out I’ll tell you that guy’s uh selling nuts he’s got a
big bag of nuts on his scooter to bring to Market that’s the thing here you do what
you like if you want to put a plank of wood on your scooter and a family you do it
and England you’d be lucky to uh take a bag of fish and chips if you get pulled
up speak to Dary you’re right didly yeah to stop on there yeah it just says
cancel you have to hold it it says cancel recording we should say say stop should St
the recording St never done that before Oh really they carry stuff on the heads a
lot here you see in the picture look at that tractor look I don’t know what’s on
it sugar cane or bamboo I don’t know oh my goodness everything I look at I’m fascinated
by we’ve just stopped in this incredible rural town and it’s there’s nothing like it on the
planet there really isn’t it is just hello it’s just incredible the people are so interesting
they’re lovely they’re waving at you when you go past unbelievable we went down this really tight
Street uh sort of Market Street and it is just unreal so I think we’re in for a real treat today
so we just stopped here to have a chai and then the next part of the journey we’re going to be
riding Offroad for quite a long time uh to the next amazing place so our destination tonight
is incredible uh but but this is just a dream this place so if you want to experience this
very same thing just come and book yourself on Vintage rides Southern India tour because
you won’t regret a single penny of it I can tell you yeah and this is nice we got a chy
very sweet hotti yeah it quite chilly going through the first part wasn’t it yeah it’s
starting to BL up now yeah I feel just right just letting air through this jacket yeah it
is actually f with that Lorry really [Music] I’ve been riding through this uh
Forest now for about half an hour and we just come across this herd of uh
cows having a fight look at that isn’t that absolutely wonderful and they’re
so beautiful oh look at this I have to stop sorry baby hello sweetheart Hello
darling adore cows absolutely adore them I’m in the right place aren’t I Namaste so we’re doing this trail
ride through this uh um forest and uh see these bikes can handle everything can’t they I would rather be doing this on the
classic 350 than a lot of other bikes it’s just got the right sort of engine
for it just plugs along and that’s what you want all the torque L low down and very
easy handling got the right tires for it of [Music] course right we just yeah we’re just taking uh detour oh not detour we’re just taken a route
off road and uh going through some water and it’s all uh trail riding here which I’m used to
now we’ve just uh stopped off halfway through this uh massive Forest I’m going to have
to stop and say hello this people [Music] oh must look scary [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Applause] [Music] we’ve just stopped off at this Temple and more
of a fortress is it Fortress Yeah Yeah Yeah right and I just noticed these two pigs I hope they
don’t come and eat us but snaps yeah hello Piggy hello Mr Pig hello Pig oh maybe not oh there we go seen another so much wildlife
in India everywhere to uh English oh my goodness yeah yeah we’ve just ridden a very long journey
through uh sort of a flatland farming land area um quite a stint wasn’t it yeah my back is
killing so we’re going to have lunch just 15 minute ride and we’re going for lunch so see
you there where are you from England England yeah YouTube ch Mr Dy and the old man see you later I just stopped for lunch at this uh little
place and the prices are unbelievable you’ve got um chicken dishes look chicken chicken tally
15 chicken masala 140 I think my glasses I me that’s about that’s equivalent to about1 £125 or
so for a main dish look at the prices in England now so that’s amazing so just quickly show
outside this is a very much a farming area got the bikes parked up here outside and by the
roadside they’ve got the maze that’s wheet corn drying by the side on the main road and uh
they’re just sorting out manually by hand and uh got these little I don’t
know if they call them Tuk tucks here see them everywhere they’re great
and uh everyone’s working on the land so everyone’s it’s hands on here whereas in
England one tractor does you know 500 Acres so you know if you think about it it’s actually
better to have hands- on give people jobs and that’s how it used to be in England until
um the Revolution and you know we used to have uh horses working the land here they’ve got
massive oxen I think they’re oxen or water buffalo I don’t know what they are beautiful things if I
can find one when we’re not riding I’ll stop and film it uh but they still plow the land with them
