Prices for ski tickets keep getting higher in Myoko with the popularity of skiing in Japan. The local community wants to do something about it to continue to enjoy snow sports!

Many of my neighbors said that they could only ski once or twice last season yet they keep the town going through hard work.

Thank you for the support so far! It’s great to see we already have over 1500 signatures that we will present to our local government for awareness and hopefully leading to some changes!

  1. It’s getting that way because of big companies are building resorts and hotels so they can make big profits. Japan is a beautiful country and they need to protect their beautiful country. Chinese businesses are buying up the land and charging more than what locals can afford. If they are a small resort catering to locals would be better.

  2. I’m in Hokkaido and some of the resorts are massive and one resort stop and it’s owned by Chinese company. I found out they stopped the construction and skipped out of town with out finishing up and not paying the construction company that started the work.

  3. Not just Japan.. it’s expensive everywhere.. at least Japanese resorts haven’t been taken over by multinationals yet

  4. Yes! Vacation towns should always have locals discount Inlive in mountains and we can’t go to the lake because too expensive for tourists we pay the same.

  5. Skiing in Japan is ridiculously cheap. Compared to anywhere else on earth.
I took the family to moiwa.
Kids lift tickets were 600¥ in Australia $100
There are so many closed resorts that they can now reopen
