【Tiny Island】閉ざされた無人島で24時間キャンプ！ | 岩手県山田町 オランダ島 | SUUNTO CORE watch | Relaxing nature ASMR

We’re heading to a deserted island. The island is called “Oshima,” commonly known as “Holland Island.” We received special landing permission and came to this uninhabited island. Starting now, the 24-hour deserted island camping begins. We finally arrived at the deserted island of our dreams. It’s like a dream to be able to stay on a white sand beach. Originally, the pier was destroyed by a storm in the early spring of 2024, and camping and swimming were canceled. Despite the situation, I made it happen based on my hopes and the Yamada Town Tourism Association’s desire to promote tourism and show the current state of the island. I’ll tell you about the island situation more later. Our guide for this deserted island camping trip is Mr. Nakajima, who runs Sea and Me (Umi To Watashi To). He usually guides kayak tours. He is also the manager of the deserted island camp. When I came here, I definitely wanted to go to the neighboring small island! I’m going with Mr. Kawamura, the president of Kamaageya who supported our kayak! The small island is 500 meters away. I’m excited by the emerald green sea! This is the sandy beach of the small island. It looks like they are also enjoying the Monji Camp they came with! Just being able to land on an island of this size is almost a miracle. What’s more, the emerald green sea is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that I’m in north Japan. However, the sandy beach on the small island is almost completely submerged at high tide, so you can’t stay overnight there! I’m very disappointed about that, but I’ll just take some photos and go back. Return to Holland Island, it’s time to explore the island. This is the pier that was destroyed in the storm. It appears that efforts are being made to restore the pier. Part of the back side of the island has collapsed due to the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and repeated storms. You’re not allowed to enter past here, but we’ll keep going after receiving permission. The area has been restored, but entry is still prohibited. Instead, it seems to be a breeding ground for black-tailed seagulls. I was surprised to hear that baby black-tailed gulls spend their time lying face down on rocks until they can fly. Proceed carefully so as not to step on the wrong foot. There are some areas that are submerged in water, so be careful. The altitude of the island is approximately 42m, so if there is an earthquake, please climb higher. At the top of the island, there’s a shrine. I hope that the pier will be repaired and the island will have more people in the near future. Let’s relax from here until dinner time. Before coming on this deserted island adventure, I acquired a Suunto Core All Black, which is popular among adventurers. Compasses, barometers, altimeters, and sunrise/sunset times are essential tools for adventure. It’s known for its simple, easy-to-read design and durability. When I wear this watch, I feel like an adventurer. Let’s make a dinner worth looking forward to. We’ll be eating seafood from Yamada Town. First, let’s have a toast with local Beeren’s Orandajima beer! We may be the first to drink Holland Island beer on Holland Island! Cheers! So good! I think torches are more suitable for this atmosphere. It was getting dark, and before I knew it, the cicadas had stopped chirping. First up is the raw sea urchin bowl. It was so delicious it made me speak. The combination of creamy sea urchin and wasabi is a flavor unique to Japan. Both of us were smiling at how delicious it was. The atmosphere on the sandy beach is irresistible. Next is grilled sea urchin in the shells. Some people from overseas seeing it for the first time will be surprised by its appearance. Grilling is the orthodox way to eat it, but I think this is the best way to eat it on a deserted island! The ingredient just now was sea squirt. Apparently it is only eaten in about 5 countries overseas. It’s a very rare food. It was so much fun that it reminded me of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer from when I was a kid! And I keeping saying it again and again! This atmosphere is the best! Monji’s Camp also says, “This is the best camp I’ve ever been to.” It was worth coming together! From now on, I’ll enjoy my time alone. The breeze is pleasant and the sound of the waves soothes you. Looking back on today’s experiences, I am moved by how wonderful Yamada Town is. I want to stay here for hours…days… This may be the first time I’ve been to a place that makes me feel that way. If you have the chance, I hope you all also visit Iwate Prefecture and Yamada Town. A phrase that has been on my mind lately is “rediscover Iwate.” Would you like to rediscover your hometown? Good night. Good morning. The cicadas started chirping around 4am. Cicadas are also early risers. Let’s go see the sunrise. Eight minutes until sunrise. I can see the islet that I crossed yesterday by kayak. I really like time like this that passes slowly. I always wear a hat in the morning, come to think of it, but not today. The trip has almost come to an end. How was this deserted island adventure? It was an amazing journey I had never experienced before. I also hope the island will be restored so that everyone can enjoy this uninhabited place. See you again on the next trip.
