We would like to introduce you to the top 15 sightseeing spots in Osaka. In this video, you can learn more about the highlights and popular spots. I want to go to Osaka, but I don’t really know where or what to find. For those who say. So that you can know more about Osaka. We will introduce popular spots by area. Once you know a little about the Osaka area, you can easily go to the places you want to go. I think you will be able to travel more efficiently. Introducing popular items. I would be happy if I could help make your trip to Osaka even more enjoyable and fulfilling. There are 6 areas. The northern area is centered around Umeda and Osaka Station. A trendy area lined with commercial facilities and skyscrapers. The Osaka Castle area is a fusion of nature and historical buildings centered around Osaka Castle. The south area is the center of gourmet shopping and entertainment, centered around Dotonbori. The Tennoji area includes Abeno Harukas, Tsutenkaku, Tennoji Zoo, and Shitennoji. The Bay Area is a treasure trove of coastal entertainment such as USJ and Kaiyukan. Finally, in the Expo Commemorative Park area, you can enjoy leisure activities at Expo City, centered around the Tower of the Sun. We will introduce the areas in order starting from the northern area, which is closest to Osaka Station. In the north area is the Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory. Access: Approximately 10 minutes walk from Osaka Station Central Exit. Umeda Sky Building is a skyscraper with a futuristic design that towers over Osaka’s Kita Ward. The Floating Garden Observation Deck, located on the top floor, is a scenic spot that represents Osaka. The building’s unique arch structure and observation deck at a height of 173 meters above ground are the highlights. Enter from the 1st floor entrance of Tower West and take the escalator to the 3rd floor. Take the elevator from the 3rd floor and enjoy the view as you ascend to the 35th floor, 140m above ground. From here, take the aerial escalator to the observation deck and enjoy the thrill of looking down on the city of Umeda. The escalator takes you to the 39th floor, which has an indoor view. It’s free up to this point. Purchase tickets on this floor. The price is 2000 yen for adults. Finally, we introduce some great deals that include admission fees to various tourist attractions. Arrived at the 40th floor observation floor. Regardless of the weather, you can comfortably enjoy the scenery in the glass-enclosed indoor observation area. There is a cafe on the floor where you can relax and enjoy the view while enjoying a drink. And finally, the outdoor observation floor Floating Garden Observation Deck. With no ceiling, you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the sky. This is the west direction. The river in the foreground is the Yodo River, a first-class river that represents Osaka. The town of Kobe can be seen faintly in the distance. If the weather is nice, you can see all the way to Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. This is a group of skyscrapers in Nishi-Umeda on the south side. Dusk is the most beautiful time of the day, as the city lights begin to shine all at once. In the basement, there is a retro restaurant street called Takimi Koji that recreates the Showa era. Enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere and delicious food. We recommend the okonomiyaki “Giji”, which had the first line in the basement on this day. Next, I will introduce the southern area. The south area is a symbol of Osaka’s bustling life, with gourmet shopping and entertainment centered around Dotonbori . This area can be accessed in about 20 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station and 15 minutes from Osaka Station. These are the five best spots in the southern area. First up is Dotonbori, the main tourist spot in this area. Many people visit from home and abroad. The iconic Glico neon signboard seen from Ebisubashi Bridge and the lively townscape stretching along the Dotonbori River are a sight worthy of being called “The Osaka.” The giant moving crab sign is also known as one of the symbols of Dotonbori. Dotonbori is lively during the day, but at night it becomes even more vibrant with neon lights. The most fun thing about Dotonbori is eating while walking around. There are many Osaka specialties such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki skewers, and no matter which restaurant you choose, they are said to be delicious. In particular, there are many popular takoyaki restaurants. Among them, “Acchichi Honten” is a popular store that always has long lines. It is popular for its delicious takoyaki that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also, each restaurant’s okonomiyaki has its own unique characteristics, so these are also recommended. Don’t miss the Tombori River Cruise, where you can enjoy the scenery of Dotonbori from the river. For about 20 minutes, you can enjoy the charm of Osaka Minami from a new perspective while listening to the guidance of the guide crew . Next in the south area is Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street. Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street is 50 meters from Ebisu Bridge in Dotonbori, which I introduced earlier. Stretching north from there, it is a shopping area that is approximately 580 meters long and is a fusion of trend and tradition. From famous brands to unique shops. Shinsaibashi Parco is home to popular luxury brands from Japan and abroad. Daimaru Shinsaibashi store has a wide selection of high-quality items, and is a must-see spot for shopping enthusiasts, from luxury brands to unique select shops. Amerikamura is located just west of Shinsaibashi. Sankaku Park is a popular spot for meetings and events. Old store cafe street art lined up. We recommend stopping by when you come to Shinsaibashi. Next, I will introduce Namba Bagland Kagetsu. Namba Grand Kagetsu is a place that symbolizes the culture of laughter. Access: Approximately 5 minutes walk from the nearest station, Namba Station. It is located about 10 minutes walk from Ebisu Bridge. At Namba Grand Kagetsu, you can experience Japanese comedy culture such as Yoshimoto Shingeki, manzai, and rakugo . The park is open every day, and the performers change daily, so you can enjoy new laughter no matter how many times you visit. There are souvenirs that you can stop by at the theater even if you don’t see the park, and you can buy goods related to Yoshimoto comedians and unique Osaka souvenirs. The last place to introduce in the south area is Kuromon Market. Kuromon Market is a lively market that represents Osaka Minami, which is known as one of Osaka’s major attractions. More than 150 stores are lined up in an arcade with a total length of 580 meters. Access: 4 minutes walk from Namba Grand Kagetsu, which I introduced earlier. 8 minutes walk from Namba Station. It is located about 13 minutes from Ebisu Bridge. It is a treasure trove of ingredients such as fresh seafood, fruits, meat, and side dishes, and is visited by not only locals but also many tourists. Walking around the market is a great way to enjoy fresh sushi and freshly fried tempura . Particularly popular with tourists are the reasonably priced yet luxurious seafood bowls and skewered gourmet dishes. Colorful and appetizing displays attract visitors. The next thing I would like to introduce is Senri Dote. Although it is not included in the top 15 selections, it is a popular spot that I would like to introduce to you. Senri Dote is located on the south side of Osaka International Airport, commonly known as Italy Airport, and is a great spot to enjoy watching planes take off and land up close. The moment when an airplane passes overhead is especially impressive and is a must-see for aviation fans and photography enthusiasts. It is also a famous photo spot where you can experience the huge size of the airplane and the powerful sound of the engine. We recommend looking at the entire plane from the side, not just from directly below. At night, the lights on the runway are so beautiful and magical. The distance from the airport to the embankment is about 3 km, and it takes about 45 minutes to walk, so we recommend using a car. There is also a parking lot nearby. Senri Dote is a recommended spot that everyone, not just airplane lovers, should visit at least once. That was the extra edition. Next, I will introduce the Tennoji area. The Tennoji area is based around Tennoji Station, and is about 25 minutes by train from Shin-Osaka Station. The five best spots in the area are listed below. First of all, we would like to introduce you to the area’s biggest attraction, Abeno Harukas. This 60-story building, 300 meters above ground, was completed in 2014. Since then, it boasted the highest height in Japan for 10 years. Cumulative number of visitors exceeds 370 million. You can see how popular it is. Access: 3 minutes walk from Tennoji Station. Take the Harukas shuttle elevator on the 2nd floor to the ticket counter on the 16th floor. There is a lush garden space on the 16th floor, making it a spot where you can feel nature in the middle of the city. From here you can see the cityscape of the Tennoji area. I also bought a ticket and passed through the gate. Take the elevator directly to the observation deck. As the elevator rises, a fantastic view spreads out on the ceiling. From the moment you step on board, it creates a sense of excitement and heightens your anticipation for the observation deck. You will arrive at Harukas 300 in about 45 seconds. The observatory is entirely made of glass, allowing you to enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka city. Osaka Bay stretches out to the west, with Mt. Rokko and Awaji Island in the distance, and the skyscrapers of Umeda, the center of Osaka city, to the north. At your feet are Tsutenkaku, Tennoji Zoo, and Shitennoji Temple. Komayama can be seen on the east side. On clear days, you can see as far as Nara. The night view is especially beautiful, with the contrast between the setting sun on the west side illuminating Osaka Bay and the twinkling city lights. The 58th to 60th floors have an atrium structure, giving a very open feeling. When you take the escalator down to the 59th floor, there is a shop selling original goods. Limited items featuring Harukas’ official mascot, Abeno Bear, are on sale. Inside Hacas, there are department stores, art museums, and more, making it a complex that you can enjoy all day long. Abe’s Harukas, the tallest building in Osaka, will give you a special moment. Next is Tennoji Zoo. It is a 7-minute walk from Abeno Harukas, which I introduced earlier. It is located within the prefecture, about 4 minutes walk from Tsutenkaku. Tennoji Zoo is a historic zoo located in the center of Osaka city with a vast area of approximately 11 hectares. Opened in 1915. It is popular as the third oldest zoo in Japan. Abeno Harukas can be seen behind the animals, which is unique to urban zoos. Approximately 1,000 animals of 200 species are exhibited, and you can