Adventures in Nara 奈良の冒険

In March, Japanese with baby girls decorate their homes with Hina Dolls to celebrate the birth of a girl. Our ride today took us to Takatori, which during the month of March, opens their doors to show their multi-generational Hina Dolls. Some of the dolls are over 150 years old. Takatori is also known for their Castle which gives the few visitors that hike up to it amazing views of Nara and Wakayama Mountain range. We finished out adventure by visiting one of the three major shrines in the country Kashiwa Shrine. They were holding their annual Kyudo, Traditional Archery, Tournament.

3月、日本では、女の子の赤ちゃんが産まれた家庭で女の子の誕生を祝って雛人形を飾る。私たちは何世代にもわたって受け継がれてきた雛人形を展示する高取町に行った。中には150年以上前の雛人形もある。高取はまた、奈良と和歌山山脈の素晴らしい景色を見渡せるお城でも知られている。私たちは、日本三大神社のひとつである橿原神宮を訪れて冒険を終えた。そこでは毎年恒例の弓道大会が開催されていた。
