Tour de Kyushu: Day 7 bike packing Kunisaki to Yufuin, exploring temple and majestic descend
Day seven uh to the Kushu from where are we? Where is it? Kunisaki. From Kunisaki to Yu. It’s going to be a short day about 78k 1500 m of elevations. We’re going to start climbing right [Music] away since we started the top of the mountain. So, we’re straight away up to the climb and it’s 3 km already and 178 m of elevation clocked in and the climb hasn’t even finished yet. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] 65 km in. It’s not that far to use wind and it’s a long climb, but it’s about 4 to 6%. It’s beautiful climb. But now we started coming up onto the mountain and the roads become really really pleasant. Woo. It’s a tourist place. That’s why it’s expected there’s a lot of traffic. But look at that. Look no one. It’s weekday, but mostly most of the rides that we’ve been going up the mountains will look like this. And it’s really safe. They all know how to pass cyclists. And all this the cars is relatively smaller and going up and there’s a lot of space for them, a lot of space for us. So, just take your time. Just climb. Look at that. The views of the mountains are great. This climb is just beautiful. [Music] Not that far off to the top of the climb and gradient goes down to 1%. back. How good is this? That’s so good. So for some hot spring actions after this a little bit of cold rain happening at a beautiful climb [Music] Woo! [Music] Baby! Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat up here. We got rained on during the descent, but it was such a beautiful descent. Just got to go back up, take a photo of it during a clear day. But we arrived at Yuwin City and we’re heading towards the bit of an outskirt where we’re going to stay for today and tomorrow which is the rest day. Look at this.
Day 7 of our Tour de Kyushu, #bikepacking around the island of #kyushu #japan will be to #yufuin.
Its relatively short ride, about 88km with 1500m of elevation. Therefore we added a bit of detour to the temple in the mountain – Futagoji temple.
Continued the long descend to Beppu for lunch and climbing the Mt Yufu towards Yufuin.