meet a wide variety of animals such as lions, giraffes, black rhinos, and red pandas. With an ecological exhibition theme, you can observe how animals live in an environment close to their natural environment. In particular, in the African Savanna Zone, you can observe animals such as giraffes, zebras, and flamingos that live in a vast space, making it attractive to see animals that are close to nature. The popular polar bear attracts many people with its large body and impressive sight of walking confidently and relaxing on rocky areas. In the sea lion area, California sea lions were swimming around energetically, captivating the children. Next, I will introduce you to the new world. Shinsekai is an indispensable spot for sightseeing in Osaka, where you can find scenery and gourmet food unique to Osaka . It spreads out at the foot of Osaka’s symbol Tsutenkaku. The name Shinsekai comes from the fact that Tsutenkaku Tower and an amusement park were built in 1912, with the aim of creating a new tourist destination inspired by Paris and New York. Today, the flashy three-dimensional billboards and banners that were put up for auction along the streets that still retain the traces of the Showa era are distinctive. It is a place where you can fully experience the essence of Osaka, with restaurants, coffee shops, general stores, game centers, etc. Speaking of Shinsekai, you can’t miss Kushikatsu. I visited the Ganso Kushi Daruma Zoo Store, which has long lines even in a fiercely competitive area. The store’s highly recommended Shinsekai set includes grilled meat and 12 skewers for a reasonable price of 2,000 yen. Dote-yaki was not grilled but stewed beef tendon. It had a light taste with an elegant sweetness of miso flavor, but it was well seasoned, and it was so soft that you almost didn’t have to chew it.It was absolutely delicious. The kushikatsu was wrapped in a crispy batter, and the inside was piping hot, bringing out the flavor of each ingredient to perfection. There is also a retro shooting range in Shinsekai where you can experience retro Showa-era games. Why not experience the taste and atmosphere typical of the new world? Next, I will introduce Tsutenkaku. Although it is a spot that symbolizes Osaka’s downtown culture and is about 108 meters high, it has recently become a place equipped with the latest attractions. The first Tsutenkaku was built in 1912 and at 64 meters, it was the tallest tower in Asia at the time. However, it was dismantled during the war for metal resources, and the current Tsutenkaku is the second generation, rebuilt in 1956. It has been revived as a symbol of the New World area. First, buy a ticket on the first basement floor. Take the retro elevator to the second floor. When you change the elevator again on the second floor, Billiken is on the ceiling. On the monitor was a video of Tsutenkaku turning into a rocket and taking off. Then, we arrived at the 5th general observatory at 87.5m above ground. The observation deck is a golden observation deck floor that pays homage to Toyo Hideyoshi’s golden tea room. From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Osaka cityscape. Billiken, the god of good fortune who is in charge of all things, is enshrined here, and it is said that if you rub his feet, you will bring good luck. For an additional 300 yen, there is a special observatory, Observation Paradise, 94.5m above the ground. Enjoy thrilling 360° panoramic views of the sky without a ceiling. The observation gallery has a diameter of 8.5m, which is quite compact, but it is a special space that cannot be accessed normally. For those who want to experience even more thrills, we also recommend Chip the Tsutenkaku Observation Deck. You can see this view from the glass at your feet. Next, I will introduce Shitennoji. About 10 minutes walk north from Tennoji Station. It is within walking distance from the spots introduced in this area. Shitennoji is a representative temple of the Asuka period, and is said to have been built in 593 by Prince Shotoku and is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Japan. With a total area of 110,000 square meters, it boasts three times the size of Koshien Stadium. The biggest feature is the layout of the temple. It is called the Shiten-shiki Garan arrangement, in which the south gate, middle gate, five-storied pagoda, main hall, and auditorium are lined up in a straight line. It is surrounded by a corridor and is said to be one of the oldest architectural styles in Japan. Due to its historical importance, it is known as the birthplace of Japanese Buddhism. These beautiful buildings have been designated as important cultural properties of the country. You can also enjoy nature throughout the four seasons, with cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves in the fall. Next, we will introduce the Osaka Castle area. This is an area where nature and historical buildings, centered around Osaka Castle, are fused. It is accessible from Shin-Osaka Station in about 30 minutes. Osaka Castle Park has an area of 106 hectares located in the center of Osaka City. It is a vast city park the size of 23 Tokyo Domes and is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in the Kansai region. Osaka Castle, the symbol of Osaka, stands within the park, making it a standard sightseeing spot in Osaka. Osaka Castle Park is very large and for those who find it difficult to walk, there are road trains and electric cars. You can enjoy it as if it were an attraction while taking your time and looking at the