Exploring the beauty of LAKE BIWA in Spring | Touring Cherry blossoms Spots | Japan Travel 4K Vlog
Today, let’s go on a journey to see the great cherry blossoms spots around Lake Biwako. This is a day trip to Lake Biwako using JR railway from Kyoto. From the train window, we can see Lake Biwako shining in the morning sun. We can also see the cherry blossoms which are just now in full bloom. Let’s head to the cruise boat port near the station. Let’s explore Kaizu Osaki on this cruise boat. At Kaizu Osaki we can enjoy the magnificent view of cherry blossoms along the lakeside. I highly recommend booking the cruise boat to visit Kaizu Osaki. About 800 cherry trees cover the lake shore for about 4km. This spectacular view has been selected as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.” Because it is a cooler region, the cherry blossoms bloom later than in Kyoto city. First, we will go ashore and take a 30 minute walk. A stroll along the lakeshore road lifts my mood. On the way back, we will take a leisurely cruise along the peninsula before returning to Imazu Port. There are about four cruise companies. Boats also depart from Nagahama and Hikone. Next, rent a bicycle and cycle along the cherry blossom-lined road to the lakeside village. First, let’s go to the beautiful park on the lake shore. Arrive at a beautiful lakeside park. The cherry blossoms in full bloom and the blue lake create a magnificent view. I saw some cute cats in this village. SO CUTE There’s a nice cafe nearby so I’d like to have lunch there. This is a cafe where we can enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Biwako. I heard that this cafe’s hamburger steak is especially delicious. Rice and hamburger go perfectly together. Thank you for the wonderful lunch. The about 23 km lakeside road in this area is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. The road is lined with about 3,800 cherry blossom trees. Today, cycling along the cherry blossom road for 7 km to the traditional lakeside village. The weather is good, making it the perfect setting for cycling. Sugaura is known as a hidden village isolated by lakes and mountains. It is surrounded by a lake and steep mountains, and is isolated from the surrounding area. Its geographical conditions have fostered a unique history and culture. The scenery of this village has been designated as an Important Cultural Landscape Now, let’s return to the station the way we came. I would like to end my trip with a view of the cherry blossoms at Nagahama Castle. Before that, I wanna take a break at the cafe. This drink is made with locally produced milk at Mt. Ibuki. The moderate sweetness relieves my body’s fatigue. Thank you for a relaxing time🙏 Nagahama Castle has been selected as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.” There are about 550 cherry trees planted in Hou Park surrounding the castle. This castle was lorded by Toyotomi Hideyoshi at the end of the Sengoku period (16 century). The castle was abandoned in the early Edo period, (17 century) but was restored in 1983. At night, we can see a different view. The bewitching atmosphere make me feel as if I have traveled back in time to the Sengoku period. Today, I was able to feel the dynamics of spring in my entire body.
This is a day trip from Kyoto. This time, I go on a journey to Lake Biwa (Biwako) to explore the beauty of Lake Biwa in spring. In particular, there are many spots there where we can enjoy spectacular views of the cherry blossoms.