they still collect things with them and that is wonderful that’s the way it should be that’s
sustainable not what not how we do it in the Western World this is sustainable small farms
everyone hands on they’ve got these little uh Huts for want of a better work where people can
come and eat privately it’s nice isn’t it [Music] [Music] [Music] dar’s getting ideas she’s so cute we just come up this
beautiful mountain pass um and we stopped here because there’s this huge statue it’s absolutely
massive it’s the biggest statue I’ve ever seen in my life but what an incredible thing I mean
you could see this for miles and miles across the whole valley it’s absolutely sunny I must
be a religious I’m sorry we’re very ignorant we don’t know um but it’s wonderful isn’t it
I keep saying wonderful well yeah everything is wonderful wonderful but yeah we just popped
off here and then we’re off offroading minute aren’t we and then we’re ending up in uh badam
yes yes all right let’s go so see you there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] that all these people are so friendly
I think it’s good to wave as well because we’re going through their town
aren we so respectful I can’t tell you where it is cuz I don’t know but
it’s like nothing in our country hello yeah the kids are so
friendly here everybody’s friendly we go got Ginger beards here
I don’t know what the significance is I mean they obviously colored with
something so tell us what that is please right here goes Mayhem this is
proper India I got to remember to do the right head nod I keep going up and down like yeah going to go for it God
is it busy wow there the other guys we the wrong way oh this is what you call hustle and ble
but like I said if this was the UK and you were riding or driving you’d all be crashing
into each other because we’re worrying about what the speed is here look they’re going on
the wrong side of the road nobody’s crashing cuz everybody is looking where they’re going
so you look where you’re going you don’t crash you’re worried about the speedometer
you’re looking down all the time you have a problem so this is the way to do it
i’ got to catch up the others now but some overtaking so if you’re hooted in England
you someone punch you completely normal here see so we got to keep
with the group you see hello hello hello people are lovely fascinating every time it’s fascinating
so we’re riding through someone’s Village it’s very rural here I mean it’s it’s endless
rural areas I mean so much bigger than we have back home in the UK and like I said
everyone’s hands on it’s a completely a community thing here which is lovely
to see now look at this we’re riding Offroad see this is local people right all
happy to see is all doing half Namaste waving and really friendly in the UK If you drive
off road or ride off road people hate it the Walkers will moan at you block the path
a lot of the farmers don’t like it a lot of them don’t mind but it’s a different attitude
isn’t it completely different attitude over here through [Music] everything there’s a farmer
smiling us we got his musical really loud [Music] thank you very much smells lovely
smells quite [Music] lemony [Music] wow oh so sweet amazing what’s the taste like very
nice sugar really is it okay oh [Music] yeah it’s like a rock of candy [Music] [Music] hey all if you can hear that in the background
trains in India are amazing I hate trains normally but look at this you can see it coming turn the
camera around a second I can’t see it behind the [Music] trees yeah we stopped
off in another little village which is uh ever so nice um it’s
just so interesting I keep saying interesting I think I’m just going
to have to think of another word we’ve just arrived at badamy and look what’s on
the roof look monkeys Little Monkeys everywhere I mean it’s high up too that’s something you don’t
see every day isn’t it that’s so cute play with brother quick room two single bear little
desk wardrobe blah blah blah bathroom and a shower that’ll do very nicely okay we’re going
to have dinner and that’s today pretty much over we’re going to walk around the town tonight
we’ll probably film something but um let’s call it an end today and uh tomorrow is going to
be oh my God oh my God it’s going to Monkey my God monkey oh my God that’s why they don’t
let you open the windows no cuz they would come in and they would think your stuff yeah
they would wow look at that H monkey that is incredible oh my God look at it what a fascinating creature it right we need a shower
we’re covered in dust so over now [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