scenery, making it especially popular with families. Within the park is Toyokuni Shrine, which is dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Beautiful Birds and Shrines The main shrine is a place with a comprehensive atmosphere that gives you a sense of history. In addition to Lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, this shrine has three people as its worshipers: Lord Hideyoshi and Lord Hidenaga. It is said that Hideyoshi, who achieved success in life, will be blessed with Akari Shusse Kaiun. In addition, approximately 300 cherry blossom trees are in full bloom in the park in spring. It is crowded with many tourists as one of Osaka’s leading cherry blossom viewing spots. Next is Osaka Castle, which can be said to be the symbol of Osaka. It was a magnificent building built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and symbolized his power. However, Osaka Castle was destroyed by Tokugawa Ieyasu during the Osaka Summer Campaign, and its role ended. It was later rebuilt by the Tokugawa shogunate. The current castle tower is the third generation and was rebuilt in 1931. Currently, more than 2 million people visit each year. It is approximately 55m high and has 8 floors, and you can climb up to the castle tower. You can see a panoramic view of Osaka city from the observation deck on the top floor. The gate, moat, and stone wall are also highlights. The Otemon Gate serves as the main gate of the castle and symbolizes its majesty. The huge stone walls and powerful wooden gates convey the grand scale of the castle at the time. Next is the Bay Area, a treasure trove of entertainment. Access: It takes 40 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station to Kaiyukan. It takes about 30 minutes to USJ. Osaka Aquarium is one of the world’s largest aquariums. The biological systems of various creatures that live in the oceans around the world are displayed by theme. The biggest attraction is the whale shark in a large aquarium with a Pacific Ocean theme. The sight of giant whale sharks swimming leisurely, along with other large fish and other sharks, is a sight to behold. At Monterey One , you’ll see adorable California sea lions swimming in a friendly manner, spinning around in the water . Kaigetsu Ginga exhibits 300 jellyfish of 10 different species. You can see octopus jellyfish, red jellyfish, water jellyfish, and more. In Antarctica, king penguins, gentoo penguins, and other species can be seen swimming swiftly and spectacularly underwater. There are also many other attractions to see at the Kaiyukan, such as the apiraku in the Ecuadorian rainforest, the Japanese spider crab in the Japan Trench, the southern rock-hopping penguin in the Falkland Islands, and the ringed seal in the Arctic Circle. Universal Studios Japan is Japan’s leading theme park. Commonly known as USJ. It is a well-known theme park that attracts more than 16 million visitors annually and is the third largest in the world. In 2014, it recreated the world of the Harry Potter series and attracted a lot of attention both domestically and internationally. Super Nintendo World will open in 2021 with an investment of 60 billion yen. There will also be an area where you can enjoy the world of Nintendo characters such as Mario and Yoshi. Since then, new attractions have been introduced one after another. The number of visitors is also increasing. USJ, which has evolved over time, is a tourist spot that represents not only Osaka but also Japan. The last place I would like to introduce is Expo’70 Commemorative Park. This park, built on the site of the Osaka Expo held in 1970, is a tourist destination that represents Osaka. It can be accessed in about 30 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station. The Osaka Expo was Japan’s first international exposition and was a historic event that attracted 6,400 visitors. The park boasts a vast area of 260 hectares, equivalent to 55 Tokyo Domes. The park’s symbol, the Tower of the Sun, is a gigantic 70m-tall artwork designed by Taro Okamoto . If you look closely, you will be surprised at its size. The park includes a sports field and a natural and cultural garden where you can enjoy nature in all four seasons. There is a quaint Japanese garden. For families, there are plenty of play equipment and open spaces for children to enjoy. Furthermore, in the area across the central walkway of the park, there are entertainment facilities such as Japan’s tallest Ferris wheel at 123 meters, the Osaka Wheel, and the shopping mall Expo City . It is an area full of activities that you can enjoy all day long. We will provide you with information on discounted tickets. For those who want to enjoy sightseeing in Osaka at a great price, we recommend the Osaka Rakuyu Pass. This pass comes with admission tickets to tourist spots in Osaka, and you can enter smoothly using the QR code. You can purchase a 1-day ticket for 2,400 yen and a 2-day ticket for 3,000 yen, and if you visit the 15 sightseeing spots we have introduced, you will be able to use 4 facilities for a total of 4,000 yen. If you visit in one day, you will save 1,600 yen, and if you visit in two days, you will save 1,000 yen. If you want to visit more places, it will be even more affordable. Please see the overview section for details. Thank you for watching until the end. I would be happy if I could convey even a little bit of the charm of Osaka. I hope this video will be helpful for your travels. If you found this helpful , please give it a high rating and subscribe to the channel.