In todays travel vlog, we leave the Western Ghats and discover another side to India’s roads in Karnataka, and encounter some off road riding on the Royal Enfield Classic 350; you will be surprised what this motorcycle can do! After leaving Dandeli, a challenging ride through the forest in south India, with a group of motorcycle riders, all on Royal Enfield Classic 350’s, we stumbled upon a hidden community lost in time!, who live in a beautiful hidden village made from logs and sticks, in a large forest. The people were just so lovely. We were enchanted, and so impressed by the way they live. They were equally mesmerised by us, and we enjoyed their fascination.

The reactions by us and the Indian people in this motorcycle travel video are magical.

We then continue on a long motorcycle ride through the countryside, looking at rural life in India, and ride through a number of towns and villages, looking at fruit and vegetables on market stalls in passing. We ride through a large town and at a busy junction, lose the rest of the group as we inadvertently take the wrong route.

We stop off for a delicious and very inexpensive lunch in a typical Indian farmers community cafe, this one the go-to place to eat for the local farming community. We explore places that are off the usual tourist trail, and see the real India. We get our first glimpse of the magnificent white cows/ox, that are used by the farmers to pull carts and plough the fields.

We ride on, off-road, and stop at a field where farmers are cutting sugar cane. On of the farmers cuts us of a piece to try! It was delicious!

Then on through more breathtaking scenery to reach today’s resting point in the town of Badami, temples, carved into the mountains many centuries ago. When we open the curtains of our hotel window, we are confronted by a family of monkeys outside our window! We explore the town later and are amazed to see wild boar roaming the streets!

  1. absolutely brilliant video! even after few days all the different snapshots are still fresh and pop in to my mind as I go about my day, and it feels as though I'm doing this trip as well. really liked the length of the shots included and the time taken/spent in them, which is unlike other travel vlogs and doesn't feel like a report of what is done with hurried footage to go along with it.

and the landscape in India especially the south where you guys are riding motorcycles through is just amazing! you guys covered city, highway, countryside, farmland, trail riding, freshest sugarcane, forest, wildlife, agriculture cultivation and harvest, school kids, food and high fives – all in one day of motorcycling! incredible!

  2. Forget comparing with your country for a while and look at your whole new experience as a virgin view. You will appreciate a meaningful world passing by. Have a good time. Your new subscriber.

  3. Great video. I don't think that speed limits are anything to do with the reason that driving with the flow like in India wouldn't work in the UK. It's because the British mentality is about owning your bit of road & getting angry if anyone dares to encroach on it. There'd be fist fights everywhere 😅. I lived in Thailand for 3yrs and driving was much the same as in India, maybe a bit less extreme. The traffic lights in town regularly broke but it made zero difference to the traffic because people just flowed around each other as you describe in India. I rode a 125 Kawasaki when I was there & loved it. You guys are giving me itchy feet!

  4. people call India a super power, I dont know why, my country has lot of poverty, except for oligarchs like ambani and adani, 10 percent rich people, rest of the India is poor and filthy, backwards

  5. If subcontinental people learnt some cleanliness and keeping their countries free of trash everywhere it would be so much better…..

  6. One thing says after, a birth of Christianity and islam people of many countries forgotten creativity .only Hindus continued creativity in assuming God and goddesses in many forms,or types, types, pl visit Ajanta, Ellora, many temples in Tamil Nadu, karnataka state

  7. Good to see the tribal villages at the periphery of the forests (9:45) which are rarely visited by outsiders. Often, they have distinct cultural and economic practices as compared to their nearby rural small towns. The latter are into farming while the former are more tied to the forest land (8:35).

  8. We love India great video the people re wonderful and something to see every inch of the trip. We are back next week to Goa for 5 weeks on a royal enfield can’t wait

  9. 10:46 I waved bye at the screen when the kids waved 🙋‍♂️ 😂 You guys are probably as much of a curiosity for them as they are to you! Bet you will feature in their conversation for days on end.

  10. My parents are from Banglore. They lived in british rule. I have never been i am 58. You guys made me feel what a nice place. Thanks guys. I have subscribed

  11. Brilliant, video collection. One of the reasons why I got a classic 350 Signals. Its being happy with what you have and what you can do with it. We spent a few months here a long while a go now but we rode in similar areas with a tour group. We never said, oh this bike is gutless, it's just not got enough clearance, a TFT screen, or all them thing they say you need to have. Nobody got speeding tickets, in fact we mostly did slow speeds. The guide said something that has stuck with us, "you need to stop drinking the promo cool aid, ride what you can afford and ride it often with friends and wave and be nice to everyone. What's vibe you put out matters. We ride on country roads, and fire trails sometimes next to farming estates, now we are wearing brown leather jackets open face helmets goggles and doing 10 km at best, we wave to walkers, we chat to horse riders, we natter to farmers. They really like us. It's not just a retro bike its back to basic old school people skills and communication. The term Ready to Race, puts you in that mode, where you think heck I'm in the Dakar, and when your tearing it up, on these backroads speed by the locals they get concerned. Will he have an accident, hit some one or something. Side comment I kept having Led Zeppelin & Doors music flash backs during this. But again Well done Best thing ever you have done.

  12. Have you two ever thought about focusing your channel on doing travel videos, you're both naturals. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of this video thank you and greetings from Australia.

  13. My other half doesn’t ride but comes along pillion quite often and enjoys bikes in general.

Incidentally, yours and Freddie’s channels are the only ones she’ll sit down and watch with me.

I think it’s because you guys do a great job of mixing riding footage and cinematic shots, and don’t make it too ‘blokey’.

She also can’t stand sports bikes or modern ADVs either so that’s probably another factor 😅
